  2. Agents are a blight on the game. They don't add anything, but take plenty out. They destabilise players and teams, hyping up offers and promises of untold wealth. I wonder how this Polish team even heard of Marley? Could it be the agent hawking his wares around every team in Europe, regardless of whether they are a good move for him or not? So we develop players so that agents can reap the rewards.
  3. Maybe Marley should get rid of his agent and listen to Greg Tansey instead. Agents tend to get significant percentages from the deals they broker and therefore often act in their own interest rather than the interests of the player. I'm never clear why professional footballers see the need to have them. There must be a better way of arranging movement of players between clubs.
  4. Cheers Renegade - that's what I was reading earlier. There is no direct quote from Raven saying he hasn't been offered a deal (hence the reportedly comment earlier) but that seems to be the angle put on the story by the BBC. However, what he has been quoted as saying is encouraging.
  5. If his agent engineers a move to another club where Watkins gets paid more than he would do at ICT then I would say he has done a decent job. That's what they are there for - to get the best deals for their clients.
  6. I read as "there has not been as much interest in my player as I hoped so I'll make it look like there has". If there was genuinely a huge amount of interest, I think the agent would not be sating this. Agents are just leeches taking monet out of the game and putting nothing back in. You paint a good picture there regarding agents. It's all water lilies under a bridge as far as I'm concerned.

Dean McDonald didn't much game time because he was lazy, too slow, too fat and all round rubbish! His plummet through the echelons of English football tells you all you need to know about him. We've had poor players who had some at least some positive features (Lionel Djebi-Zadi was fast for example), but Dean 'Deano' McDonald must be the most talentless player we've ever had.
  8. Should the calculations not exclude points deductions? (Hearts 2013/14, Rangers 2011/12, Gretna 2007/08). That would give a more accurate prediction on where footballing performance (as opposed to financial mismanagement) would lead you to end up. Somewhere around 25 points from our last 18 ganmes should see us finish in the top 4 with a bit of luck.
  9. Indeed. The ticket prices will have changed but the one thing that will have remained consistent is that Ewan Murray will always remain a complete melt.
