  1. Many folk seem to be puting Foran forward for some role but is he qualified? Has he done any of the coaching badges? As for dougals point about Maurice. I have to agree with him. I know that when Butcher was being suggested for ICT many on here were vocal on the fact that his only success was at Motherwell. Obviously the guy learned a lot between then and coming to us because he has proved us all wrong. Maurice, on the other hand, strikes me as someone only destined for one role and thats the one he's doing. He is a very good coach but has failed as a manager. I dont even get the impression that he'd want the job, regardless of what the sunday ranger says. He excels in what he does but put added pressure in his path and he crumbles.
  2. Yes I do. Hibs want him for what he was able to do at Motherwell without money and what he's been able to do for us without money. In last two years Hibs debt has increased to £6.5 million. Petrie is desperate to get that down to manageable levels quickly so I dont believe Terry will be afforded much cash to spend in transfer markets.
  3. They have bought exclusive rights to Champions League and Europa League matches at a cost of approx £854,000 per match. Bauhaus, the money goes to Uefa not the UK teams and will boost finances to participating clubs throughout europe and also the clubs in the leagues that those participating clubs are members of. Dont think so. They are saying they will make some games free to air. How that will work I don't know unless they plan selling them to one of the freeview / freesat channels.
  4. Are you completely deluded? He sneaked behind our back and agreed terms without permission before Hibs even approached us. He made our chairman look like a fool telling the bbc they were wrong. He didn't even have the balls to step into the dugout. Doesn't surprise me to hear such retarded comments from a H I VEE tbh. Utter bollox ..you are the bitter & deluded one ..hibs were above board in everything they done ..dry yer ******* eyes & get over it !!! My eyes are dry thanks! Can you quit the smack and translate the rest please You shouldn't make statements you cant substantiate Rival. Nobody believes Butcher sneaked behind anyones back bar yourself.
  5. To be fair to Jimmy he has stated publicly that he doesnt want to be a manager. Jimmy likes coaching but not all the crap that goes with being the boss. he could be a good No 2 to Butcher. Really?I didn't know that! Still he must get sick of the " oh no not again" scenario! But i suppose that's football. Yeh he said so in pre-match interview prior to Motherwell game when asked if he'd be interested in the job.
  6. Fishing for what? Our players are under contract and Hibs have no cash to spend. they blew that on Duffer Collins
  7. To be fair to Jimmy he has stated publicly that he doesnt want to be a manager. Jimmy likes coaching but not all the crap that goes with being the boss. he could be a good No 2 to Butcher.
  8. Mo and Duncs could be be a better option
  9. My stepsons a Hibee but even he wouldn't make that claim. Massive is 30,000 plus. Today you mustered around 8,000
  10. I think we have enough coaches with enough knowledge of the squad to carry on what we are doing. Dunc's and Charlie could take over in interim and give us plenty time to get the right people on board. Don't know if he's been mentioned anywhere else but I wonder if Jim McInally at Peterhead would do a job for us. He's done well with Morton and the Shire and is doing well at Peterhead. Nine or ten years management experience and a good record in the lower leagues. he could be well ready for a step up.
  11. At the moment there's nothing official because ICT have not agreed to pass on his registration. There is a big matter of compensation to be sorted out between the two clubs and I hope our estimate of that worth is met by Hibs. I'm inclined to believe that Terry is supportive of this, hence his neutral stance, and that he isn't coming out in public until that part is sorted. Unless he resigns from ICT then he can't sign for Hibs till ICT are ready to transfer his registration and, as yet, he has not resigned. The common sense side of me feels that Terry wants to see ICT get the best they can out of this deal.
  12. I reckon I know who the OP is and its not a player. Anyway, I agree with what he says regarding the changes that came about behind the scenes and I would hope that what he leaves behind remains in being. Reading all I've read over the last few days it is my belief that TB will go to Hibs but only if a compensation deal, that is agreeable to ICT, is in place. I believe he has ICT at heart and will not go if Petrie can't come up with a fair offer. It makes sense not to commit to one club or the other till that part is sorted out. From a fans point of view its all very frustrating, moreso in light of the BBC's jumping the gun, but at the end of the day it's all about what we can get out of it. To the future we have a squad of good players who will endeavour to keep us challenging at the top and any manager coming in will have an easy run to the end of the season.
  13. Don't go too greedy guys. My bet today 1-3 with Nick to score first.
  14. Nick Ross MoM already by sound of it.
  15. Madden his usual self. Ten fouls in as many minutes. Expect a few cards and at least one red today.
  16. Some people need a reality check. They're miffed because Butcher never told them personally what's happening. There are reasons for not saying yet. Reasons possibly more to do with ICT's stance over compensation. The players and backroom probably know more and it likely won't affect their game.
  17. You just visiting? Immortal folk dont need treatment.
  18. This week will go down in history as one of the biggest phsycological battles of all time.
  19. An announcement will be made at 14:50 hrs Saturday 9th November. Press release : Terry Butcher will NOT be taking the Managers position at Hibernian FC. Hibs players totally deflated and we score 4 in the first half.
  20. You convinced me many posts ago.
  21. If he has decided he's going then there are two further scenarios 1. He resigns from ICT and goes leaving a bitterness behind. (Don't think he'd do that) 2. He doesn't resign but requests ICT negotiate a transfer deal with Hibs. 2. Takes time so he lets Maurice take charge of team because he wont be around after the weekend. If he's decided he's not going then he doesn't want to run the risk of the Hibs fans wrath spoiling his game so he stays away till the dust settles. I'm inclined to think he wants to go and to get the best deal possible for ICT and that if Petrie is not forthcoming then he'll be happy to stay and that the silence is while negotiations take place between the two clubs.
  22. Monday - BBC report deal agreed Tuesday - denials etc Wednesday - Butcher journies to Edinburgh Thursday - Butcher sits in talks with messrs Cameron and Bennett Friday - Butcher goes to training pitches and chats with the squad...............tells them he's staying. Saturday - to prevent flack Malpas takes the dugout with Shearer and Marsella. Sunday - Butcher sits in his hoose in Abriachan stroking his dog and reflects on the fun week he's had stringing everyone along. Monday - back to training as usual. And all the while the hacks freeze their goolies of waiting on news.
  23. Tokely, Mann, Wyness, Wilson, Christie
  24. That is another possibility. We refuse to transfer registration till decent compo is paid.
  25. Is Malpas going? Malpas, Shearer, Marsella. Good management duo's have a Nicey and a Nasty. Malpas = Nicey, Shearer = Nasty
