When will our injuries ease up
There does seem to be problems with injury, and not just our team, but what is different in training now to what was done in the past? I'm sure the players have fitness coaches that work with them when in the gym. I'm also sure that the on field training is pretty much the same as its always been. The matches have always been played at pace but actual physical contact is less than in the past. So, assuming that the training and playing regimes are not to blame, and I'm sure many experts will back that side up, then there are a couple of other possibilities. Diet.......We are all, generally, eating more 'healthily' nowadays. Cutting out the things the experts say are bad for us and only eating what they say are good. Are people, as a result of this, missing out on nutrients that strengthen our bodies. So called 'energy drinks' and 'energy supplements' are a big part of a sportsman's regime nowadays. Are these giving sportsmen a false sense of fitness? i.e the caffeine highs masking the true development of the muscles? Boots... Are the modern football boots designed for fashion or purpose? Do they give the right support and balance or are they worn because they look good?

Tom Aldred has left the building
Aldred came to Inverness expecting to be in the starting line-up every game. It didn't work out that way so he has chosen to leave in the hope of finding a club who will give him the games he wants. Thats his choice and we must respect that and move on from it. What we must also do is get a settled team together and get playing football again.

Ayr v ICT matchnight thread
One of the problems at the moment is the players who have come in are finding the style and pace of Scottish football difficult to get to grips with. I also think thats part of the reason for so many injuries. Those who came last year and before that had the same problems. I'm sure they will all get to grips with it soon.

Ayr v ICT matchnight thread
From what I read of tonight we had numerous chances in the second half but just couldn't score. That say that things are almost right but just not quite. We need a goal scorer and hopefully we'll find one. As for theories about losing dressing room etc. I think not. There's only Tokely and Proc left of the so-called old guard and I doubt either of them are against the manager.

BBC Stats Possession - Ayr 53% Us 47% On Target - Ayr 6 Us 2 Off Target - Ayr 4 Us 3 Corners - Ayr 6 Us 2 Fouls - Ayr 4 Us 9 Yellow for Gollie Seems like we are sh!te once again and discipline has been left at home. Either that or Mr Winter is following the same orders as all the other refs we've had this season.

Shane Sutherland
The way I see it at the minute is that we have three strikers available and Foran/Tade seems to be the preffered option. Shane will start, and probably soon, but which of the other two does he partner or does he play the lone role?

Halkirk United 0-1 Inverness CT (LIVE)
It is not inconcievable that Tom wanted the game to give himself more match time. Maybe the coaching team felt he'd be a good leader for the lads. Not everything has a sinister reason.

ICT's Performance This Season
Laurance has come up here from the south and chose, at some point last season, to start supporting the local team. Ever since then he has done nothing but nit-pick performances and slate the team. Trying to compare us with whats on offer down south and being disappointed by what he has witnessed. Laurance, we are a Scottish team in a Scottish league playing a Scottish style of football. If thats not good enough for you then so be it. Your contribution to the club and this forums will not be missed.

Aberdeen -V- ICT : matchday thread
Not sure why Golobart was signed other than the hope that maybe we can adapt him in his centre forward role. Taking onboard what bish is saying I had a look at the first team squad Strikers v Defence. In defence we have Aldred, Gillet (injured) Golobart, Hogg, Meekings (injured), Piermayr, Proctor (injured), Shinnie. G, Tokely, Smith............and the strike force is Foran Mckay (injured), Sutherland, Tade Seems to me there is a serious imbalance in the squad and we probably need at least two more strikers to balance things out.

Give the guy a chance. He came through the Spanish youth system before continuing in the English one. Yesterday he was thrown into his first ever experience of the Scottish system. One that took many of our current players by surprise, including Hayes, Doran and Rooney, before they got to grips with it and shone.

Keep the faith
First ever season in SPL we had 4 points from the first eleven games, and everyone had written us off, yet we finished that season in 8th with 44 points. 07/08 season we lost our first six league games yet still finished 9th with 43 points. There is a long way to go yet and we have the players that can pull us up the table. We just need to get them all fit again then it'll all come good.

Shane Sutherland
Is that because Shane changes the game or is it because we're chasing it by that point?

Aberdeen -V- ICT : matchday thread
Many different comments and viewpoints but, for me, there is one that everyone seems to miss. Generally a bad team is one that cant string two good games together. Our problem is we cant string two good halves together. It shouldn't take a rollicking at half time for players to come out and perform. They should be doing it from the start.

There are many many under 21 players proving to be very successful in English and Spanish leagues. We in Scotland have been so used to seeing teams of hasbeens playing in a league that is stooping to a standard of football that is becoming as good as that of Irish league that we are failing to realise that those U-21's can actually play decent football.

NEW INVESTMENT IN ICTFC
What I see and believe is niether conspiracy nor underhand dealings. I see the board realising the club is in a bit of a short term predicament at the moment because of a heavily depleted squad due to injury. I see those board members and shareholders that have a small amount of cash at their disposal getting together to put that cash into the squad pot in exchange for some of the unissued shares in the club. I dont see any of them doing this to safeguard anything or to dilute what would be available to any other investors and am sure that those who are providing the funds just now have the long term best interest of the club at the heart of their decisions.

DLA Concessions?
I think all the points, advice etc. have been made on the OP's subject and, as such, feel that any further comments will turn to a more personal nature. The thread will now be closed until such time as mods can decide if it would erve any purpose to re-open it.

Sending off in goal scoring opportunity.
Video evidence is something that Doncaster has no say in. FIFA are the body who need to approve such. Indeed there are a couple of companies in the process of researching the feasability of such things. The SFA are responsible for all scottish referee's and it is that body who needs to look more closely at the performances of refs.
