I have experienced the very worst in caley fans today. As a long standing loyal supporter I escort an elderly fan who is also a long standing loyal supporter from the stadium to his car at every home game .this fan is an elderly disabled gentleman who at the end of each game visits the disabled toilets as he has a long journey home down the A9. Today he was subject to a tirade of abuse by a non disabled "caley fan" who spoke to him in the most appalling manner because he went ahead of him in the queue and did not say thank you. I tried reasoning with him but he didn't seem to understand that the toilets are for disabled only. It saddens me to have to post this at all as I know he is a minority thankfully but it sickened me the way he conducted himself towards my elderly friend . Some people should never crawl out from beneath their rock .shame on you !

Drop the club a note. Maybe the stewards can see that theses toilets are used by the disabled only. There's always twats out there unfortunately.

What was more disgusting than anything was his horrible arrogant attitude to an 83 year old man.

You will always find idiots like that in any walk of life. Frustrating I know.

Maybe the most appropriate course of action would be to write to the club detailing the incident and suggesting ways that it could be avoided in future? Opening up a thread on here isn't going to go anywhere as none of the other posters would have witnessed the incident and couldn't comment. However, you probably feel a bit better having let off some steam!

I can't see what writing to the club's going to achieve. They have no control over individuals' ignorance. It's society to blame. Disabled parking spaces are abused all the time.

As you say they can't help folks ignorance but as the stewards stand about 10 feet away from these loos perhaps they could be policed better?

Wait for them to try and use the disabled toilets at the next home game then jump them and flush their head in the toilet.

Both toilets have large signs on the doors ....'TOILETS FOR DISABLED ONLY' Im sorry but if the able bodied people using them dont understand that then I could write to the Pope and it wouldn't make a bit of difference. And no Im not a Catholic and nor am I bringing religion into its just a matter of speaking.......

It was the disgusting attitude of the person involved and no reasoning with him ....as has been said already just an idiot.

I will be in the queue again on Wed with my friend so we will see if he is there. After the Aberdeen game he was there mouthing

off how he had travelled 600 miles to watch that Sh-- .Maybe the next time he will travel 600 miles in the opposite direction and do the club a favour.......and for the record the incident was well witnessed .I just wonder if he was dealing with a young man instead of a vulnerable disabled old gentleman and my daughter.would he have been so aggressive. As my daughter told him he is a really "nice" boy and he should be proud of himself.

Funny you should say that cos I was in ASDA last week and witnessed a guy putting tickets on cars that had parked in the disabled bays without a badge. Had a wee chat with him and he told me that the penalty for doing this is £70.

Just an example of how people who manage a business can put in some controls to deal with the idiots.

I wouldn't have an issue with the Police using them. They've got work to do at the ground and queueing for the able bodied toilets is a waste of time. So long as they are not impeding their use by someone requiring them I wouldn't have issue.

Rudeness and aggression should not be tolerated in any walks of life. Whilst I do believe that perhaps your elderly friend could have said thank you (this was the blokes gripe yes?) he shouldn't have been waiting for the use of the toilet anyway. Though if he felt he has gotten out of the way for your friend then I'd understand irritation at a lack of courtesy, though would not excuse such behaviour.

 

Such as when I'm on a bus, and I see an obviously impaired or elderly person. I'll offer my seat if I feel it's required. I don't automatically jump out my seat (more often than not I wouldn't even be paying attention to who else is on the bus and see no reason why I should) though if asked I would quite happily give the seat up. I'm not a mind reader. I don't know whether that person would require the seat. I still would expect a thank you for giving up the seat, even if, quite rightly, it is expected of me. It's common courtesy.

If I had seen that I would have made sure that wee ***** would be using those disabled toilets for the rest of his life!

Staff in a private car park shouldn't be misled to think that they are within their rights to apply stickers to cars, unless the driver has been notified that this may happen.

That depends on who owns, who operates and what local bylaws are in place to cover this. Many carparks associated with supermarkets etc are owned by and operated by a local authority. The operation may be contracted out but the LA will have put the rules in place and these will be displayed somewhere around the carpark. Usually the notices will be at entrance and other convenient places and will have small print that we drivers have no chance of reading as we pass by.
