  1. Not sure if Hayes is fit yet but Cox looked ok when warming up yesterday. I think Cox is the missing link at the moment. He can protect the defence and control the midfield. The Duncan type player if you like.

  2. Interesting point. Are you basing this on history, his media friendly persona or historical position as a playing legend? Never been convinced about one and accept two as correct. At this point I understand I am supposed to shout 'I BELIEVE' and I will be subjected to adulation, the world will be a happy place and we won't get relegated. There are none so blind as those that will not see. Or something like that. Who said fanatical fundamentalism was restricted to Islamic dictatorships? Some of the clearest examples post on CTO!

  3. That was my second game of this season so far and, like the first (EEP), I came away thinking we were a lower league team unable to compete with the big boys. We have some good individual players in the squad but we still dont have a team. We lack direction on the park. We lack motivation on the park. For me we lack a captain. Richie Foran, in both games I've been to, has been pretty poor. He has hardly moved more than 20 paces all match. His effort and his touches have been pretty poor yet he has the audacity to chastise his team mates for the same. If he is going to continue to lead then he has to do it by example. He has to acknowledge good play and he has to motivate and encourage throughout the match. Foran has been excellent for us in the past but perhaps its time he was dropped for a game or two.

  5. Butcher is going to prove a lot of people wrong. Threads like these nip ma heid!

  6. You assume two points. Firstly, it is a positive to award a management team, at the bottom of their league, a new contract. Secondly, it is a shared view that our management team are 'good'. Those who disagree may not conform with what is expected here but they are entitled to there view. Just because they don't share your opinion doesn't make theirs necessarily negative and yours positive. It can be argued equally (much more realistically some might say) that your view is nonsensical and theirs pragmatic.

  7. Whilst I think it is far too early for Butcher out threads, I firmly believe that Butcher's contract extension was also far too early. So much for gelling the team.It looks as if TB and MM might just be thinking "We are set for two years now [they will get the full contract pay off if they fail] no point in trying anymore" perhaps they should have been put on 6 month rolling contracts like the players they put so much faith in.

  9. To be honest I don't think we could attract a better manager than Butcher.

  10. Sorry sonam but if you honestly think sacking Butcher is the answer to this clubs problems then maybe you should go support some other team. First off we've just extended his contract so the pay-off to get him out would be pretty much beyond our means. The problems of this club are way above Terry Butcher. The club is struggling to operate within available budgets as it is so how can we be expected to attract better management and players than we already have. Besides, once the team has been picked for a match, its the players who are letting us all down. These are supposed to be SPL standard professional footballers. They should be going out onto any pitch and giving it their all. Playing for the club that pays their wages. Playing for the fans who shell out to support them. They should even be playing as if their future depended on it. These players are the ones who's heads you should call for. Not the management.

  11. realy?? could you be anymore negative?? big deal we lost to spain we also managed to come from 2 -0 down against them at hampden yes we lost but so many countries have struggled to score one against spain never mind 2. we have been cheated out of this euro campaign by incompetetince from a certain dutchsman, when we look back at this campaign thats whats cost us we missed out by 2 points we should have got 3 points against the czechs at hampdeninstead of 1 croatia, serbia, belgium, montenegro, and wales if we dont get 12 points from montenegro and wales that would be disapointing belgium could prove a tough test but is winnable as are croatia and belgium i dont see any reason why we cant go to brazil

  12. I also feel that letting Munro go is a decision that in my eyes has not been justified. Bringing Hogg back does not count, Hogg was already at the club last season and imo he and Munro would have been a formidable partnership for this season. What Munro and Duncan lacked in skill they made up for with spirit, endeavour and a real love for the club. Im not calling into question the commitment of the players we have just now but it was clear Duncan and Munro were here for more than a mere pay cheque or an avenue to which a move to the Championship was beckoning. Butcher had spoken before about the ugly side of football and how we needed to play a certain way to win games sometimes that wasnt so pritty to watch. They were both key players in this set up and while its been quoted that we aimed to play a different style this season theres no question that the ugly approach suited us well at times and gave us some vital points on the board last season. But really what more is there to say? We can rant about it all we want but they aint coming back. I think the only real answer to the situation is to bring in some real experience in the january window in the heart of defence and midfield. What we need are players who like getting stuck into the nitty gritty side of the game that are capable of shutting out teams and arent bothered about playing the perfect pass or the perfect ball from the back.

  13. I could cope if this was just a rant in the same way as Hislops, but his slant actually comes over as a pretty dispassionate analysis of what I watched today. Hislops assessment is right, these guys came across as a buch of journeymen on short term deals who were just claiming a wage. No commitment to the club or the community that supports them. I'df only disagree about Rosscoe because he looked embarrased. Foran was a liability. He is off form, is suffering from the captaincy in the same way that Munro did but has not of Granty's humility. I see no merit in mouthing off at half of your own team when your own performance rates as dreadful. I also don't know how long we can tolerate managerial post mortems that start with "blimey" and claim to not know how it happened. Terry, you should know and you should be sorting it. Just dreadful.

