  1. Greg Tansey was Stockports penalty taker - and apparantly a very good one as well! So if he is on the park if and when we get a penalty he may be the man to take it.
  2. Tomorrow we shall win a penalty.
  3. I do agree that County will take some of our sponsorship etc, and it will be more evened out that way. But what about new sponsors attracted to the idea of 2 SPL teams in the Highlands? Two extra games where we will sell out with 7,000 fans instead of 3,800. County would add more interest for Caley Thistle fans. Not only would the goal be to avoid relegation / get to top six, but also to be above County. There will be more nationwide publicity with the 2 teams in the area. It will help with local economy. To add on to what a previous poster said, if a Hearts fan comes up and stays the weekend for an ICT game, he then does the same for a County game and possibly stays in an Inverness hotel buying Inverness beer in an Inverness pub etc. I don't believe for one second that we will lose fans to County. Not one Caley Thistle fan is going to tear up their ICT ticket and drive across the bridge. County will gain fans, but possibly fans who don't have an allegiance to a Highland team, possibly one of these ghastly Invernessian old filth fans. If they don't support Caley Thistle by now, well they never will. Smee - I personallly have no problem wishing County well. I am a Caley Thistle fan. It is the only team I support and the only team I will ever support. It doesn't make me any less of a "fan" for wishing them well. I still love to hate them, love to hate their fans - some of them very good friends actually and I sincerely hope I will continue to love to hate them whilst taking 12 points (or 9 if we make top 6) off them next season in the SPL!!! p.s. f*ck the County!
  4. For anyone who wishes to join us, a few Glasgow based fans will be leaving on the 2.15 train from Queen Street and spending the afternoon in Edinburgh and Leiths finest pubs.
  5. What is this "red dots" you speak of? Nice upgrade gents - like it. RIP red and green dots.
  6. Forans ban kicks in on the 31st so he will miss the St J game. Does anyone know the status of A. Shinnie and Tokelys injury?
  7. Weather watch: ~30 mph winds for Edinburgh on Wednesday afternoon / night. It was awfully windy against the Dons and at St Mirren Park the other week. Hopefully this means another 3 points.
  8. Yes indeed. I was thinking this myself. Who won the toss the other day? We went north (into the wind) in the first half. Although, I always prefer the team to head towards the Caley Thistle support in the second half, it can help subdue a noisy away support. If Aberdeen were pushing for an equaliser in the last few minutes and got a corner in front of their fans, the roar and encouragment would have really motivated them (in theory). At the other end of the park when Aberdeen got a corner, it does not have the same effect. I don't think Caley Thistle fans at home get behind the team to the same extent as an away crowd does. Various variables such as the 'road triip bonding' and of course alcohol play a part. Therefore, in terms of motivating the team, I don't think it matters what way we play in the first half at home, but it can possibly help lull the opposition if they are going away from their support in the second half and pushing for an equaliser.
  9. Im only coming if youve binned the Christmas Carols CD Under new laws, Christmas Carols are now banned as they are offensive to secular supporters. See you there.

  11. Just back in from the Innes and very pleased with that performance. The wind dictated a lot of play and made it stuffy at times but we were the better team. Tade and Hayes had some great runs. McKay was excellent and Golabart was fantastic. Hopefully we can keep hm until the end of the season now! Merry Terry Christmas!!! Roll on the Hibs game!
  12. If the keeper hadn't carried on kicking him, he would have got up and attacked again. He may even have had a knife. The keeper can't take a chance. Someone who invades a pitch, trys to fly kick a player is obviously mental. He could have done anything if the keeper didn't kick him to stay down. If the club security fail to protect the players, then they are forced to protect themselves. So: 1) The keeper didn't attack the fan! The fan attacked him, and the keeper took the appopriate measures to keep the fan on the deck without holding on to him - if he had simply pinned him to the ground he may have been stabbed by a knife or even a needle. Kicking him kept him down untill the authorties took over. 2) No. He should not have been sent off 3) Yes. 100%. If a fan is going to be able to attack a player and the player is not allowed to defend themselves, then he cannot endanger the lives of any more of his players.
  13. Special Offer: 3 for 2 - Buy 3 tickets and only pay for 2 ! (cheapest ticket is free). Only applies to pre-purchased tickets bought from ICT club shop. That'll save us a few quid. A few Glasgow based folk heading through around 2pm for a day of German beer garden and Leiths finest pubs. If anyone fancies joining us let me know and i'll arrange the plans closer to the time.

