  1. Well dinnae just talk aboot it. Write it. Maybe you could then merge it with HMS Sneck and call it HMS Snerger.
  2. Full squad on the market. Banned from signing. Banks administrators wanting money. Shortage of housing in centre of Edinburgh. Will there be a HoM is senior Scottish football next season? Hearts are in a totally different situation than Rangers were in that their majority shareholder is, technically, the administrators of two foriegn companies. People without interest in shoring up a failed football club and a great deal of interest in re-couping monies for the failed banks involved. Must be a lot of squeeky bums down Gorgie way.
  3. Is that Lukas Podolski who was born in Gliwise, Poland? Or the Albanian born Xherdan Shaqiri?
  4. Yup - against Aberdeen and we got relegated that season. We tend to do well if we've had a slow start. Odd. 05/06 won 2-0 away to Falkirk. Both goals from Craig Brewster
  5. Modern parenting......................Wrap in cotton wool. Dont allow out of sight. Dont allow out of doors unless accompanied by trusted adult. Stick in bedroom with video games and dvd's to keep from under feet.
  6. Waaaaayyyyyyyy to much blue. It may decieve the contours of some people but miracles I think not
  7. From this.........http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11795/8193896/A-host-of-clubs-are-chasing-Inverness-Caledonian-Thistle-attacker-Kyle-Whyte .............to Clach It is probably unfair to make fun of this simply because none of us know the reasoning and circumstances behind his decisions. It may well be that he wants to do other things besides football and doesnt want a professional contract.
  8. Our youth set up is not the problem. The problem lies in the fact there are no truly talented players being found in the region. The same applies at other clubs. Look at the clubs with the high percentages now and compare that with a season or two ago and I'll bet they're vastly different. Those clubs have been forced into using their own youth because of budget cuts. Cuts brought about by the demise of an ugly twin. Kirishima hits the nail on the head. Lack of support from schools and teaching staff holds some blame for our current situation. Couple that with the majority who prefer to sit in front of some electronic device rather than get out and about and kick a ball. Add in parents who encourage the latter because they themselves are too lazy to give their kids proper care and upbringing. So much easier to send them to their room with a video game or DVD than it is to actually bring them up in a healthy, balanced environment.
  9. Naw!!! Naw!!! Naw!!! You cannot be a Caley Stag.............Stags are our sworn enemy.
  10. We may well have a low wage to turnover ratio but to say we are the most cost effective is maybe not the case. Yes we try to operate within our budget but we have had to depend on loans the last few seasons to meet those budgets. We dont own our stadium so pay rent for what we will never own. As a business football is never going to be cost effective. There is no profit. There is no return for the shareholder and more often than not expenditure exceeds income so a reliance on benevolence becomes the norm. What do I mean by that? Clubs like ours cannot generate income to cover their expenditure so they need the commitment and generosity of many people to subsidise this. Player sponsorship being a prime example. Shrewd business acumen yes. Cost effective no.
  11. Considering a bus would be required for two days and would need two drivers I doubt the cost could be justified. Nor do I think it could be filled.

  13. I think Cheyne is from Aberdeen. Talking of which, there are far more Aberdonians in the Dons first team squad than we have Invernessians in ours. Are we comparing those born in Aberdeen against those born in Inverness? Or is it those who came through the youth systems of either club? If former then, considering Aberdeen has a vastly greater population, we are pretty much on par. If latter then they may just edge it by one or two.
  14. 9 English, 8 Scots, 5 Irish and 2 Northern Irish. Just need a Welshman now to make up the five nations
  15. None of the four players kept on were a keeper? Cheyne, Ferguson, Christie and Polworth Those four were signed to first team. I think fraser is referring to players promoted to U-20
  16. The fact is, and probably the reason for this being binned, that the above interpretation would be the one seen by the courts if the SFA were challenged. We have banter with people from across the bridge. We call them Gypsy knowing full well that they are not. They call is the Tinks of the dump knowing the same thing. Therefore there can be no actual or percieved membership so no racism. The law that the police try to threaten fans with would also be thrown out of court for the very same reasons. I'm all for anything that stops sectarianism, including the removal of certain banners and flags from Stadia and the banning of the singing of blatant hate songs. I'm also for anything that prosecutes and punishes the perpetrators of such and the punishment of those who use monkey chants etc towards black players. The trouble there is that its very difficult to pinpoint the perpetrator unless he or she is shopped by those around. Much easier to stem banter. In light of us signing another Northern Ireland born player can I take this opportunity to point out that the red hand flag is the flag of the Unionist and not the flag of Northern Ireland as one or two of our fans appear to think. The recognised, though not official, flag of Northern Ireland is red saltire on white background.
