Many years ago, a young lad called David Macrae was on the youth training programme, but got an odd game with the first team just before ICT were promoted to the SPL first time around. He married and he and his family are now living in Queensland , Australia where he coaches the Noosa Lions. I think they may only be a kids team, but can't deny the boy has gone far in distance terms.

Thank you for sharing givmeaccccc and it is a lovely gesture in your dad's memory. Sorry for your loss

Come on Billy - you know it makes sense. Get your agent to drop the price a wee bit if need be, and come back to where you are cherished. We would love you to come back and you seem to be a player who thrives on security and we would look after you. Hope Billy is keeping an eye on caaleythistleonline.

Good Luck Richie. I'm sure that you will be the type of manager who talks about "us" when talking about ICT, rather than discussing the club like you've got a vague interest in it but are not really part of it. Your family must be happy too.

We have our memories to keep us warm. What a wonderful day.

"You really are smarter than the average bear Kenny".

Dean's departure takes the shine off the good news about Dave the Rave. Dean has been a loyal servant to the club and also seemed to enjoy the Highland lifestyle. Lucky will be the club you go to next Dean and I'd be delighted to see you here again in the future.

Loving the interactiveness going on lately between the club and the fans. Thankyou to the board for keeping us so well informed - much appreciated.

What fantastic news. I am officially looking forward to next season now. Thanks to all who organised this - our club truly does belong to all of us. I suppose I'll have to get the cream cakes down to the board room now - and I'm delighted to be saying that. David Ravens got a head like a ping pong ball, Ping pong ball, ping pong ball, David Ravens got a head like a ping pong ball, Ping pong ping pong ball. (and he's ours).

I'm really sorry to hear that Dean has gone. He was fantastic for us, and I'm sure he would have continued to be if not for his injury. I hoped that there would have been a way to keep both keepers. Good Luck Deano and thanks for the memories.

My favourite comment for a long time. If only it could come true Yngwie.

And who better to lead the sing song when we win the Scottish Cup back next season.

Yep, someone new please. We want to be known as a club that discovers managers, not one that takes sloppy seconds.

I'm sure that there will be no shortage of applicants for the manager post. It provides a very good platform for anyone with the right skills to show exactly how good they can be. I think there will be a number of applicants who are young, dynamic and full of hunger for success and a determination to prove that they can do well out there. For me this is the type of manager I'd like to see (rather than a been there, done that type who sees ICT as a bit of a second best option). I think that this type of manager would fit in well with the general ethos within the team to be the best they can be and to always strive to prove the doubters wrong. I don't think mega wages would be a problem either as this type of manager would want the job, not for the money involved, but in order to prove their worth. Of course this all sounds very idealistic, and where the downfall would be would be that when success follows, it would only be a matter of time before our manager would start looking at bigger (but not necessarily better) prospects. This would be the point where maybe we have to be realistic and accept that once this seed has been sown it always signals the beginning of the end. We have seen it time and time again and whether a manager is tempted to take up a lucrative offer or is persuaded to stay, at that point they start to distance themselves from their role at ICT, so really what is the point in trying to hang on to someone who no longer wishes to be there. We have to perhaps change our mindset to see it as flattering that our club is seen as a great place for an aspiring manager and rather than feel rejected when they move on, be proud that Inverness played a part in their career and that they hopefully have happy memories of a successful time at our club. In other words we are like a feeder club for managers. I know how upsetting it is to see managers, and players too, being picked off by other clubs (Aberdeen for one), but if we can accept that this is how things are likely to play out then we can enjoy our clubs part in producing promising managers. And of course, we always get the last laugh anyway when 'The Curse of Caley Thistle' strikes when the try to reproduce what they had here elsewhere! I hope the team are enjoying their holidays and not getting too caught up in all this - I have every faith in them carrying us through whatever lies ahead and I hope Dave the Rave has not even started to think about packing up yet.

Sorry, I should have said player/manager.

David Raven for manager?

Now that the season has finished, despite the fact that there is much to be sorted out down at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, maybe it is time for a little light hearted chit chat. The introductory comment about dropping TVs reminded me of my old dad wachling in to our house in the 70's carrying a brand new PYE (I think) colour telly straight from radio rentals, and beaming with pride from ear to ear at his latest acquisition. It was one of those ones with a lovely (potentially fake) wooden casing and he set about putting up some shelving on the wall to sit it on. Limited joinery skills meant that when the telly was placed on the shelf, it was flat against the wall and not quite at enough of an angle to face into the room, so it was pulled out on one side and we all settled down to enjoy Crossroads. Our happiness was complete and I remember feeling that we had 'made it' in terms of being up there with 1970's hi-tec. We should have known it couldn't last and a couple of hours later the telly took a kamikaze leap off the shelf with an almighty crash. Our shock was matched only by relief that the blame for the fiasco could only lay with dad, so we were safe from his wrath no matter how mad he got - and that was quite mad. It all turned out alright in the end because the sturdy wooden casing had done it's job and the telly still worked perfectly despite the damaged front top right hand corner of it, a talking point for many years to come. I think we kept that telly for so many years because my dad was scared that Radio Rentals would charge him for the damage if they ever got to know about it.

John is going to find himself stuck up there if he climbs any further. I do think that without the injuries we could have been looking at a very different finish to the season and Yogi has to get some of the credit for that with his style of play, BUT Yogi was not the man responsible for bringing most of these players to the club in the first place and lately especially he seems to be a man who can rub the board, players and fans up the wrong way with his antics. This cannot be good for the club, especially at this time when deals should be being done. And just for the record I think it has been the 'average' players who have been 'incredible', they are my heroes. Also a word for Dean Brill - a fantastic goalie for us until his injury, I'd be sorry to see him go.
-
Oh Caley D, you'd look really cute in pink!
-
I just wish something would happen to move the Yogi v The Board situation on a bit, because at the moment no business is going to be done with contracts and signing up new players until this is sorted. Very damaging for the club.

Fun in the sun! Just what was needed for the last day of the season. A good send off for those moving on. Onwards and upwards.

I just hope we win or draw at the weekend or we are entitled to feel very aggrieved at the decision not to allow a replay. Matters are not helped when our manager seems to be quite content about the decision not to replay or give ICT points according to his comments in todays P & J. Hopefully the boys are feeling a bit hard done to as well and go out and give it laldy in our last game. I hope so, I've had to miss a few games lately, but I'm aiming to be there. Enjoy your holiday boys - it's been a long hard season, but you're still the best. -
Do I need to pop down to Harry Gows for the cakes I promised if DR got signed?
