  • This is neither a "shambles" a "clusterf***" a "disgrace" nor a "disaster" by the Board. They had a number of applicants for the post that they whittled down to an interview and than a short list who

  • Not convinced Kenny Shiels will want to travel the A9 that much.

I'm going to trust the Board's judgement on this appointment.  I will be giving Yogi my full support and hope that the majority do the same and give him a fair crack of the whip.

Got told by one of my regulars at Thurso Golf Club that Gary McAllister was seen with Alan Savage and Graeme Bennett at Castle Stuart yhid week so he reckons Gaz may be new gaffer.

Not sure what to think myself, nor is the bloke ad he said that he could be wrong but he got £5 on Gary.

That's quite an astonishing revelation, Mahonio. I really hadn't thought about that. Thurso has a golf club!

Some absolutely terrible names put forward here.  Mark McGhee?  Really?

Yep, you learn something new every day eh ;-).

I have no idea why but I'd quite like to see Craig Levein if I'm honest, I would hate Mark McGhee or Kenny Shiels. Maybe Mo as manager possibly or Barry Wilson but I think Levein could honestly prove himself at ICT.

Ian Holloway is available. Doubt he'd come, but it'd be a laugh if anything.

Laughing all the way to the 'Championship'

It's a hard job trying to keep a small club out of their depth in the EPL. But Blackpool were immense for half a season under him with little investment. They just fell away. He managed to turn Charlie Adam into a £9m player somehow.

I think he'd be able to find gems and cope in the SP(F)L quite comfortably.

But i don't think he'd come, given that he quit Crystal Palace as he felt burnt out.

There's a much more fundamental reason why he wouldn't come.

Money, Location, We wouldn't go for him anyway

Manager: Paul Hartley

Assistant Manager: Maurice Malpas

First Team Coach/Chief Scout: Steve Marsella

Goalkeeping Coach: Ryan Esson

U20 Manager: Duncan Shearer

Dream Team!

Supposedly Gus MacPherson and Billy Reid are going to apply for the job.

I'd like....eh....neither of those!

Hartley or Levein?

Levein is 1/2 favourite according to one online bookmaker

We can look forward to an open attacking style of play then :amazed:

Levein would be a mistake IMO.

Paul Sturrock would be a decent candidate in his own right but might also have the added benefit of persuading Maurice Malpas to stay on as number two given that they were long term team mates.

I would far rather go for someone who is young and learning their trade, like Paul Hartley, than managers like Calderwood or Levein, who come with baggage! A young keen manager would respect our prudent frugal policy, whereas a more experienced manager may try and push the financial boundaries in line with previous jobs they may have held. I trust in our board to get the right man, and an sure they will not let us down.

Paul Sturrock?

I do like that idea!  :clapping:

Paul Sturrock--Well passed his sell by date!

No.  You're thinking of IHE.  :slapme:

Paul Sturrock--Well passed his sell by date!

Not quite sure if it is affecting his health but was he not diagnosed with Parkinson's disease?

I'd go for Paul Sturrock with Malpas.  Luggy has had an amazing managerial career.  Difficult to believe one of his main points in being sacked by Soton was 'wasting' £2M on the Aston Villa reserve Peter Crouch.
