I'm aware that he was up here on trial at some point in the last 8 months whilst still contracted to Man U. Now that he's been given a free by Man U (last week) does that mean we may be interested in him again, as a fee won't be involved. Eh.....or was he just deemed unsuitable?

Michael Barnes is a pacy winger from Chorley, in the North-west of England.

Barnes signed scholarship forms in December 2005 and has since graduated through the youth ranks at the club and has now progressed to Reserve team football.

He was on loan at Shrewsbury for the last few games of the season and Malky Thomson claimed to be at a Shrewsbury game during in the Chester tapping up inquiry. Could well be going in for him if he's up for free.

worth it if Brewster can get him imo. Much as I hate Utd their youngsters are usually well coached. Might have to dye his hair though, ginger would clash with the red bits in the Caley kit - he'd look like a trafic light

Went from Man Utd to Chesterfield and Shrewsbury on loan during 2008, then to Northwich Victoria and Southport before ending up at Halifax Town. Scored for Halifax Town in the Unibond at the weekend in front of a crowd of 969
