  1. My reaction p!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!sh. Aberdeen cant sort their debts let alone find funds, or a benevolent businessman, for Mckay. I do, however, note that they are vying with Hibs to get Rooney on loan.
  2. I'd like to think that this is not Orion pulling out but more the club looking at other options. Orion sponsorship came at a time when we needed a cash injection to balance the books but is not anywhere near what we should be getting for a shirt deal. We get a lot of publicity nowadays and should be able to get a far better deal.
  3. Ahh the Scots Guards..........think its the only Scottish regiment still to retain its name though it operates under the guise of 12th Armoured Infantry Brigade. Nobody from either side of the debate has offered an answer to the question of military presence in Scotland other than the scaremongers who haven't a clue but spout of anyway. This is one of those areas that will be negotiated if the referendum returns a YES majority. My understanding, from a fairly prominent MSP is that there aretwo options here. Scotland goes it alone being the only one getting aired. The other is that a British military would be retained as at present and that financing of such would be shared.
  4. And where are you from? Inverness. Just having a laugh... There was a prolonged and clearly audible chant which referred to the referee as both a horse's backside and a certain male organ which may have to be edited out for the precious BBC Alba-viewing public. No not quite. The producers are having extreme difficulty translating the Aberdonian words into gaelic
  5. Question is this. The guy has been out for quite some time with a bad injury. Will he be as good as he was? Do we take a chance and persuade him to stay or do we let him go and free up a wage?
  6. Nick has not been slated because he missed a penalty but because there is no end product at the end of his neat and tidy play. All too often he has shot towards goal and every time they lack power and conviction. He has scored twice..........whoop dee doo, get him knighted. Both were penalties and one of them should have been saved. Get back to me when he starts contributing regularly in open play instead of shirking tackles and aerial presence and lacking power. Stop throwing yer toys out of the pram, someone had to say it sooner or later. Your rose tinted specs are starting to grate. His link play is generally good, he does not often waste balls, but for me he needs to man up big style. If that hurts, then so be it, but it is the opinion that I will stick by at the moment until he shows me otherwise. No manny my rose tinted specs are working fine. Indeed you wouldn't believe how much they see when Nick doesn't have the ball. Things like his runs into space and his drawing defenders away from the play. I'll maybe give you a lone of them sometime. Lets fatten the lad up and slow him down. That should get more out of him.
  7. So a Burnley fan is watching Billy................does he have a million?
  8. If we dont beat the current Hearts team in 90 mins then we dont deserve to be in a final. Penalties or no.
  9. Nick Ross failed to score a penalty so now he gets slated. Lets all forget the fact that he's scored twice this season. Has assisted in a few and generally has played well. Lets just blame him for us not winning yesterday in a game that we apparently dominated but couldnt beat their keeper in. In fact lets drop him and stop trying to bring through local talent. Why the hell would we put a first team regular out on loan to a lower league? Get real people.
  10. My niece works in it (and she's an ICT fan!) and it does very well apparently. It's also I believe the only place locally that does the 'proper' shirt numbers and names. Not much of an ICT fan if you ask me, I'd rather be signing on than being on the pay roll for one of the old firm With your fondness for the other side of darkness that must hurt though lol Dougal Some folk will take any job to earn a proper wage rather than sponge of the honest hard working taxpayer.
  11. So whats the problem with letting Nick continue. Penalty taking is an art that requires a lot of courage. I admire Nick for stepping to the plate and dont see any reason why he shouldnt continue. His penalty yesterday was saved. He's taken three, had three on target and scored two. During yesterdays game the team had 12 shot with 8 on target and scored 1. That makes Nicks penalty taking record better than the teams goal scoring record. Dont break his confidence. Encourage him and maybe he'll become the best penalty taker we've ever seen.
  12. Seems odd that Tansey, after 22 starts this season, would be put out on loan but I suppose thats football. Maybe a better option could be the lad James Dunne who's fallen out of favour and has been transfer listed. Apparantly he's an excellent playmaker as an attacking mid.
