Flat first half followed by a flatter second half. Passed and kept the ball well but posed little threat. Plus points: Draper cruised through at CB in the 2nd half and Meekings at right back was our most attacking player. Negatives: Vincent is still struggling in mid field and we seem to want every player to touch the ball before putting it in the box.

Played with 8 recognised midfielders in the second half, with Esson, Tremarco and Meekings the only exceptions. Draper excellently made up a 3 man defence and Meekings was excellent going forward from the right back position. Sadly, nothing else really to say about game at all. Shinnie played in midfield throughout and did well, Billy scored a tap in and Watkins a header. More passing around at the edge of the box than I'd like to see and shooting was poor. Oh, and Michael Fraser was their keeper! Would have been nice to see more "new" players get a but of time of the pitch but Hughes appears to be sticking to his word about not making any changes, with the only guys on the pitch who I've never seen playing for us before being Ferguson and Rennie, neither of whom got any significant time although Ferguson certainly looked hungry for it and we were desperately needing a striker by that time. Given that we started the game with basically our first team, and all those who came on at ht were recognised and regular first team players too, it was somewhat uninspiring overall. But hey ho, let's get the rustiness out of the way before the season starts!

We didn't do any video at Clach as it's a nightmare to get a position to shoot from. Should hopefully get the full Forres game up this weekend and other friendlies will also be put online in full. Had some issues with getting mobile broadband connections at Clach and Forres for doing updates...and neither had working wifi. Fingers crossed not the same issue at Elgin.

Ayina supposedly is holding out for more money than we can really offer, I would be inclined to have conditions appended to his contract to make bonus payments for assists and goals rather than submit to his demands until he proves himself to be worth what he is asking. Being unfit at this stage so close to the season start makes me think he could be a ''lazy'' player and we have experienced that to our detriment before.

How about channeling you energy into the future and thinking about how you can help galvanise the club, fans and community. After all one half of your club is you child, the other half is your stepchild. How about looking after both of them. With the same interest. They are growing up fast, so what can you do to help them on their way.

Exactly. There's nothing wrong with being excited for new kits, I'm looking forward to seeing. Some posters just take it a tad far by lashing out at the club/members/supplier because they're not getting to see it right now. Children, Toys, Prams and all that. Pathetic.

Happy to see the Edinburgh clubs back up. Less so to see the toxic Bigot Brothers re-united as a double act.