  14. Just back. We were absolutely awful today, from the moment St Johnstone went in front, until the final whistle. Our attacking gameplan in the first half consisted of 'punt it down the right wing and maybe we'll win a throw in'. In the second half it turned into 'piunt it down the middle and maybe Foran will flick something on'. Whenever we got into the final third we made a mess of it - our delivery from wide areas was awful, our midfield couldn't play a killer pass and, whenever we did get the ball in their box, our ball control was utterly hopeless. Let's split it down into the various parts of the team DEFENCE - Useless. Today is incontrovertible evidence that if Proctor and Tokely are our centre back partnership for the rest of the season, then we are a shoo-in for relegation. Rossco had an absolute shocker today, bossed in the air by first Sheridan and then Haber, and completely unable to deal with Sandaza's movement. Proctor didn't win a header either and looked like what he is - a player playing out of position. Esson made a great stop in the first half but seemed all over the place for the second goal. Graeme Shinnie had his poorest game for ages, using the ball poorly and really struggling with Chris Millar. Piermayr might be my MOTM, simply because I can't recall him doing anything particularly rubbish (possibly because he did nothing at all) MIDFIELD - Useless. No-one in the entire team wanted the ball except for Tansey and Andrew Shinnie, which is a pity because they should never be allowed near it. Shinnie was back to his old self, with a hopeless first touch and no real idea of where he was meant to be playing. Davis and Tansey run around a lot, but Tansey can't pass either and all he does is try speculative shots from distance, while Davis just looked like a headless chicken. Nick Ross looked like a 5 year old playing with teenagers, since he just kept getting bumped off the ball. FORWARDS - Useless. Tade did nothing whilst he was on the pitch, but he got absolutely no service and I'm astonished he was subbed instead of Foran, who might do better if he concentrated on playing instead of just whinging at his teammates and the referee. I'm not sure he could be @rsed breaking into a sprint at any point today, he was frankly just a passenger - and not for the first time this season. SUBS - The only ray of light - Sutherland at least looked like he gave a damn. I'm not convinced Chippendale is any good, but at least he wanted to get on the ball, ran at players, and had our only decent effort on goal. I can deal with rubbish performances, but I just won't tolerate the disinterested, demotivated performance that I wasted my afternoon watching. Next week's game against Dunfermline is already a relegation six-pointer, in my view. This team badly needs Hogg, Cox, Jones, Hayes and Doran back ASAP, and surely the boss has to give Sutherland the chance to prove he's more useful than our mouthy captain. End of rant.

  15. Aye whatever. I don't have the answers to any of your issues, and don't have time to play games so sorry, you will have to ask someone else.

  16. One things for sure - if we don't play one or both of the two strikers we have, until we get a new one in on loan in the New Year, we're relegated.

  17. When we were promoted first time around our preferred choice for groundshare was McDairmid but SPL would not allow it because we were in different leagues. Falkirk tried to share with a lower league team but were also refused so I dont think County will be allowed to share with us.

  18. All this based on one weeks tables. I predict that next week we will be tenth and County fourth. Were that the case would this thread have even been thought of.

  19. Time for some major changes for me, Piermayr is rubbish so he'd be dropped shift Proctor to right back and get Gillet in at centre half alongside Rossco. Davis doesn't look the part to me and continually looks disinterested, move Nick Ross into the centre of the park as he is definitely not a winger and get Sutherland in there. Move Tade up front and drop Foran get Chippendale out wide as I don't think Hayes will be fit enough to start next weekend. Esson Proctor Tokely Gillet G. Shinnie Tansey Ross Sutherland A. Shinnie Chippendale Tade

  20. Has the team improved this season? No, gone backwards. I say Butcher & Malpas for the sack. A relegation battle is hardly exciting. It will be between us & Dunfermline. Horrible feeling that we will go down. Now is the time to change management before too late. Sack Butcher and we may just survive.

    • Aaron Doran - Club Legend
Shameful: Thanks to Shane Sutherland, the generosity of friends, fans, former colleagues and opponents, Aaron has now had his operation. However it has emerged that he had posted on Instagram regarding his sad dismissal and treatment from the Board of Inverness CT who have treated Aaron in a similar way to which they have been treating the fans. Let's not forget that Aaron was due to have a testimonial for his service to the club.

Administration pending, unless... How can we go from SupercaleygoballisticCelticareatrocious in the year 2000, to Scottish Cup Winners in 2015, playing in Europe and just 9 years after lifting the Cup; Administration. Mismanagement and our demise was hastened by the appointment of Scot Gardiner. Ever since then, ludicrous decision making has seen our stock plummet whilst 'shady' dealings were investigated. The failed Concert Company, the Battery Storage, the Statkraft contract have all ended badly leaving the club facing insolvency.

That's another fine mess you've got us into.

      Chairman Ross Morrison resigns

Nothing official from the club as we speak, but the Inverness Courier are running with a story that Ross Morrison has resigned at 18:00 tonight 3rd June.  More to come as this story develops, but most fans are looking for more heads to roll.

Speaking exclusively to The Inverness Courier, Mr Morrison said he is leaving now because of the aftermath of the Fife move. “I believe it [the move to Fife] is the best way forward and I have to stick with my beliefs,” Mr Morrison said. “This is the reason I'm stepping down now.”

Reflecting on his time with the Caley Thistle, Mr Morrison said: “My six-year tenure with the club has had some great and some not so great times but through everything I was immensely proud to be the chairman of the club and clubs I’ve supported for 50 years - I was a Jaggie by the way.

“I would ask the fans to rally round the club at this time and show their support by not only purchasing their season tickets but also getting involved directly with the club to see how they can help.

“Hearing fans saying they would prefer administration to training the first team in Kelty sent a shiver down my spine. Administration is a desperate thing to happen to a club and must, at all cost, not happen to ICTFC.”
