  1. Its all a bit confusing but I see no mention in the linked article of Rangers taking action against the SFA. http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11781/7794238/Rangers-consider-options
  2. My understanding is that Green has indicated that the club may go back to the court of session to ask for the original sanction to be nulled or to have the courts decision reversed and Rangers accept the original punishment. The administrators did not read the rule book prior to taking action and all at Rangers are now very fearful that punishment meted out under FIFA guidelines could be a lot worse than suffering a year of no signings. Not just for Rangers but for Scottish football as a whole. I think they now realise that their actions could affect the clubs in european competition and they need to reverse that possibility.
  3. And just what is his standard? Have you seen him play? The fact is the SPL standard has dropped so much its probably on a parr with the Conference.
  4. That was the cost in 09. Probably double that now.
  5. They finished 19th in BS Conference Premier.
  6. Aye but we rescued him at a very young age. Dont think he ever played first team for them.
  7. Barrowman has been told he can find a new club Barrowman has being heavily linked with the gypos across the bridge So they'd take him back after leaving them twice? Must be desperate.
  8. Aye lets look at Fort William and Wick. Maybe even yon Speyside Thistle team that Marty Wares has affiliations to.
  9. Ronaldo, as well as a restuarant and banqueting suite McDairmid has nine conference suites. They also provide all the electronics etc necessary for a conference. They have all weather pitches and they have an easy link to the roads network. I dont believe there are many clubs with all those facilities and it shows the foresite they had when Asda built it for them. As for the guy at the door selling season tickets. I'm sure that could be made to happen if you want to volunteer your free time. ICT ice cream?? That would be a first.
  10. I'm quite sure there are good footballers come through the League of Wales just as there are through Highland league / Div 3.
  11. That is another positive at Perth. There is a business club affiliated to the football club. They are a group of local business people who do what they can within their business's and social circles to help the club both financially and by providing services. As CD says though the St Johnstone infrastructure is very different to ours. The facilities are far superior to what we have and are used on a daily basis. If only I could get that Euromillions jackpot this week.
  12. Looking at their accounts to 31st May 2011 they are actually a fairly well off club. Cash in bank = £1,095,904. Liabilities = £498,895. Assets = £1,842,945. Net Worth = £1,952,514. They have a very successful lottery that builds up a decent jackpot very quickly. Last weeks winner scooped £16,500. Tickets are sold in every pub in perth as well as a number of shops. They also have a very successful banqueting and conferencing business. All of which was built into the stadium they got for free. They make money from renting out their all weather pitches and have a constant stream of people dining at the stadium every day.
  13. Yeh but its all geared up to meet Nadal in semi-final and I honestly dont think there is anyone out there who can beat him in the form he's in at the minute.
  14. Bear in mind also that the difference between 10th and 7th (our position last season) is around £180,000. St Johnstone dont have much better marketing than us. The difference with them this season is they finished 4 places above us giving them £240,000 extra. They are also budgeting on getting a few extra quid from a european tie.
  15. The only thing your links prove dougal is that at least one person living in Inverness supports Aberdeen and runs a website and another does the same for County. As for County having a bigger support. That wont happen simply because they will find themselves in exactly the same situation as ICT. When the novelty wears of the support will fall.
  16. Has he done his coaching badges and would Andy MacLeod not object?
  17. almost?????????? and you missed the a.
  18. Barcelona will not sign any player to first team under 18 because they believe that to be the best age to start their intigration into first team football. Even then only a very select few make it to starting 11. Do we have any youths that are capable of the step up? Because that is the key. They have to be of a mature enough body and mind to go straight from youth to top flight otherwise they could be harmed physically and mentally.
  19. If there was ever a post highlighting the lack of season tickets purchased to date this is it When the club shop resorts to pleading requests it's a fair indication that things aren't too rosey in the garden Dougal Christ dougal must everything be negative in you eyes. Do you not think that maybe the club shop are just reminding people that time is running out for early bird deals? Just as they have done every other season.
  20. Where does this 'temporary' stand come from. These stands are far from temporary.
  21. Ross, Sutherland, Shinnie, Morrison......are they not the product of our youth system.
  22. Agree with Gordie. I think the Director of Football has been done away with. There is no mention of the position on the official website nor in last years accounts.
  23. Mr Butcher do you remember your words at the relegation ball. "If only I had a team of Ross Tokely's". Like everyone else I believe Rossco could have done us proud for another season. On the point of loanee's is it not the case that often they dont cost anything as the club loaning them out does so for development purposes much as we are paying Gavin Morrison to go to Iceland. The one problem with loanee's though is that they generally aren't available for pre-season.
  24. Hey look on the bright side Alex the above predicament of the club will bring back memories of supporting your club in the so called great days of yore you keep harping on about Thistle all end in tears Dougal Dont think you'll ever find a post where I harped on about the great days of yore.
  25. People, people, people, no need to bring in the bitchiness. Everyone has a viewpoint but some are not seeing the big picture. It doesn't matter if its Butcher or Baker at the helm. The fact is we cant afford the calibre of player we need for this league. Christ, if we cant afford to keep Rossco, and I'd wager he was on not much more than a grand a week, then we cant afford to be in the market. For the last few seasons we've had to find financial bale-outs of 1/4 million just to make ends meet. I predict this club will be back in the lower leagues and part time in the not too distant future. Nobody has money to invest and gates are dropping. There are no assets to mortgage and the level of interest for football in the Highlands does not match the national average per head of population.
