Lets hear who you want to see at caley next year.and who could be good targets.
I suggested Jamie Cureton on here 2 years ago, when he left my local club, Reading. At that time I suspect, hardly anyone on here had heard of him. One reaction on the forum was that ICT should not be interested in English players but only home grown Scots. How parochial and short sighted was that? However, I agree that we would have no chance of Cureton now as he is probably on a few grand a week these days.

caledonian souvenir programme
You're right ,Mantis, it does look as though I'd had a skinful to suggest the team I did. But I was only 12! The team I quoted was the Caley all conquering team of c1951/52, when I first started watching them, so it is dear to my heart. Going back to the Celtic game, the Caley keeper, Jimmy Smith, was very well rated and moved to play for Stirling, when they were much stronger than they are now. A propos nothing at all, another memory I have from the early 50's is Caley playing 2 league games in one day (and winning them both) due to fixture congestion at the end of the season. That happened on at least 2 occasions.

caledonian souvenir programme
I can remember that game, although not too much about it. Certainly the score was 2 all, and Celtic did have a strong team out. I remember some typical Willie Fernie dribbles. Can't remember the whole Caley team but probably something like Bruce, Mcgillivray, Maronski, Bolt McKinnon McIntosh, Mcbeth Jamieson, Mitchell, Mckenzie and Fraser.

Highland curse - Robbo
Couldn't agree more Johnboy!

Richard Hastings
Really hope its true that Hastings has signed his extension contract. In my book he has been our best defender consistently this season. Generally underrated by most fans I think.

Club or Country
I'd rather see ICT win the Scottish Cup than Scotland win the World Cup, and we've got more chance of doing it!

Dods
I think Caff should be given the role for the rest of the season so that he can establish himself again. It will also give CC a chance to see how he does over a few games, so that he can decide if he needs to look for a Dods replacement in the summer. Having said that though, Dods has been a great player for us, and although it is a shame for him to end his career with us in this way, we must think of the future.

RANGERS V ICT - matchday thread
Great result in difficult circumstances, just what we needed to build confidence for a good end of season run to secure 7th spot. A repeat of last year's final 5 games will do nicely!

Terry Butcher
I agree with Scotty. Terry Butcher did a good job with Motherwell. Don't know what went wrong in Sydney, but I would think he will land another decent job soon enough. I wouldn't have minded seeing him as No 1 at ICT with CC as his deputy, but perhaps it is better not to open up this old chestnut again.

Average Home Attendances
Sorry Kencar, I obviously misread your first post!

Average Home Attendances
Kencar What sort of maths is that? Even excluding OF/Dons, I thought our lowest home gate was still 3000+, so it would take some doing for average to be 1000 or less!!!

JUST noticed the date...
It got a mention, with a clip of the match, on Sky Sports news today

Well done Ian Vigurs
Excellent news. How did Archie Knox know about him? Has he been seen scouting himself, or is it done on recommendation?

Favourite Scottish Players
Surprised there has only been one mention so far of the great "Slim Jim" Baxter.

ICT V Celtic - matchday thread
Absolute travesty. We gave away the two softest goals imaginable. Apart from that Fraser had only one save to make. Definitely outplayed them second half. Hard to take that wee nyaff, Strachan's, grin at the end. He knew they'd stolen it. Still, as others have said, more positives than negatives today.

Hastings
Excellent news. I think he has generally been one of our most underrated players. Glad to see he is now more appreciated.

Next Scotland boss
Tommy Burns was utter mince at Reading a few years ago. Hope its not him!

Programmes
Sorry L_G, they've gone already. I would have been happy to donate them to Supporters' Trust if I'd known.

Stewards at TCS
They're not all bad. Just before the Dunfermline game I saw a lady steward take a bottled soft drink off a yougster in front of me in the North stand. A couple of minutes later she was back returning the drink in a paper cup.

Motherwell go into the forestry business
If they do as well as my local club, Reading, with their Irish signings, they'll be a force to be reckonned with.

stop pikin on caley
This isn't a text messaging service, try writing in English if you want people to respond to you. However, the point you made is a good one.

Black a liability
I don't think I'm just reacting to a bad result, but I'm with the majority who think enough is enough when it comes to Black's antics. He must have the worst disiplinary record in Scottish football, and yesterday's petulance is just the last straw. I say get shot of him now, if we can get some dough for him, although I suspect his poor temperament will put many managers off him and have an adverse affect on his potential value. I'm not with those 'give him another chance, he's only young' softies. He has been playing SPL football for nearly 3 years now and should have learned how to behave by now. Get him out!

Dargo Airs his Views
I'm with those who think he should be talking to Charlie first, not the papers. Suspect he'll be with another team next season.
