  1. Buying season tickets at the club shop or over the phone will improve the club’s cash flow faster than using the on line facility as that goes through someone like Ticketmaster so payments will be delayed getting to the club.
  2. If the sanctions here are the same as in England, we could face a points deduction. This is what the BBC said about Sheffield United after their opening day win: “An opening-day win moves them into positive points after they started the season on minus two because of defaulting on payments to other clubs during the 2022-23 season.”
  3. I’ve been saying for a while now that we need to go 4 4 2 with proper wide players, one of whom would logically be Longstaff. Gilmour tends to sit in front of the defence, so our current back 3 / back 5 is almost a 6, so we never have a decent outlet. Ferguson is wedded to his formation but we can all see it is wrong and not getting the best of the players.
  4. Last night, Jay Henderson (2) and George Oakley for Ayr. Today, Scott Allan for Kelty and Rory McAllister for Peterhead.
  5. Probably means no local youngsters will start the game today.
  6. In case it helps, I see the BBC Sport app is now giving the attendance figure in the image with result, scorers etc, rather than where it used to be with the line ups.
  7. Peterhead @ 1.80 please.
  8. HT 0-1 FT 1-2 ICT Brooks Annan Goss Crowd 509
  9. A full Highland League programme last night, with the only scorer noted being Josh Meekings, but an own goal for Nairn against Clach.
  10. It’s great fun, and join the Prediction League too.
  11. I took the grandkids to the Moray Motor Museum yesterday. If you’ve not been, it’s well worth a visit, with some incredible cars on display and a very knowledgeable staff member, who thoroughly enthralled an 11 year old girl who doesn’t like cars and a 12 year old boy who’s fascinated by them.
  12. At the weekend, Andrew MacRae for Brora and Anthony McDonald for Brechin.
  13. Assistant Manager at Warrington Town.
  14. The trialist goalie is Musa Dibaga, formerly at Bo’ness United.
  15. I think I can lose my title on my own efforts after week 1: adrift at the bottom of the table!
  16. The issue with Longstaff is he is very left footed. We are playing him in central midfield so his one footedness means he nearly always plays it left or back. Several times today he could have played telling balls to Bray in forward positions if he could use his right foot. I feel we need to switch to 4 4 2 and have two proper wide players, one being Longstaff. Gilmour is tending to sit quite deep so a back 4 rather than our current 3/5 would work and get the best out of our squad. In his defence, he did make a few off the ball runs in the first half which the players in possession didn’t see. And the assist for our goal with his back post corner. As STFU says, Mckay is following Ferguson’s wishes, but he did come very close when he hit the bar.
  17. I should have played my joker!
  18. The crowd was announced as 1439. I thought we were pretty good in the first half and deserved to lead, and it could have been more if players had seen the runs on the shoulder Brooks was making. Gilmour came very close but the goalie somehow kept it out. We didn’t turn up after the break until we’d conceded, but we woke up a bit but couldn’t get a goal, Mckay coming closest when he hit the bar, and both goalies pulled off good saves late on. We also had a clear penalty turned down, with everyone seeing the handball apart from the officials. It was really a repeat of last season. Plenty possession but lacking the cutting instinct and taking the safe option too often. MacKinnon looked good and Duffy had a decent first half but faded after the break. He should have been subbed at the same time as MacKinnon. I’d like to think we will at least be competitive in this league, but we need to be more clinical than we were today.
  19. If it helps the detective work, he seemed pally with the Dumbarton no 3 as the subs left the pitch at the end of half time.
  20. It’s just not right to use the Capri name for that!
  21. Mine was loaded onto my existing card by the helpful lady at the club.
  22. Adam MacKinnon and Flynn Duffy have joined us, midfielder and left back respectively. No word yet of a goalkeeper or Wallace Duffy rejoining.
  23. But Ketan is picking up the August wage bill The club has also confirmed that youngsters Shae Keogh, Ben Corner and Szymon Rebilas have signed contracts. We all knew they had given they’ve featured in the squad all season.
  24. According to the P&J, MacKinnon and a goalie may well be signed today. Duffy also in the frame but sounds less likely to happen today.
  25. As well as those noted by IBM, others on Saturday were Jay Henderson with 2 for Ayr and Anthony MacDonald for Brechin. Shaun Rooney for St Mirren in Europe.
