Think I'd probably buy some land along the Longman. I'd then have a one stand stadium designed that looked totally unfinished. I'd add a couple of stands behind the goals and also add some unuseable terracing to finish of the fourth side. Joking aside I'd be looking at the Bught and spending around 30 million or so on a sporting complex. 10k oval stadium + 4G pitches, indoor arena, tennis courts, fitness suite etc.

Can someone please tell me when the UK government has ever subsidised the cost of recovering hard-to-get oil. The government sells the licences to explore. It then takes taxes from every barrel removed. Granted some tax breaks have been given for the continued production from some older areas but certainly no subsidies. Todays news from the Cameron camp emphasised the drop in revenues for last year over the previous year. What they failed to tell us was that some older platforms were shut in for longer than normal for major refurbishment so production was down. They failed to tell that their hosts for the day (BP) have invested over a billion on its most northerly field to extend its life for a further 30 years. Further billions on two new platforms for its established West of Shetland fields and is spending further billions on Atlantic exploration and production planning. That is just one of the many major companies involved in investing billions around our shores and none of them are doing so just for the sake of spending their cash. And nor are they seeking government handouts to assist them.

The only thing I'd say about saturday is that as the game went on it was crying out for a Nick Ross and when he came on we began to dominate more.

Another clever poll Charles. "support has dipped across the north and north east". Are they telling us that this is a poll of a cross section of the population of the whole of the north and north east. I doubt it. More likely sent someone to a town centre somewhere. Also 500 is hardly an accurate reflection of the population. As far as these polls go I'd be willing to bet that if I carried out a poll in say Elgin and then another in Huntly I'd get two different sets of results. The only poll thats going to tell us accurately how the country will vote is the one being held in September across the whole country.

Hasnt been allowed in the past. Will try and suss it out on Saturday if you want? Thanks but, on reflection, will probably make other arrangements. Unlikely as it doesn't serve food and, as far as my knowledge of licencing law goes, I believe its only establishments that serve food that are allowed to admit children.

Germany has to be favourites to win the group. Of the rest I think results against Gibraltar aren't going to count. The hope is that the Poland, Scotland, Ireland and Georgia will take points of each other and may even take a point of Germany. For us I think we need to win our home games against Poland Ireland and Georgia and hope to pick up something away against one of them. A point from Germany over the two games would also help. Going to be very hard but we do have a squad of players coming through that are better than what we've had for quite a while.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26307282?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter At this moment we sit seven points behind Aberdeen and have two games in hand over them. Aberdeen have shown today that they will drop points so I believe catching them is a strong possibility.

Matchday Thread St Johnstone v Inverness CT
Alex MacLeod replied to jagster's topic in Caley Thistle
As Yngwie say's the farmers were pretty poor today. We started out well with some good football in the first ten to fifteen minutes but then things became a bit stale with poor passing and not enough movement. Defence was very good though and Dean was just Brill. Eventually the goal came and the second half wasn't much better but we held on and took the three points. Its fair to say there was some good bits of play from us but also a lot of very basic mistakes. Pitch was a bit bobbly in places and that didn't help the passing game but we need to stop the errors.- 65 replies

I'm really not sure. Maybe before the Dundee United cup game, or right before the split starts, just anything that would give us better preparation for the final really What better preparation for the final than a training session against Hibs.

There seems to be a problem with registered privileges. I tried online, then phoned the ticket hotline and spoke to a guy who told me I had no privileges. Shareholder, shirt sponsor, centenary club member and CJT member but not registered as such. Sent e-mail to club and got a very nice reply and apology from Kristine Fraser. Ticket office has been hectic since opening this morning and people need to be patient and keep trying. If phoning hotline number (08448471888) select option 2 (renew season ticket) and you'll get through to an operator. If you have registered privileges you can purchase online. Kristine's friendly assistance has secured me two tickets at face value + £2 postage.

Not sure how being as the UK is abbreviation of United Kingdoms of Great Britian and Northern Ireland. If Scotland wins independence then there is no United Kingdoms of Great Britian. rUK does not need Scotland..........that is not quite true either. The rest of UK will continue to be dependant on Scotland to meet their electricity, gas, water and cereal needs as well as other foodstuffs. They are also highly unlikely to suddenly stop drinking whisky. We also export large amounts of minerals from mining and quarrying. This includes 100,000 tonnes of silica from Lochaline to Merseyside for specialist glass making. None of that is going to suddenly stop.

Warning to owner of a carpark near stadium
Alex MacLeod replied to 12th Man's topic in Caley Thistle
Owning the property gives them lawful authority to secure said property. If cars are parked on private property without property owners consent then locking them in would not be seen in law as impounding. Drivers take that risk when they park on private property. -
Warning to owner of a carpark near stadium
Alex MacLeod replied to 12th Man's topic in Caley Thistle
The law in Scotland, as I understand it, say's that the owners of private property cannot clamp or remove a vehicle with the object of charging the owner for it's release. It say's nothing about securing the property with a vehicle inside. If I have a driveway and someone decides to park in it there is nothing in law that prevents me from closing and locking the gate. Same applies to any private property. -
Considering CJT are the fans and are likely to stump up the shortfall as well as subsidise the buses I see no reason why they shouldn't have their logo. I also know that CJT have been looking into getting a flag long before this current idea came to fruition. As for the Thistle badge........Its a perfect perch for that dumb eagle

Everyone is chipping in to buy a surf flag and we've stuck you down for £100 contribution as we knew you weren't around and we didn't want you to miss out. Cheers CD. £100 sent

Can someone explain what this is about and how much is needed. I've been away from computer for a few weeks and haven't managed to get through every thread yet. Cheers

Warning to owner of a carpark near stadium
Alex MacLeod replied to 12th Man's topic in Caley Thistle
Car park money will be pooled with gate reciepts and other generated cash. Matchday expenses will then be paid and whats left goes in the bank. If we assume that 500 cars are parked of a typical matchday then £1500 is generated. Stewarding for carpark alone is probably around £15 an hour per person. Say six stewards for four hours. £360. The rest to club. All guesstimates.
