  1. I think the one the obvious thing that sticks out in these stats is just how milly vanilly Butcher and Foran are. It must be soul destroying for some of the players (particularly capable ones who have to be shipped off to places like Iceland or wallow on the bench) for Foran to have - and let's not beat around the bush here - some utterly awful performances yet still gets played no matter what. And I don't buy this "he's an influential captain" nonsense either, some of his tirades, particularly at some of the younger players and his shouting matches at the referee are cringeworthy and must be detrimental to team moral.

  2. When the final whistle went against Hibs at the last match and this horrible season was over.

  3. Are you suggesting that Gavin Morrison should've been played in place of Richie Foran? Foran has played well in midfield, although he was poor by his standards at the start of the season while playing up front. Another stat - Jonny Hayes had the joint fourth most assists in the SPL last season, with nine. That's the same as Paul Dixon and below Anthony Stokes (10), Kris Commons (12) and Steven Davis (13). Fantastic record for the wee man, especially considering the three players above him all finished in the top four and all played full seasons with the Old Firm.

  4. Aberdeen is an awful place in my opinion. I would know as I'm there right now. Hayes would be mad to come here.

  5. We're undefeated at home since the debut of Dancing Nessie. Get him signed up for next season.

  6. Tansey is reported to have commented : "It's a bit of a wrench to leave the club. But it's time to start the next chapter in my career. If it had been pre merger Caledonian FC I would have been staying put."

  7. Absolutely no sympathy for him, even though he is Scottish. Thought he was churlish and ungracious all season. The way he handled the Suarez controversy was a disgrace imo.

  8. The pre-season English tour. (Especially for Dewsbury Dude) 6-3 at Killie. Hayes goal at Easter Road Tades goal at Motherwell The Park bar craic after away games The Highland March.

  9. Tansey would be no great loss IMO.

  10. Does a certain Hat Trick count? :P Aberdeen in March (1-0 win) and St Mirren away (1-0 win) were my personal fave's. Mostly because the stewards allowed the banter to flow and we could enjoy the atmosphere. In terms of performance I'd say, of the games I attended, was when we played Hearts in september. Not because I scored at half time, but because we out-played them for most of the match and looked like a 'team' rather than a group of individuals.

  11. some of the stats are impressive but theres alot more less impressive stats. i often take these with a pinch of salt but these highlight the issues we have. the top 5 players are the backbone. imo they are our most played for a reason. foran - not the best footballer but a good captain imo personally love seeing him give players a kick up the erse tansey - a 23 year old playing 35 games is always a good sign. hes proven he can handle the toughness of the spl this season next season hell get more chance to express himself tade - perhaps not the most technically gifted but hes a worker. hes proven many doubters wrong this year esson - what can you say? the best keeper weve had? probably and ross tokely - even with his injury problems earlier in the season hes still up there. our main man at the back this year. the rest have either had serious injury problems ie hayes, hogg and otj or havnt been consistent enough. the average age of the player i mentioned above is about 28/29? the rest have to develop and will develop into consistent per formers like the top 5

  12. Agreed. I found myself at a club rugby match that afternoon. Heard it was 1-1 at HT and was thinking that's good, we'll settle for a point here. At FT I was in the bar and someone got the final scores on their phone and said to me "Hmmm. Kilmarnock 3....." [heart sinks] .....Inverness 6! [jumps for joy and hugs strangers]. Made it home in time to watch the rerun on Alba with some more beers. Happy times.

  13. To say that last season was a let down is an understatement, but a new one is upon us and I think this could one of the most important pre-seasons in our history. TB has to get it right and as he is the man in the job we need to get behind him and hope that he does get it right.

  14. Bloody Forres Car Repairs wouldn't have won the SHFL if we were still in it

  15. I blame the merger too. We'd never have been in the spl if we were just Caley or Thistle

  16. Having watched and also played with some of the lads that have been chucked i have to say im really suprised at some of the players who have been released and i think the club are playing a dangerous game but letting so many go.

  17. Average age of squad: 24 Points from bottom: 14 Games lost: 1/2 Games drawn 1/4 Games won 1/4 These are round ups, but add decimal points if you wish. Thing is, a very young squad (promising and potential long-term stability), easily safe in the end (albeit to a woeful Dunfermline) and maybe it's not the silky skills of Spain but it's still good enough for SPL. The likes of Partick, Dundee, Falkirk probably, most definitely, look at ICT and now Ross County and ask "tiny catchment area, newest teams in the league, miles from anywhere, no cash, what the &*?! is going on?" Every single fan would like to see a team of U21 Invernessians getting the team into the top 6 but with an average age squad of 24, and the team yet to fully gel, I think it was not as bad as some say. Next year will be the real test, however. TB is an ICT legend.

  18. The first half was absolutely hideous - I felt embarrassed for some of the players. It wasn't until that absolutely stonking free kick from Tansey that we really got going. As Greg stepped up I confidently announced "this'll end up in the wall or in the stand like all his other free kicks this season" - I'm not disappointed that I was wrong though! After that we stroked the ball about really well, especially with Jones pulling the strings. Much of our play in the final third was pretty disappointing though - of the attacking players, I thought only Jonny had a particularly good game. I was far more impressed with our back four, who looked very slick. Piermayr had an excellent game I thought, though I don't know if it will have been enough to earn him a new deal. I was pleased to see how keen Graeme Shinnie was to get forward from left back too. The big disappointment was Foran, who had a mare. As said above, Tansey had an excellent game yesterday, and I thought that when he was pushed further up the pitch in the last half-hour he looked very dangerous. The million dollar question: Do the back-to-back wins suggest we are heading in the right direction, or are they disguising the problems suggested by our horrendous form before then?

  20. Almost the horses mouth??........... Would that be the horses erse?? ;-) You will always have more willing workers and individuals who will listen and are keen to learn. Make no mistake, the coaching team will know who is in each category and who deserves a chance.

  21. - Fans pay £50 to emulate Jonny Hayes and have a square go with Richie Foran. First fan to last a minute going toe-to-toe with the Foranator wins a coconut. - CaleyD challenge: fans and players pay £25 each and have to read three of CaleyD's posts in a row without falling asleep. Winner gets years supply of Nytol. This challenge will require strict drug testing for Pro-Plus, cocaine and crystal meth. - Renegade XI. All the players Renegade has suggested we sign are recruited to play in a charity match against Caley Thistle. Fans flock for miles around to see how that eight foot tall Norwegian whaler works alongside Tana Umanga up front. - Ross County charity approach. We charge everyone £20 for, er, y'know, eh. Yep. - Everyone pays Johndo £10 to go a week without insinuating that he has insider information from within the club. The accuracy of Johndo's 'exclusives/windups/pish' will remain the same for this week. - Instead of TopSixNextYear putting bets on Caley winning 7-1 and Shane Sutherland to score hat-tricks, he donates all his bets for a month to the club. We now have more money than Manchester City and Ladbrokes are bankrupt. - ALternative Maryhill enters a 'Jesus and Mary Chain' look-a-like competition and wins £5 for the club. Sadly it's wasted when the result ofthe competition descends into a massive riot and everyone gets killed.

  22. Didn't realise he was that rich, wow. If I had that sort of wealth I'd have got my team to the SPL long before now.