  17. What I see is signing seven players to replace those we let go. To answer Kingsmills concerns and the BBC comment highlighted by Yngwie...........we signed Polworth, Christie, Cheynne and Ferguson.........are they not local lads? We have Esson, Raven, Meekings, Warren, Shinnie, Doran, Ross, Draper, Foran and MacKay.....all with significant SPL experience. We are holding onto as many experienced players for next season as we have in each and every other season in the last few years. We have brought in as many newbies from lower leagues down south as we have in each of those seasons and we will be as, if not more, successful next season. Our current signing policy won us Div 1 and got us 7th, 10th and 4th in SPL. Considering our budget I think we are doing extremely well and, in case nobody has noticed, we are giving home grown players the opportunity to step up to the mark and challenge for success. More home grown than any other SPL team at that. We have an U-20 team with a number of local lads in it. They are watched in that league and I believe they train with first team. I'm quite sure that if Butcher sees something in them he'll sign them,as he has done already.
  18. Get all the ten to sixteen year olds together in North stand and have them rehearse songs and chants in harmony ready for the new season.
  19. I dont think Vigurs has turned fans off. Nor do I agree that he's been subjected to revulsions and abuse. He's just another ex ICT player being subjected to a bit of friendly banter.
  20. I think someone's having a laugh with the teaser pics. Most of them look like knitted material so either its multi coloured socks or wooly jampars
  21. I just hope Wernick have given permission for their Secure Modular AVflex building to be painted in non corporate colours. Assuming it is on hire.
  22. I'm quite sure this http://arsenaltruth.squarespace.com/arsenal-truth/2012/11/4/arsenals-1434m-wage-bill-exposed.html is not far from the truth. Philip Roberts £750 a week.
  23. Isn't that a shade racist? What is wrong with the bowels of the Scottish/Irish/Welsh League system.... or do you have no faith in the ability of Scottish/Irish/Welsh youth coaches to come across decent players that their own managements think are crap.....or are you just running with the fact that it looks rather as if Marsella only looks for players in English leagues so English players are the only option? Oddquine, first off I fail to see the racistness of Kingsmills comments. Your own comment may have held some credibility were it not for the fact you didn't stop to think before writing. Quite a few of the players we have found in recent times actually started out in Scottish, Irish or Welsh football. Some of them just happened to be playing in England before we discovered them. The fact is that many of the Celtic countries talented youth get snapped up by the better off English clubs at a young age. I think we should be very proud that we can produce two or three talented players of our own each season who can hold their own in SPL. I'd also be prepared to wager that Mr Marsella could be planning a visit or two to Ireland when their league starts next month. And to all those who complain about the k.o. times take a look at the Irish fixture list. http://www.extratime.ie/fixtures/
  24. To quell a couple of myths above. The population of Perth is, as RiG says, around 45,000. The population of the county that is Perth and Kinross is around 150,000. Many of the population are Dundonians who support that city's teams just as many living in Inverness are from across the bridge. McDairmid Park may seem to some to be far out of the town but it is in actual fact slap bang in the middle of some of the most densely populated areas of the city. It has a carpark that is just as difficult to get out of as TCS. If plans for a new link road come to fruition it will lose one of its stands. Only two are ever open for most games. The third if Dundee teams come to visit and the fourth if its OF.
  25. Its whats known as 'BANTER' in football terms. Iain Vigurs probably is a decent person. He has certainly improved his football and his attitude to the game and has done very well at RC. He is also someone who likely enjoys the attention. He smiled and gestured at us when the chants were directed at him. He reacted in good spirit with a smile on his face and he gave as well as he got. Thats BANTER.