  13. Quality and not quantity is what breeds success and happiness. Its not about size but how you use it. Small countries around the world are able to vouch for that. Where are all the big industrial projects in the modern world? South Korea. A country of similar size to Scotland though, admittedly, with a population equal to the whole of the UK yet it still maintains vast areas of unadulterated natural beauty. SK is the sixth largest exporter of goods in the world. GB is tenth. SK is at the forefront of the worlds ship building and oil production platform building. Indeed the replacement for BP's Schiehallion FPSO is being built there. It is also at the forefront in the manufacture of industrial equipment as well as motor manufacture. All this is achieved under the threat of their border neighbour. Better Together tell us we mustn't break away because bigger is better. The original founders of the EEC thought that and look at the state many european countries are in now. What other reasons do they give us for staying together? Absolutely none. Why? Because if they answered that question truthfully they'd disassociate many more from their ranks. The real truth is that Scotland does not need a government in Westminster to survive and prosper. The real truth is that the government in Westminster needs taxes from north of the border to help get Britian out of the vast debts created by successive Westminster governments. We as an independant country will survive. We will prosper. We will develop. We will trade with England and the rest of the world. But most of all we will hold our heads high and say we done it on our own.
  14. A fact to consider............Britian has oil and is in very serious debt. Norway has had the same oil for the same amount of time and, through hedging proceeds of that oil away for a rainy day, whilst still maintaining a control on budgets, spending and borrowing, is now in a position where they could, effectively, make every man, woman and child residing in that country a millionaire. What are they going to do?...................Come along and develop jobs and industry on those lands? Did you voice opinion when Westminster overruled everyone else in favour of SSE and allowed the Beauly to Denny power line with its desecration of our wonderful scenic and tranquil Cairngorm National Park
  15. I can't believe the people who contribute to many of the threads on this site. Not so long ago folks were complaining because we were giving short contracts and now they complain about long ones. Is it an Invernessian mannerism? Glass always half empty and all that.
  16. Sorry mannie but I see no rumour in this. Just a few folk suggesting who, of the players recently released from other clubs, could do a job for us.
  17. Rosco was a smoker. Personally I think this could be a good move for the club. Could also be a link to loans from europe.
  18. Both have signed extensions to end of 2015/16 season according to BBC. Was Tremarco already signed to end of next season thus the mention of one year extension?
  19. He lives in Hackney London and is prepared to travel all over the country so long as the distance is no more than two miles
  20. Billy-Bob McKay!! Night Billy Bob......Night Johnboy
  21. Hows about Kevin Thompson? Personally I dont think we'll be signing anyone from outside. I'm sure Yogi said he'd rather concentrate on getting what he has on longer deals. i.e Williams and Tremarco.
  22. Rival, we have found some good players in the lower English leagues. We also get them at a wage we can afford. It would be great to be in a position to afford the players you'd like to see but, with our turnover, it aint likely to happen. we had loanee's from higher standard league and what happened to them?
  23. Bit early to think of what to do with prize fund which is made up of Scot Gov contribution of £1m + sponsorship + TV monies. I believe the figure for going out in first round to be around 12,500 so looking at the likely funds against the 42 teams I believe the winners money to be around £100k. Last 4 also share semi and final gate reciepts + TV monies. My guestimate is a windfall of maybe £250k.
  24. Eoin chose to go there to work with Paul Cook at a time of unrest and instability at Hibs. Is that such a bad thing? Instead of slagging of lower leagues perhaps its time to slag of the big leagues who are dominating the football finances. Prize money for PL £17m, for L1 and L2 around £25k. Thats one helluva discrepancy. Just like the discrepancies between the OF and the rest of Scottish football. For players they have to make a living and choose where best to play, bearing in mind that only an exceptional few have what it takes for the top flight and theres more players than jobs around. Perhaps thats why your involvement in the game revolves around obscure never heard of clubs in obscure never heard of leagues.
