  1. I agree. He was a decent stand in when we had Meekings and Warren and has gained a lot more game time than he got when with us. We do need a right back, though, unless the plan is Mckay with Toshney as cover, given Robbo’s comments that Toshney can fill in there. Early last season when we had to play a midfielder (Carson) there a couple of times it showed, despite his effort and passion, that we need a specialist full back.
  2. Thanks for that. Wikipedia just gives League goals so presumably 14 league and 4 cup?
  3. I agree and would give us a bit more strength in depth. We do need a right back though!
  4. Having seen how much Coll Donaldson likes getting the better of United, I bet he enjoyed scoring the opener against them today. Sounds like it was a good finish too. He wouldn’t have been as happy by the time United got in front though! Tremarco came off the bench today for, I think, his debut Rooney, on his first start to St Johnstone, was culpable for the Kilmarnock opener by missing someone running through on his blindside. He was subbed soon after but would have been relieved they got two late goals to bail him out.
  5. From the same source, Shane Sutherland has scored 52 goals in his last 91 appearances in the last 4 seasons, admittedly after a lower level. Toddy has 15 career goals, 3 with us last season. Who should be our first pick striker? Sutherland should get the first chance in my opinion.
  6. Being scanning wikipedia tonight. Interesting that Miles has scored 14 goals for us, half his career total, 11 in 30 in his loan spell and 3 in 27 last season. His other 14 came in 157 appearances with other clubs, so he has been most prolific with us. Given he generally played up front in his loan spell, Alan Simpson may be right that if we played him as a striker we would see the beat of him. That said, I’m still not convinced by his heading ability.
  7. It was the name New Bayview Park that made me think that. Turns out it was new 22 years ago. Not sure how old Jack is.... lol.... .https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayview_Stadium
  8. Is their ground not quite new, so possibly the hill was at their old one?
  9. A defensive midfielder so I agree, a direct replacement for Trafford. Just a one year deal: https://ictfc.com/scott-allardice-signs-for-ictfc Now we need a right back!
  10. Draper a scorer for County tonight.
  11. Just had a look at the BBC Sport app for tonight’s games. Five of our former players started in tonight’s matches and all five have been booked! Donaldson, Draper (who also scored) and Vigurs for County, McCart for St Johnstone and White for Motherwell. Polworth, Mckay and Rooney used as subs by Motherwell, County and St Johnstone.
  12. He’s a defensive midfielder so quite possibly a target.
  13. The Highland Hospice has been announced as the club’s charity partner for the new season: a very worthy cause: https://ictfc.com/highland-hospice-become-official-charity-partner-for-2020-21
  14. No surprise and the right decision. I heard the FM’s comments at lunchtime and she was scathing. All players and clubs must heed this or the game will be shut down again. The players involved should be sacked by their clubs and the clubs heavily fined if points cannot be deducted. They have shamed the word professional and do not deserve the inflated salaries they earn. Clubs like ours may suffer greatly by their selfish and petulant stupidity. There is a list on the BBC website of the “Aberdeen 8” which includes Jonny Hayes.
  15. I don’t think the games have been postponed yet, but a clear message from the FM: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-53736447
  16. No reason, just going by Robbo’s comments. As things stand, we have one player who can play right back (Mckay), four who can play centre back (Mckay, Toshney, Deas and McHattie) and row who can play left back (Harper and McHattie) so reasonable cover apart from right back. That assumes Deas, as a left sided player, cannot play right back.
  17. Billy Mckay scores today at Hamilton as County stated joint top: oh dear. Interestingly, Polly an unused sub by Motherwell. Looks like now Turnbull is fit, he may not be a first choice despite all his assists last season. White did come off the bench and had a goal disallowed, but I don’t know the reason.
  18. Robbo targeting a right back according to the article posted earlier so we have 6 defenders in general squad. Can’t see another central defender being brought in.
  19. I hadn’t realised Don Cowie had retired from playing in June. He remains at County as a coach.
  20. I think Sutherland will do a good job for us. He’s a natural finisher so should be more prolific than recent strikers. Todorov may get a run in the team also and show us what he’s capable of. I suspect Storey will continue to play wide where his pace can hurt defences. He just needs to be a bit less selfish when he has the ball and, if played up front, learn how to head it!!
  21. According to the BBC, the rules don’t allow the game to be awarded to St Johnstone.
  22. Was he queueing or enforcing? If queueing, enough said!!
  23. I agree, which is why awarding them a 3-0 win would have been the right action given this has stemmed from Aberdeen players ignoring the instructions given to clubs.
  24. A correct decision surely, as some of the 8 confirmed or isolating may already have passed it to other players or back room staff, so St Johnstone players and back room staff could be at risk.
  25. The First Minister publicly criticised the players today. Under the circumstances, awarding St Johnstone a 3-0 win would seem appropriate.
