  1. Charlie Adam should be a lesson to regular visitors of the dump. He played in his shell in Scotland because of constant abuse from Rangers and St Midden fans, as well as opposition fans. He wasn't allowed the mental space on, or off the park to express himself properly. He always has had 100% technique, and just needed the belief/support of the supporters. He moved to Blackpool with no pressure, and now they have an outstanding play maker. I wouldn't say he's that much fitter, and he still moves at the same pace, he just believes in himself now. Maybe the next time Duff gets caught in possession, we could leave the huge collective sigh out, and just offer encouragement instead?

  2. ICT didn't make a mistake by signing Barrowman, they made a mistake in paying him the wages they were when he was unproven at SPL level. Signing a 2nd Division player on a wage which was comparable (actually a little higher) than we were paying an internationalist (Niculae) was asking for trouble and we got burned badly on it because not only did he not produce the goods, but he didn't provide so much as a penny in return for the investment. While Rooney is still on the books then we can't afford to be looking at another striker on that kind of money. Even if he was to leave, the club would be taking a big risk blowing whatever wages are made available on a single player....regardless of what level they are currently playing at. Can't see us looking to sign anyone much above the level of Tade and even loan signings aren't going to be anything more than lower end English Championship fringe/youth players who are looking to prove themselves. Our current league position isn't going to have other SPL teams falling over themselves to loan us anyone either....so success on that front is probably working slightly against us. Personally, I'm not as convinced as some of you seem to be that Rooney is off and still have a sneaky feeling he'll put pen to paper on an extension with us before the end of the season.

  3. I've just downloaded the new FIFA 11 commentary update: Not much different, although when my wife went on it, Andy Gray shouted at her " put that fecking controller down and get back to the kitchen"

  4. It must be pretty galling for the gaffer. He always talks up the players, their contibutions and the teams spirit. Yet on here it's doom and gloom. Why are people so negative? There's no reason to be. We've been playing some great football this season and have seen some terrific performances. Ok, so there's been a dip - but look at how many games we've played in comparison to other clubs in the division. A Tuesday night trip to Ibrox can't have helped out in regard to the Hamilton game.

  5. Getting down to the business end again and the same old question arises, can Andy Murray win a grand slam? He is cruising so far, but the big guns are waiting. Straight set wins into the quarter finals and a match against an unseeded, but nonetheless dangerous oponent. Probably Nadal waiting for him at the semi-stage and more than likely Federer waiting for the winners in the final, with Djokovic also looking sharp. With Soderling falling to Dolgopolov, that's one big danger gone. All in all, the Aussie Open is shaping up nicely. Can Murray do it? Big ask I think, beating one legendary player is difficult, beating both of them in the same slam is almost impossible. Good luck Andy.

  7. The guy's a plonker as well as a rubbish commentator, so excellent news he's gone. Don't shed any tears for him, he's been earning a seven figure salary for years. If you earn that kind of money a degree of professionalism is required, which Gray has clearly not got. His views might be his own, but they are completely out of touch with football and the world we live in now. So bye bye, take Keys with you. And if you wonder why this new footage came out now, just think of all the people who work on the shows who have had to put up with his unreconstructed behaviour, lording it over them for years, now they have their revenge. Don't make enemies on the way up, you might need them as friends on the way down. Uh-oh, too late Andy.

  8. If TB sees him as a player that is ready to go into the first team - and if he is a genuine winger - it will be interesting to see how this might affect the starting eleven. Might he consider moving Foran back into a striking role alongside Rooney and playing two of Duncan/Cox/Duff in the centre, with one slightly ahead of the other and Doran and Hayes on either side? Could lead to a more of the end product that has been lacking recently, as discussed on other threads.

  10. We have some neat and tidy players but I am concerned about the lack of an end product. Nick Ross has been winning MotM awards as if they were going out of fashion, yet for me all too often he flatters to deceive. He did reasonably well again yesterday, but once more never looked like scoring. I know I know, but Cerny fumbled the shot, it was hit pretty limply adjacent to him, similar to his next attempt, and the third is not worth discussing. Rooney is not a natural scorer. Yes he can score, but he does not score with applomb, usually shoot on site stuff, hit or miss, no finesse about him around the box. Lack of goals recently has seen him and us struggle. Eric has lost the plot. Out of touch I'm afraid and a shadow of the player he promised to be. Dani is one of the success stories I believe. He can spot a run and pick a pass and has the ability to drift forward effortlessly. Foran looks to be running on empty, whats wrong with him. Jonny coming back is the one shining light, but if the rest of the guys round about him keep playing like this then there is trouble brewing. Should we be happy at this lack of quality, or do we shut up and put up with it?

