  1. Useless Ging. I had reason to email him asking him to comment on some serious work issues being introduced by Govmt quango organization which could mean masses of job losses. It took 4 prompts for him to reply with a copy of a report I had already seen! I asked him if he supported the issues I raised - NO reply. The man has achieved his ambition. He knows he will not be re-elected next time round but he will get a nice big pension and a job with some merchant bank. A chocolate tea pot if ever there was one.
  2. Those were the days! My first 8 pints of lager in the Gellions back bar cost me ?1 or Light at 1/10 a pint. Saturday night at the Caley Ballroom with Drew Ross and Beans 10bob. Yes a great night out for ?1.50
  3. I'm surprised he has turned them down too, although i do think they'll be one of the favourites for relegation this season. He must be fairly confident he can get a better deal somewhere else. Apparantly the St Mirren offer was a bit of a cheek. They made an offer based on the presumption that a few quid more than he earns part time with Brechin would make him jump for joy. Think they forgot to realise that Rory was once an SPL player and knows the average salary in that league. In football terms its been a long time since Rory was involved in the SPL so he unlikely to know what the going rate is for a "fresher". Lets not forget he spent most of his time in our U19's and Reserves and was very much a "bit part" player in the first team and was not on a big wad. As ususl, he is maybe setting his sights too high. He is on VERY GOOD money with Brechin so it will take a pretty high offer to tempt him financially. If he is SERIOUS about his football he should consider ALL full-time offers but these may come from the first division. If he 's in the game for cash, he would be better staying put.
  4. Aye but Rory is renowned for not really saying what he means. Good luck to him tho but he will have to have matured considerably if he is to make the grade.
  5. I believe he had asked for a similar clause as last time ie if he played so many games in the season he would get another year but seemingly he was told no, a year was all that was on offer.
  6. He has also received an offer from abroad which would see him playing champions league football next season!
  7. And what would our DofF know about it?
  8. Obviously the reason he never played for County or Liverpool was due to the fact that he was still a very young player at the time. Also, he did not go to Airdrie after being released from Liverpool, he in fact actually went to Fulham, but again was still probably not expected to break into the first team at that point. IMO he could of/would of gone to play at a very high level but he has had a terrible time with injuries - that it what is "amiss". I don't for one second doubt his ability though, as he's probably one of, if not the best youth player I have ever seen. Alex wrong again? No!! He had a trial at Fulham but I'm quite sure he didn't sign for them. And .....? And......? It appears to me your making statements on unfounded grounds. Either that or you dont read the whole thread but just butt in when it suits you. Oh grow up man or i'll have to change the bait

  10. Niall Calder is no relation to Jimmy Calder.
  11. At least a Caley scarf would have some use. Did the Jags actualy have a scarf considering they only had 50 or so real fans!

  13. At least they know things will be done properly - unlike the past!! IYKWIM
  14. And do a Gretna? I'm more in favour of long-term planning a la Steve Paterson / Jim McLean but that doesn't seem to be happening. I didn't say anything about a "quick fix". There was absolutely nothing geared to infrastructure / long-term planning since the club was formed and that includes however much the Builder or his companies invested. Duncan Shearer is a good start but I'm sure many would agree that we are still seen as a Premier League TEAM but not a PL CLUB. Investment can be made in many ways and yes any investor needs to see a return on their input. As Sutherland says himself, everyone has a "sell by" date and maybe now would be as good a time as any for him to move on and let fresh blood in.
  15. Take it you will be OK with a Blue & White home shirt then?
  16. What the club needs is SERIOUS investment, something the Builder is not prepared to do. We are at a stage where we need to kick on to the next level or we will lose our fine management team and stagnate.
  17. About time too. Duncan is a very good coach and our U19's have been crying out for someone of his pedigree. Let's not forget, these kids are far from being the finished article and he is just the man to set them on the right road. Good luck to them all.
  18. Nobody mentioned Rangers yet?
  19. Tade and Shinnie, to name but 2, both at trials
  20. It sounds mighty like TB has done a deal with Hogg for next season. Otherwise, it is madness to let Grant go.
  21. Yes a techy hitch which couldn't be avoided BUT when oh when will we STOP entering CRAP tournaments which we know we can win? This has been going on for years and we must start pitting our wits against better opposition at better tournaments! If any of you care to ask the kids who travelled I'm sure you will be told that it was far too easy! Come on Charlie, never mind the silverware, compete at tournaments which include senior clubs and you will then see if we are making any progress!
