Morton -V- Inverness CT - Preview-Streaming-Matchday

If at first you don't succeed

It's the second time of trying to get this match played (postponed from Boxing Day) and that will be the same for another handful of games as a combination of snow, ice, Scottish Cup and covid19 have decimated our campaign. We will be playing catch-up for the foreseeable future with postponed Championship games against Arbroath, Queen of the South, Raith Rovers and Alloa to come, not to mention cup games against Buckie Thistle and possibly Ross County.

Our last game was a 1-1 draw with Dunfermline on 29th December. Almost one month ago. Morton drew at Ayr that day and the same 1-1 scoreline at Alloa four days later. They have drawn with the Pars since then and went down 2-1 at Dumfries last Saturday. Not the most profitable period for Morton, but at least they have been active.

Latest Team News

Kai Kennedy is now at Raith Rovers and he will be a big miss. Lewis Toshney and Kevin McHattie are not ready for action after long term injuries. Robbo has hinted that there are a couple of new niggly injuries that may require rest with a busy schedule coming up. I wonder if Wallace Duffy, Aaron Doran and David Carson might have benefitted from the enforced lay off and will be looking to get involved with the squad

Morton team v QotS: McAdams, Ledger, Fjortoft, McGinty, Strapp (Oliver 78′), McAlister, Lyon, Salkeld, Colville, Nesbitt, Orsi

Given the amount of Previews wasted recently, that's all your getting. Meh!

After losing to Raith Rovers on Saturday, the Jambos gained ample revenge by pumping Raith 4-0 at Stark's Park tonight. Hendry of Rovers was sent off before the break.

Fair to say playoffs are a pipe dream at this stage...That said, it looks like we'll be qualifying for the playoffs at the other end of the table instead...

I get that robbo is annoyed but I think he misses the point! The players have, and not just this season stopped playing for him. They can clearly see his coaching style and kellacher and Wilsons coaching style is ****, and they aren't accepting it any more. Right or wrong I'd say this is why we are where we are, and any bigger club would see that and sack the manager but we won't because we can't afford to so we'll keep rumbling on with the same **** and get worse and worse year on year until we finally end up in league 1 and then dissolve. It needs change now but change costs money I get that

There is no doubt that we are all disappointed and that both coaches and players were at fault last night.

However, given all the challenges that we are facing right now, that is a ridiculously unfair and negative post.

Yeah I think we just need to stick together and show our support as much as possible in these difficult times. Let the season fumble along and get it out of the way until better times ahead. Maybe a wee Scottish Cup run though to cheer us up!

Think back a week or two to Robbo’s comments about how the pandemic is affecting him personally and how he feels for the players, many of whom have not seen their families for months. Everyone on here showed support then, and we need to maintain that support, however the season turns out.

We should have seen last night out and won, but our away form is poor this season, with 4 points out of 15, and we don’t seem able to keep our momentum for the full 90 minutes.

We had a good first half, so if we can find a way of maintaining that level of performance for full games we will not be too far away. However, the challenge is achieving that.

The next week or two will make or break our season. If we can put a run together, we will be back in touch as all the other teams are also dropping points.

Roll on Saturday! Hopefully the pitch is covered, they have sorted the patch that caused the problem last Saturday, and we get a morale boosting win.

I think Robbo was right to blast them after that second half. Players work all week to get things right on the park, when they cross that white line the same work has got to be there. Need to get it right this weekend.