  12. I'm an eternal optimist but I couldn't help noticing Hamilton have made a couple of decent looking signings today. Their squad is now considerably larger than ours, and they appear to well enough equipped to avoid relegation. I'd hate to see any of our key players picking up an injury over the next few weeks. It could cause considerable damage - there are several key positions where we are completely short of meaningful cover.

  13. Provided we have the money I think we should just get Tade anyway, or at least get him to sign a pre-contract with us.

  16. She had obviously had this ladies explanation so was able to judge correctly ..... You're in a shoe shop, second in the queue for the till. Behind the shop assistant on the till is a pair of shoes which you have seen and which you must have. The female shopper in front of you has seen them also and is eyeing them with desire. Both of you have forgotten your purses. It would be rude to push in front of the first woman if you had no money to pay for the shoes. The shop assistant remains at the till waiting. Your friend is trying on another pair of shoes at the back of the shop and sees your dilemma. She prepares to throw her purse to you. If she does so, you can catch the purse, then walk round the other shopper and buy the shoes! At a pinch she could throw the purse ahead of the other shopper and "whilst it is in flight" you could nip around the other shopper, catch the purse and buy the shoes! BUT, you must always remember that until the purse has "actually been thrown", it would be plain wrong for you to be in front of the other shopper and you would be OFFSIDE!

  17. Out of interest did you ever go and watch Caley or thistle in the Highland league days ? I did, many a time. Mostly Clach, but also Thistle latterly. Why would you ask? ICT Paisley..........have we not been saying this since before Xmas, with an 'easy' run of games coming up against St Mirren, Kilmarnock, St Johnstone, Motherwell and Hamilton, all winable, all points frittered away.

  18. I don't see why they should be suspended. They were having what they believed was, and should have been, a private conversation and it should have been nobody else's business. I would say it was a far bigger crime to record someone without them knowing, and even worse to then place that recording in the public domain where they knew it would cause offence. There's not a person alive who doesn't hold a thought, view, opinion or who has made a comment in jest which someone else may find offensive. Should people be allowed to record us at will and place those views in public without our consent? Not justifying sexist opinions or views, but are these guys really sexist or were they just having a joke based around a "stereotype"...you know, in much the same way as we've all had a laugh at a Scotsman, Englishman & Irishman joke which played heavily on stereotype? We don't know and, given the circumstances, I think it would be dangerous to judge.

  19. Bronson, This is unfair and another reason why the team perhaps do not like playing at home. In away games there is 110% support. At home, elements of the home crowd are negative, silent, destructively critical, and forever pulling players down. Richie Foran is an inspirational leader who gives his all within the energy he has. No player, not even Rossco is superman.

  22. There is a protection racket within the licensing board in Inverness in that the interests of the chosen few are protected. This makes Inverness and laughing stock and only serves to cause more problems than it actually prevents. I was out recently and had to queue for a certain Inverness nightspot. There was a queue all the way up the street with probably about 60 to 70 people behind my group of friends. After we got in just before 12 they stopped letting people in because it was midnight. What were those people supposed to do? a lot of them were angry because that was their night out over prematurely. These people are left roaming the streets angrilly and thats where problems arise. Also while queuing there was a lot of people trying to push to the front so they would get in by 12. This was dangerous in itself. If you are lucky enough to get in somewhere and you are not enjoying your night there is no option to try somewhere else. As a result people stay in places they are not enjoying, this is how fighting starts and how people decide to gte so drunk they won't care if they are having a good tieme or not. It also serves to line the pockets of places like Johnny Foxes who in my opinion have too much say in how licenses are issued in the city. Look at the trouble Mambo's/Barbazza's/Maverick's had keeping their late license. The council have patronised people in Inverness as well as lied to us with backwords reasoning as to why this ineffective, stupid, corrupt rule has been kept in place.

  25. I voted yes. Remember last season when others had a load of games in hand over us? We could well have our ground staff, and the SPL lack of concern for OUR traveling support to thank for a top six finish. Top Six This Year.

  31. I find it incredible that 27 people have voted that we will finish in the top six!!!! these people are either seriously deluded or complete bampots at the wind up I must admit before this pathetic run of results i too believed a top six place was possible but certainly not anymore i'm afraid I reckon 9th or 10th but i still see this as a success, surely avoiding relegation was the main objective seeing this is our first season back in the top flight Its time the guilty 27 take a long hard reality check dougal
