Melville / Dundee / 25pt Deduction
as a side note, why are Dundee in the SPL section of the BBC sport website, and not the Scottish League section anyway, it's a shame such a club has not learnt from their mistakes of 7 years ago. I personally can't help but feel for the staff behind the scenes, the fans or even some of the players, whilst having a cheeky wee snigger at those who thought money would buy success. That side of Dundee FC (i.e. the arrogance and attitude) are what have ultimately brought the club to it's knees. Just my opinion

How many points should see us safe?
I'm not going to bother guessing because, as was said earlier, we went down with the record amount of points prevously. It's be a real bar steward to do the same again... I'm also not worried enough to predict the drop, or even our final league standing. The SPL is a far cry from the adventure last year. I just hope I can enjoy it as much.

Welfare football
Does anyone on these forums play for teams in the welfare leagues, who may be up for a friendly. Myself and BA currently play for Uncle Bob's in the Nairn and Forres league, and our league season ended last night as Carlton drew 1-1 with RAF Kinloss to win the league by 1-point. It's not known yet if there'll be a winter league, as teams didnt seem too interested last year. If anyone plays for a team and fancies a friendly, post here and we'll try and get some arranged.

Highland March
Usually the only way people get updates regarding the Highland March, there's a small 'signature' on my posts or people find out through word of mouth. This time, I've decided to update people on the main forum fully. Highland March - created by fans of this very website - has seen the 8th annual event come and go, and what an event it was. FULL photo gallery and a new Diary of the HM8 goings on, are now available on the Highland March website We're already looking at possible routes for HM9, and with 'splitus daftus' (the SPL Split) coming back to haunt us, we'll have no idea where we're going until March We also have 1 new recruit already on board for HM9, so a huge welcome to 'BA' - he also completed his first 14 mile training-jaunt without side effects just the other day. Have a look at the website. There's photos and diaries for every Highland March. There's a brief history page also, as well as training tips supplied by Gringo and Yompa.

ICT Online since 1994
CTO Certainly has alot to answer for :-) The E&WMBICTFCSCC (East & West Midlands Branch of Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club Supporters Club, Club) was born because of this site - We even went to the 'Bee-hive' to watch the Rangers match then sang to a Hearts fan at a German Beer Market in the middle of Birmingham... Surreal hey?! CTO is responsible for many other things also. The Highland March for one - Something I hold close to my heart and enjoy dearly. Through HM and CTO, I met my wife (aka MarcAndCourtneysMum/CuteCaleyChick/MrsJnr). So many stories to tell, so little time.

Singing Section
Oh, and also AndyM, for someone complaining about the bad language contained in chants, you're doing an aweful lot of f***ing swearing yourself!

Singing Section
Why don't you if you don't like the songs Now, that remark was meant in jest, but in all seriousness why is it always those who sing that have to be moved! Section G is now infamous with the ICT crowds as being the place to be for atmosphere at home games. Why, therefore, can the 'majority' not give in to the 'minority' for once and give the section G lads support rather than a negative tag. I know most the time they bring it on themselves, but perhaps if people supported them and joined in, there'd be alot more mutual respect. I don't claim to be one of the section G lads, but I certainly aint a sweet rustler either.

Singing Section
I think it's fair to say that the lads in section G have moved enough times already to try and create atmosphere. From behind the goal to the end of the main stand, to behind the goal, to the uncovered west stand, then back behind the goal... every time they moved the have have tried to make everyone else happy, and then everyone turns against them; be that stewards or other supporters - they can't win! The only place they can sing whilst recieving minimal backlash, is Section G in the north stand... Fact is, as much as I have to agree with folk who say the over-use of obsceneties needs to be dulled down, these lads are the only people who DO create atmosphere, and when it's good, it's feckin fantastic!

Alison Coia aka Caley Ally
I'd like to echo everyones comments and pass on my condolances to Iain, all the family and her friends. The train for the Dundee semi-final was a hoot and one of my fondest memories was dancing with herself, the PB's and a few others outside Hampden before kick off, with 'Married to the mob' on the back of her shirt! R.I.P Ally xx

Returning Players
Challenge Cup Quarter or Semi Final 1999 I think. We utterly rogered them that thanks to some hysterical keeping from Raimero Gonzalez! Wyness didnt go to Hearts until 2003...!

ICT v Peterhead
:rotflmao: :rotflmao: Gotcha!!! Just back from the game. Decent enough performance and would say Peterhead were only really in it until the penalty. Agree that we were only on a canter for much of the game and a far cry from the amazing specticle of United on Sunday. Still, a win is win. Clean sheet a bonus. Bring on the next round. I also kept my eye on Denzil who had one or two decent touches, but he seemed like he was a lone striker tonight and not able to get too involved. A shame really, and even some of the lads near me were wanting a denzil goal

Returning Players
Indeed, darren dods was at Raith. A 1-0 win in midweek fixture if I recall. I've seen a few faces return to TCS over the years, as well as other stadia. Liam Keogh used to attend games, as did Hart and Wilson, Bayne and others. What we must remember though that some have selom had opertunity to get to games becasue they continue to play regular. Wyness being a good example. Always had a game at Heart, St Mirren, QoS and Dumbarton, and now with Peterhead he's playing every week.

ajsict92, are you forgetting Barrowload...?

Returning Players
I think it's safe to say, RiG, that when the likes of wilson, mcculloch and xsaua went to Livi and dargo went to St Mirren, these guys all seemed to leave for the money. Something that many a football fan would say creates a certain degree of animosity. Imrie was a hot-head (as shown in the challenge cup final) and although he did great for us, he jumped ship when we (thought) we needed him most. Wyness and Mann, in my opinion, left to make themselves better players rather than for the money, as did Ian Black to hearts. It's probably a safe bet as well that any player heading over the bridge will get dogs abuse, purely because they are our nearest rivals. Only Golly would stand out as a player to not get the hostlity treatment, not just because he was our club captain, but because he was fading at ICT and needed to prolong his career. I think he even had loans at peterhead and livingston too, but cant remember.

Mann and Bavidge OUT
No... this is where you remind me to actually do my prediction I wasn't aware Mann had been out since the first game, but it's still disappointing not to see both players get a run out. Sincerely hope Dennis plays though.
-
Mann and Bavidge OUT
According to BBC website, Mann and Bavidge are both out of tonights match - the latter for work commitments. Bit of a shame really because I was looking forward to seeing these guys playing. Wyness will no doubt start though. He got a great reception from us when he was wth QoS, and that will probably happen again tonight.
