Hers's a statement by the chairman on the recommendation to refuse the planning application.  It includes a link to a video he has made with a message to the Councillors.  Clearly whether it goes ahead or not will have a significant bearing on the viability of the club.

If any objections which have been raised after the deadline should be ignored, then does it follow that all emails to councillors in support of the project should also be ignored?

Has anyone explained why the loss of 2 percent of green space is so sacrosanct? Given their own ecology officer said it would result in a net biodiversity gain. From the pictures I see of the site it's just a patch of overgrown grass that people walk through. But apparently that's worth more than 3.4 million?

What was the outcome of it? Had to ditch the stream cos had to get to work, and last I heard was about "River Ness runoff" and that the Fire Brigade can't comment on the battery farm

The Highland region has no shortage of green space! It's an issue simply because that’s how it was designated by the council in the local plan and those who are against it can use that, arguing that this plan is the bible and must not be questioned. If, however, the plan had allocated 2% of this site to a net-zero project it would still have been approved at the time, without doubt.

Indeed. But local residents do like to walk their dogs there and so on and don’t want to lose that - given as a reason in the petition I saw. I wouldn’t want to lose it either if I walked there, but it is perhaps a bit ‘entitled’ to expect ongoing access to someone else’s private land.

If the club has a lease on the site, maybe we could sell a new type of ‘season ticket’ to residents who want to use our land!

If its not fenced in at present then there is no restraint on access to further green space beyond. 

The chairman who quite clearly has a bone to pick with us has thrown a jab at the emails we sent. Saying they were intimidating. Whereas the two following councillors to speak said they weren't intimidating at all.

 

Really sounds like he is a holier than thou figure. Who doesn't like losing a vote. And doesn't like being challenged on it

Duncan Macpherson attended the meeting and was most likely in favour. He was about to point out how much of a hypocrite Oldham was. But then got shut down as apparently you can't speak your mind as an elected official. But lying and saying you've been intimidated by people supporting a battery farm is perfectly fine.

And because its no longer in use as a golf course all the the drainage has been left to block up and is now providing a regular water feature on the ISD.

Have to remember these aren't the most competent chimps in the zoo. After all, they happily burnt stacks on an "art installation" and completely changed how the river looks...

Can't be approved unless it has a big circle, a diving board looking thingy and/or a seesaw pier. Thems the rules

I don't get why the locals using is as a dog walking site is so important. Were they doing that when it was a golf course too? Where did they go then? Why can they not go back there?
