  1. I'm gutted: I had hoped for the Sunday as I have a birthday meal on the Saturday. Is it on tv?
  2. Was the ref Welsh? Not having seen Mckay's first booking again, which from posts may have been wrong, I thought he was a cut above the refs I have seen this season, and was pretty even handed.

There was a very long delay before he could take it, but he should have at least hit the target. The way Polly was fired and riled up, perhaps he should have taken it? Atkeast that would have stopped him getting his booking....
  4. If it is 24 or 25 March as planned, I need it to be the Sunday, preferably in Oerth as I am at a birthday party on the Saturday evening.
  5. I was worried going in to this one and, despite our early goal, Crusaders had the best of the opening exchanges, We then took control, with Polworth (best 45 from him in a long time) and a Vigurs controlling things. All three goals looked well taken from where I was sitting, and it could easily have been 5 or 6 by half time. We could easily have shipped a couple too, though. The second half was a shocker, with only Ridgers doing well: he kept us in it as we allowed ourselves to be outplayed and could not keep the ball. I was surprised at the niggle between the teams, and there could have been more cards. I taped it and want to see Mckay's first booking, but he deserved the second card. Their winger had the beating of him every time. That was a masterclass in how to nearly turn a comfortable lead into a defeat with a 45 minute horror show: we need to be better against Morton next week, But, we are in a final, and can hopefully lift our season with some silver wear. Last word for the pitch, what a mess! Towards the north stand, the ball failed to bounce a few times, saving us on one occasion, and it was debatable if it was playable. I can see more postponements unless we get a long dry spell.
  6. Dean Ebbe did what he could not do last season: score against a Scottish team.....
  7. That's an honest and genuine update, indicating a desire to protect the long term future whilst striving to return to the top level. We are a small club and need to find a way to live within our means and maximise our achievements. I am heartened by the statement. Roll on Sunday, assuming the pitch is playable.
  8. They are third bottom of their league at present with 18 points from 23 games. Astra sit fourth with 41 points.
  9. Credit to Ross Tokely and Brora. Holding Killie back until nearly half time and definitely not disgraced. I am keen to see the highlights, including the "crowd invasion" by the players.
  10. I'd prefer a draw, that minimises the points team above us pick up. Everyone will take points off everyone else, so the fewer teams out of sight the better. Everyone from 2nd to 8th will feel they can get a play off place.

He was an unused sub today. Boden started and played the full game. Wrexham are top, in the automatic promotion place.
  12. I was brought up in Fort William, but before they joined the Highland League and enjoyed home cup games. As an aside, they have doubled their points total for the season today with a 1-1 home draw with Clach. As Claggan Park is regularly waterlogged, how ironic that it was playable and our pitch was not. We seem to be having far more issues with water this season than in recent years.

Also with Gary Warren, he is on the February page of the club calendar.
  14. I'm in London due to work, but with 7 votes cast and all for Mark Ridgers, does that indicate how tonight's game was!! We need to focus on Saturday now and a vital game for our play off hopes.

And great to hear him speak so positively about his time me here!
  16. I can't argue with any of Robbo's comments, just hope he and the players can now deliver on it! I can't go on Tuesday as working, but hopefully we get a great result then and against United next weekend. Incredibly we are still close to the play offs, although others have games in hand, but it is within our own control if we can get a grip of the discipline and get a winning run going. As for Mulraney, that was a disgraceful few minutes..... No one can defend him.

They are in promotion contention, and Tranmere is really a derby match for them. Great to see him get a team close to his home. Hopefully he gets a longer deal and a chance to start a coaching career.
  18. And got on as a sub.
  19. If Trafford doesn't make it and we don't risk Doran, what about: Ridgers Mckay, Warren, Donaldson, Calder Mulraney, Seedorf, Chalmers, Bell Oakley, Austin
  20. I'd make a much better ref than most I've seen this season!! Lol.....
  21. Sorry about the misinformation. I did not see him in the warm up but Daniel Mackay was out warming up so assumed there had been a late change. I assume he was being protected before the game due to his illness.
  22. We did really well in the first half and were the better team. We could have had a couple more, although in fairness we could also have conceded a couple. For example, just before half time, Oakley had a great chance but could not take it. The second half was bossed by Dundee until after their second, and we were probably lucky to stay in it. Ridgers had several decent stops. The guys dug deep and played their way back in to it, and got a deserved equaliser with Oakley capitalising on a defensive mix up. We came close a couple of times before then, particularly a Bell header that the keeper saved well, and a Polworth shot. A great celebration from the team at that goal, and they seemed delighted with the noisy support, from all 347 of us (according to the tannoy announcer). We largely matched Dundee and can hopefully win the replay a week on Tuesday. Well done one and all, and I hope Trafford recovers quickly after what seemed a bad one.
  23. I’m at the game. Polworth not amongst the subs. Young MacKay there in his place. Injury?
  24. I'm really looking forward to this one. Both teams are on good runs, and we are probably quite evenly matched. Our last trip to Dens was a great evening, even if a false dawn, but can give us confidence. And I'd forgotten it was Dundee that Hamilton thrashed at the end of the season to condemn us to our fate. Hopefully a decent, noisy away crowd to encourage the players.
  25. Ricky Calder is named in the SPFL Team of the Week this week. Well done Ricky!
