  1. Our Highland Marchers are preparing for their wee jaunt from Inverness to Mordor but it seems they've lost their maps and compass and are taking the (very) long route. Good luck to them all!

  4. Hi, Bristol City fan here. Firstly I'd like to congratulate you on a great season for Caley! Anyway, back onto the topic of Gary Warren. When I was 8/9 he was playing for my local club in Bristol, Mangotsfield United and he also trained me in my childhood. I'm now playing professional football (well, will be soon I hope - in an academy and playing u-21 football) and I wondered if there was any way to contact him. Does he have a Twitter anybody knows of? Thanks a lot!

  5. This thread has got me thinking... I wonder if we, the CTO users, could make enough money to re-name the stand in a wee crowdfunding venture. I haven't a clue how many users we have but I was looking at the cost of advertising boardings around the ground and the most expensive of these is £2500 + VAT (£3000). Now I understand the club would no doubt be looking for quite a bit more to own the naming rights to the stand but I was thinking if enough of us could club together and pay a little bit each to have the stand renamed to either something (sensible) voted for by a poll on here or we could extend this to include the Caley Jags Together and have the 'Caley Jags Together Stand' it would give the club a wee bit more cash and I know quite a few fans are often looking for ways to support the club financially. By looking at the facebook page likes (the only reference I have to user numbers) CTO has 487 and CJT has 339. So say we could get 300 people interested enough to pay £30 a season to support the club thats £9000 a year which the club isn't currently getting. £9000 isn't that much in the grand scheme of things granted but it would be a nice gesture by both the fans and the club in allowing us to have the name. Perhaps the real commercial value in this comes from the press releases and marketing that can be put out about it advertising the fact the club is willing to re-name stands and in the future create more value from sponsorship rights. Just a thought...

  7. Given that we recently started a match with only one Scot on the pitch I don't think we should start throwing stones from that particular glass house. I see that Simon Ferry has been released by Swindon. A competent midfielder who might be a replacement for Andy Shinnie. Yes, but we are not the Chairman and Manager who went on Radio Scotland to talk of their different morals (to ICT) in using local players

  8. Suprised Mathieson was released as that means we now only have one goalkeeper for next season

  10. I'm not a fan of naming stands after people really. Mainly because there's been influential people throughout (and before) the club's life and there'll be ones that may even not have yet been born! If Terry Butcher deserves a stand named after him, then what about Steve Paterson? Had it not been for him we probably wouldn't even be in the SPL today, far less challenging for Europe. He's still probably our greatest ever manager as well. And what about David Sutherland? Arguably there'd be no club without him and saved it from going belly up in the early years. And what about Dennis Wyness, Jim Calder, Ross Tokely etc? If you're going to name stands after people, where is it going to end? In saying that, I wouldn't mind seeing the North Stand christened officially as "The Bridge End" or something along those lines (and preferably not something naff like Hamilton's "Spice Of Life Stand" [yes that is what it's called!]). One idea I heard once was calling it the "Citadel" after the long gone team, we do play in their part of town after all. No sponsored or named after name for me thanks (though I could be persuaded for a Pele reference! ), though I wouldn't mind seeing christened with a more unique name.
