  1. Steve, it is generally accepted that Marius' contract with ICT entitled him to a cut. However, at no stage in your statement do you deny that Marius verbally agreed to waive it. That speaks volumes.
  2. All in all it probably works out at over ?7k per week (salary ?100k + 2 sign-on instalments of say ?70k each + cut of transfer ?130k) CaleyyD, I didn't hear what the club said today. Are they no longer arging that Marius agreed to waive his cut if we accepted the lower offer from Dinamo? Whatever it is, ICT lost their main bargaining chip when they eventually had to condede on transferring the registration. The only remaining bargaining chip is that we are currently in possession of the money he wants. Normally that puts us in a strong negotiating position, but with it now seeming to be an employment law matter, there will only be one winner.
  3. I noticed earlier that Niculae's Wikipedia (English) entry says he is a Dinamo player, whilst the Romanian version still has him with us. I don't know which one to fix :017:
  4. There are rumours though that Mixu wants to replace about half the team.
  5. Nothing will happen, it's all just posturing.
  6. Just wondering if anyone knows if ICT are making the long journey by bus or plane?
  7. It's very rare that ICT unveil a player that the fans had no inkling we might sign. Which makes me fear it could be Billy Elliot. But I'm hoping for a surprise in the form of a commanding central defender.
  8. I think "perhaps lends credence to the theory that..." is sufficiently non-accusatory! They published them before anyone had claimed anything! Until that point, details of the negotiations were quite rightly being conducted in private.
  9. This topic has been moved to ICT. [iurl]http://www.caleythistleonline.com/community/index.php?topic=7399.0[/iurl]
  10. Personally I'm waiting to see if the club have actually done anything wrong rather than adding to the many ill-informed attacks on this thread. The only thing we know for sure is that Dinamo acted in an underhand and unprofessional manner by publishing those documents, which when you consider their motives for doing so perhaps lends credence to the theory that ICT conducted their business with integrity and have been the victims of a Niculae-Dinamo stitch-up. Perhaps they were too trusting, but time will tell.
  11. We finally persuaded my grandad to stop driving when he turned 90, and had become a danger to everyone. It's very hard for old folk to willingly give up a part of their independence, but it has to be done.
  12. The only people who suffer from giving away part of the club, or Orion getting a bargain, are the other shareholders, it doesn't really affect the club itself.
  13. Jaundice PS Can I suggest that next time anyone takes a sickie, they have to phone work and say that they have got whatever they posted here!
  14. I passed that very accident just when the ambulances were arriving. Glad to hear everyone survived.
  15. Diaryea dirhyea diarhoeaeoa Dysentery!
  16. Didn't look hard enough! Zamojski, Zamorana, Zirozoulli, Zipouro, Zdenka and Zizi cheese. And I only made up one of those. B - Beri Beri
  17. Wot no Wensleydale? :010: Xynotyro (Greece)
  18. You keep referring to the documents Dinamo published, but what about the ones they didn't publish? They may equally be in possession of an earlier letter stating the conditions that would be applied to any proposed transfer, such as ICT reaching a satisfactory settlement with the player. Who knows, but the one I would be sure of is that those documents do not form the entire correspondence or contract between the clubs. And in my dealings with international companies, I've never ever known funds to arrive in less than 3 working days!
  19. Presumably where we stand now is that the club is not transferring Niculae's registration until he waives his right to a share of the transfer fee. A fair and reasonable stance IF it had been agreed that he would do so if the club accepted the offer from his preferred bidder rather than the highest offer. He might deny ever agreeing to that, knowing that ICT have little choice but to allow him stay with Dinamo. We'll end up with a compromise where he gets a reduced share of the transfer fee, with all parties feeling bitter about the whole saga and blaming each other in the press, and then eventually we can all move on.
  20. Yeah it's because I'm on the cheapskate free TV package rather than the top of the range one you've got! They decided to give free Setanta with that package last year, but for me it still isn't worth it as I'm not interested in the dozens of home makeover channels etc
  21. Some info that might be helpful to a few people who subscribe to this. About a year ago I subscribed to this when it was on offer at ?8/month, as I'm sure many others did. I got my latest bill today and saw it had gone up to ?15. Phoned up just to ask why it had gone up so much, and they instantly offered me it for ?9.99 instead, simple as that.
  22. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is indeed the dispute, with perhaps ICT agreeing to accept 500,000 Euros thinking it was the transfer fee net of the deduction, or maybe not even being aware of this rule. We sent an invoice for 500,000, indicating that to be the net sum we expected to receive. This could also explain why on the Dinamo website when they published the documents they specifically pointed out that the mandatory 5% deduction had been applied. Why else would they point that out?
  23. On what basis do you make that statement? The fact that you don't understand what is happening?
