  1. Starting line-up was Esson Cooper Meekings Foran G. Shinnie Sutherland, Draper, OTJ, Doran A. Shinnie, Mckay Lost track of all the subs though. We played some good football again but, as I said on saturday, we just didn't seem to have a plan in the final third. We started very well and controlled the game for the most part. G. Shinnie scored and we continued to play a very good passing game though at times some of the passes went to Brechin feet. Brechin got a penalty for a well timed dive and scored. In the last ten minutes Brechin went all out for the win and got it. They are actually a very good side and I can see them doing well this season. They are all fired up for the game on Sunday and that showed in their desire to go all out for the winner tonight. As for us there is a lot of promise but like many others have said Shane is not a winger. Cooper had a decent game before he was replaced just before half time by Martin Laing. Martin is a promising looking lad. Fights for everything and has a lot of pace. Also has good vision. OTJ also had a decent game. A. Shinnie is the standout though. Others that caught my eye and who will be big players in time are Connor Pepper and the lad Oswell. Though we got beat tonight I wouldn't let my head go down. It was a friendly with something like seven substitutions but it had a lot of positives. We need to work on our final third game though. At the moment I'm not disheartened by the defeat.
  2. Think myself and missus could be there.
  3. King out with thigh strain. The weight of the signing pen must have been too much. Also Raven not featuring in tonights game after head knock on saturday but Warren could get a run out.
  4. Maybe it would be a good thing if Sky disappeared. All teams forced to survive within their means. No additional income for the Glasgow team. Games at 3 on a saturday. Get shot of my skysports package cos I wont need it anymore.
  5. Chris reckons two to three weeks
  6. They're just a wee diddy third division team. Who gives a fekk!!!
  7. If they stay in this league their ST numbers will fall.
  8. You know people, I dont cringe about anything. Many are assuming we have a weaker team than last season but until they play competitively in the league we just dont know. Shane, Nick, Gavin and Graeme S all have another season under their belt and a lot more knowledge and experience. We've brought in some over 25's as well with good experience and we have Chris Hogg coming back to hold and control the defensive line. Andrew Shinnie and Richie will do the same for the midfield. To be honest I see a slightly stronger team than last seasons. The only area I worry about is up front but if we can play from the back, get our passing game working and get behind opposition defences we will score goals and win matches. Who know's small squad may breed stronger play.
  9. That is a good idea bob but, though it helps promote the club and encourages the establishment to continue their support, it doesnt put money into the club that is needed now. Those people will already have paid their dues and the club will have included those in the budget.
  10. J's beaten 2-0 tonight. Watched the first half online and think they must have taken advice from Levien. Ten defenders.
  11. Inverness to Paris approx 660 miles. Paris to Nicosia approx 1840 miles. That really is closer to his family isn't it?
  12. Think Alba may have beat them to it.
  13. How stupid am I. Cheers Yngwie
  14. OK then boys and girls. Many great idea's being put forward so now its time to put your money where your mouth is. Check out the link in Yngwie's post below.
  15. Dont know enough about the players to put them in positions yet. However I think this will be the season that Nick Ross and Shane Sutherland shine.
  16. Never seen that site before. Well done kids. Makes up for the fans defeat.
  17. I would think so
  18. I hope the club are seeking recompense from ticketmaster for their shambles. As to Huisdeans point. Dont you think we grew as success became apparant. Our first season in div 3 saw average gates of 1000 or so. As we went up the leagues the crowds got better. I think we have reached our plateau. Around 4000 will be our average gate each season in SPL Dont know how many season tickets we have sold. The last guesstumate I did a couple of weeks ago was over 1700. I would imagine there will have been more since then. People have indicated they are not buying any this season but others, like myself, are so that probably balances out. Some have also indicated that they dont have the cash available up front but will still pay on the day. Clubs like to sell ST's to give them a fighting fund at the start of the season but they actually prefer to sell match tickets as they get more money then. The real measure of how stable our support is will be in average crowds throughout the season. That is how we should measure if we are losing numbers or not.
  19. I think they should have just left his body to lie a moulding in the grave.
  20. When was that Laurence? 1876??
  21. I would think that Scotprem are waiting to see if there's any official challenge from Dunfermline before adding Dundee
  22. So Charles gives us a figure of 3000. Dont know the number of debentures or the number of hospitality seats included in that but lets say 500. They've basically sold 2500 season tickets in their first season in SPL. Less than we did in ours which if memory serves correct was a bit over 3000 and that was while having to travel to Aberdeen. I'd also be willing to bet that County have kept back seats in an area that will allow them to sell more than the allocated 2000 away tickets for the bigger games. All in all a few on here have tried to lower their own club by comparrisons with our neighbours. All I can say on that is, regardless of size of town, they are them and we are us. Personally I wouldnt give a feck if they had regular gates of 50000 so long as we can beat them every game. Oneupmanship is not a word I tend to use.
  23. The current Sky deal is in place to end of season. Whether there is changes made to it remains to be seen. They have, however, scheduled the SPL dates but not decided what fixtures. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12942,00.html It could still be that our game is changed to the sunday.
  24. I'm sure our club actually employs people to do the marketing. I also believe they work very hard under the current financial state of the country. Somebody has gone out and sold the club to every name on every advertising board around the ground and each year they work hard at convincing those advertisers to keep supporting the team.
  25. I have factored it in thats why Gilmour the mouth's team are going down.