  15. That's the answer I expected, but personally I've never seen any sort of surge in a seated area and I've never been tempted to do so due to the likelihood of falling flat on my face. In fact, in the thousands of games there have been in the UK where fans stand throughout the game, how many deaths have there been as a result? And yet when I get on public transport, I often find myself having to stand in a fast moving vehicle without any form of restraint or barrier, an instant away from certain death. If there are 2000 supporters seated behind a goal and their team scores, they all jump up and down, some hugging each other, turning around to the person behind them etc etc. Surely that could create a 'surge'. To get super politically correct, we could look at it the other way. If we are already standing and then score, there is no automatic jump up from the seats. Think of all the knee injuries that could occur from people leaping from their seats. Safe seating areas should be introduced with seat belts so that the chance of knee and back injuries are decresed. Terrible thing is, there's probably more chance of that than proper terracing coming back!
  16. Rip out all the seats in the North Stand and make that terracing. More people would turn up i'm sure. Could be a great atmosphere in there if it was terracing. The cost of taking out the seats and building the terracing barriers can't be too much - I reckon with an increased attendance, that will more than cover the costs (that's if i'm right about more people coming back to football). Of course there may be North Stand season ticket holders who prefer to sit there, so the club would need to speak to them to gauge opinion i'd imagine
  17. How much stoppage time do you expect there to be!?
  18. Well this has been said all season, and in the second half of last season. Nearly a year being not 100% fit! He's had 2 two week rests due to the international break this season. What exactly is the injury he is carrying?! I think he played very well on Saturday - certainly an improvement on previous performances this season. Tade was in the Courier the other week saying how great a captain Foran is - he must be doing something right in that case! At one point on Saturday, Richie lost the ball, turned round to Gillet, shouted something at him and ran back. There were quite a few shouts from fans at this point such as 'FFS Foran it was your fault'. 'Don't blame Gillet' etc. It got me thinking. Some people may be jumping on the anti-Foran band wagon. What he MAY have said was simply 'get back to defence!' Not to have a go at Gillet but to literally give me instructions. lets face it, I don't imagine he would say 'awfully sorry for that bad pass. Could you pretty please head back into defence'. He has to shout instructions super quick and I don't believe for one second he was blaming Gillet for himself losing the ball. I am not so sure overall in his capabilities. Maybe he's being misintepreted by fans and is a great captain, or he is indeed being too negative. But to the point of the original post - yes, he had a very good game.
  19. If i decide to sit down in the 'safe standing area' will I be ejected from the stadium? Good move forward, but as previously mentioned, it won't quite be the same as terracing. Maybe like the picture from the German team - but I do like that concept. At least if you do require a seat at some point, it is there!
  20. Can't believe we lost it tbh. But so happy with the performance. They had their chances as well, so maybe a fairer score line would have been 4-4! We played some wonderful flowing football. Regarding the shot cleared off the line - I do not believe it went over. I was right in line with it and it looked like it was cleared bang on the line - I didn't shout for it anyway. One negative point I need to mention though. When Rangers went 1-0 up, a few folk started singing 'we are going down' and the song that really pi55es me off 'He's one of our own, he's one of our own, Grant Munro'. This is detremntal to the current squad. They do not need this, when they are in a relegation battle. I sang it at the end of the season as I wanted Butcher to change his mind. He didn't. Now, the song should be dead. But every away game anyway, I hear it being sung by a minority. Lets keep behind the team - the current team!!!!
  21. If there is a 'like' button, will there be a 'dislike' button like in youtube?
  22. Aye, CH in morning? I forgot to reply to your text.
  23. So the Scottish Government has passed the bill. I am all for it, but I reckon it will cause a wee scene on Saturday. The Blue Brigade will have their pathetic banners claiming their innocence. They will be outraged that they are not allowed to sing songs of hatred. I'd imagine there will be an increased police presence. Earlier in the season one fan handed out masking tape so they could have a 'silent protest'. I hope they do that again, that quite literally will shut them up! But what does this bill mean for us? On Saturday for example, with a heightened police presence, there is a very high chance that if anyone sings the 'Who put the O and the Y in County song' they will be arrested. A small section of our support now and again sing 'Jonny Tuffey no surrender' when he is warming up during the games. This, i'd imagine would be an absolute no no! Although I would never sing that anyway due to the conotations. When we go to Edinburgh, another song that is a no no is the 'HIV Capital' song - if the police do their jobs properly then with the new legislation, it is difficult to argue if an arrest is made. Another example is at Parkhead earlier this season, a Caley Thistle fan around the age of 20, walked up to the barrer between the Celtic and ICT fans and shouted about a Celtic player being "poof". This was literally right in front of a police officer. The PC said to him that he could arrest him. I'd imagine if the guy shouts it at the next match, he will be arrested. The main complaints about this bill is it's too confusing. What is offensive and what is not? For me it's very simple. If you think something is offensive, then it probably is, i.e. don't say it.
  24. It's either an ankle support or support tape I presume.
