lets not turn this into a Munro bashing thread. There are different types of captain, the typical shout-at-anything-that-moves-Roy Keane-esq captain, and there are others that lead by example because of their professionalism on and off the park. Munro might not have been the sort to bark orders at people but no one can say the way he conducts himself is anything but exemplary. As far as representation and promotion of the club Grant did a terrific job and there is not a player a more dedicated to the ICT cause Munro lead us back to the SPL last season, best example was his goal against QoS which basically clinched the title for us. If anyone was at that game they would have seen how much it meant to the guy. Hopefully Foran is as good an appointment as we all think he should be but he has a lot to live up to IMO.

Whilst I believe that Grant Munro is a good centre-back and has been a great stalwart for the club, he has never been a captain. Unlike former and fan favourite captains such as Darren Dods and Bobby Mann, he doesn't seem to possess the same qualities that these two had in relation to being the captain of this football club. He doesn't seem to have the same presence on the field nor the willingness to be vocal to his team mates. Richie Foran on the other hand, does seem to possess these qualities, and I believe that he will show to be a good captain next season and hopefully for a number of seasons to come.
  4. ITS ACTUALLY THE 1ST TIME SINCE JOINING the highland league we have had a game cancelled due to a waterlooged pitch! so not sure where u get ur info from! a lot of time and money been spent on the pitch during the close season, and playing on it tonight would churn it up for the new season, there was puddles every where at 10am this morning I can exclusively reveal that the foot of snow which had been on the Grantown pitch since December 19th suddenly melted last night and flooded it!
  5. Sorry Johnboy I am sat at home just working as a relay for 'Caleyrule'. I work in Elgin and it's been peeing it down all day.... the pitch will be a quagmire (giggity giggity)

To be fair i dont remember seeing any other club launch new kit yet. I know Hearts won't be available till 12th Aug. I didnt acutally mean launched as in for sale. When i said launch i meant preview or show what the strips will look like, at the very least i know the old firm, hearts, hibs, dundee united have all unveiled what their new strips will look like via a strip 'launch', it always seems that we are very late in doing the same

Ritchie Foran for President, let alone captain.

Good choice to appoint Foran if true. No denying that Grant was best choice at the time but how many of the former squad still remain.. Tokeley, Duncan, MacBean... Can't think of any others. Completely different set of players now, and maybe some with better qualities to be captain. Foran has been immense, a workhorse and always encouraging and motivating on the pitch. Good luck to him.

fecking disgrace . Unfortunately the reputation buttons are not yet enabled. Foran is a far better leader on the pitch and will get the rest of the team fired up. Grant is mature enough to realise the team needs the best leader available and if he isn't strong enough to deal with the decision that's all the more reason to pass the captaincy on.
  13. if people want to take them let them. Anything that would help drown out the bigots oin the south stand should be welcomed with open arms. And if they are blew in time then it could be interesting

Exactly, I don't understand why they just don't show us what it looks like as soon as they get it. What's the point in all this press release nonsense? This is ICT, not Barcelona. The world's press aren't going to be outside the Caley Park in anticipation of the new kit. They should just release it straight away. It's the fans that will be buying it anyway.
  16. The way things are looking for many clubs this season, including the OF, I think we have the best ever chance to be in the top half come the split. My prediction at the split is: Dundee United Celtic Rangers Hearts Hibs Inverness St Johnston Motherwell Aberdeen Hamilton St Mirren Kilmarnock I see United keeping the momentum going from last season. Celtic just edging Rangers. Rangers downfall will be the loss of so many key players and their financial position. I dont see anything to suggest much improvement from either Edinburgh team. St J look to be the best of the rest at the moment. Aberdeen have done nothing to better their posotion and I think Motherwell have the edge over them and McGee could well be the first SPL sacking. Killie, sadly, are in no position to strengthen and look the most likely for the drop.
