  1. the legendary Glasgow Caley away supporters club once again start the new (away) season with tomorrow's trip to Perth, we have a few of our foot soldiers missing but if anyone wants to meet up and travel with a good bunch of guys (and girl) please feel free to join us in the Counting House from 11am tomorrow.
  2. I did. There was talk he'd be offered a deal earlier in the year. It was also mentioned on Over The Bridge recently, where someone claimed that Vigurs had told them in person that ICT had offered him a contract but he wasn't keen on a return. I, like a lot of other people, was disappointed when Vigurs was released, but Butcher never seemed to take to him and there was talk of a fairly cold relationship between the two. What I would find strange would be us bringing in another central midfielder when we've got more than enough of them already really and even more so when you consider that we've also got people like Danny Williams, Richie Foran and Danny Devine who can all fill in there as well. On Vigurs himself, yes he's a bit of ned but I've always thought he was a decent player and would certainly suit the style of play Yogi wants to implement. With his type of character, he needs a manager who's on his side in a sense. Yogi could be the type who'd get the best out of him.

Think a few of you need to watch this and relax. We were abysmal on Saturday and our lack of goals is concerning, but it's times like these we need to get behind the club we love and be real 'supporters'. http://youtu.be/rBLGZ0EwF1w
  4. Won't make it tomorrow but I will see you next week at Celtic Park
  5. To be pedantic and take the question literally - we actually finished 3rd in the Premiership! England's top league has been known as the Premier League since 2007.
  6. Think its safe to say you're reading too much into this. Tremarco vacated 18 to take number 3 and new signings took the other vacated numbers (Lopez - 7, Roberts - 11, Wedderburn - 15) and the rest of the squad have just kept their number from last season meaning number 18 has been left out.
  7. I was thinking the same actually, however being left footed I was wondering whether Yogi sees him as a potential back-up to Tremarco also? I might be wrong here, but I'm sure prior to Vigurs breaking into our first team, he fairly regularly played at left-back in the reserves. There certainly would be a case for playing a technically gifted player in that position with our type of football.
  8. I'd take him just to wind up the County.
  9. BY all accounts Vigurs was released because he didn't work hard enough in training. Whilst he shone at County he wasn't exactly a hard worker there either and indeed that's (one of the reasons) why he was let go at Motherwell. He's got a lot of talent but he doesn't seem prepared to really put the effort in at times which isn't good enough for a lot of managers. Will be interesting to see what happens if he is indeed on trial. To be honest, I'd take him on a six month deal just for his free kicks and corners alone.
  10. Average weekly pay for them is about £700? I'm sorry but I don't buy that. The figures are also from season 13/14. I suppose the article only talks about 'average' wage too and not the size of the squad, so it's a bit misleading.
  11. Fon Williams Raven Devine Draper Horner Wederburn Tansey Polworth Christie Williams Mutombo Sit deep, pack the box, force Saints to break us down. Would take a 0-0. Instruct Tansey, Polworth and Williams to shoot on sight. All a threat from distance. Mutombo as lone striker instructed to take men on, go for glory, show what he can do.
  12. I don't think it's a swipe at the board. It's just simply a manager making a plea to the chairman/board for a helping hand given the injury dilemma we find ourselves in.
  13. County are well subsidised by their new sponsor
  14. As ever peeple have completely misinterpreted what I have said. I wholeheartedly agree that the refuseniks were living in the 70's and Highland football was on the decline. I also am saddened that so many Invernessians fail to support their local team. BUT Charlie and others are deluding themselves by ignoring the fact that many of the old Caley and Jags fans have poisoned their families and friends. Many sway them towards the Old Firm and others, casting up delusions of grandeur from the past. I a merely stating that the 500-1000 that are being sought are less in number than those who define ICT as a plastic creation and the "thou shall not support them" is the mainstay of their way of thinking that they are exacting revenge. But again more back on the original topic - I really appreciate some of the sarcasm that a Yogi has utilised previously but not when it appears that he is aiming it at the Board. Why should he have to go to the Press to get what he clearly wants. That is very concerning in itself and tends to suggest that all is not well at the Dump. Other than Yogi's "pleas" the silence is deafening.
  15. Such is the lot of many clubs, I fear. The psychology of football support is fascinating! I have always been of the view that, for some, attending football matches (and I use that as a deliberate alternative to "supporting" a football team) is principally a means of trying to address their own personal feelings of inadequacy. If you are in a position to make a loud and public assertion that high profile individuals or, collectively, a high profile organisation are hugely inadequate well in that case you're maybe not quite as inadequate yourself as you constantly find yourself otherwise believing. Are you????? Sometimes the actual football isn't all that an important as aspect of people's visits to games. It's perhaps the same with all those guys (and it's overwhelmingly men) who invariably know FAR better than the manager how to set out the team and what tactics to use. Isn't it a scandal that such an overwhelming source of football expertise is being wasted in the stands while clubs pay good money to employ incompetents? This is what I find the most amusing aspect of going to football - all these people who individually have more footballing nous in their little fingers than the entire management team put together. So how come managers have acquired well paid jobs while these people have to pay to get in and watch? Sometimes the delusional aspects of football fans can be absolutely hilarious. As for Caley Thistle.... well I have to say that I am getting increasingly concerned that this Old Firm expectation that the default position is victory is gaining currency alarmingly rapidly among fans.

I agree with you there Kingsmills at least on the disappointment aspect, however if financial reasons will not allow further addition to the squad now, it may be prudent to do a County and review things at the half way point of the season. There is still no need for the pessimistic feel running throughout the forum, we have a nucleus of triers on our books and a manager who knows how to get things back on track. So once again I say to the doubters show patience and understanding and let's get the togetherNess back.
  17. Makes you wonder. Where would last seasons ICT have finished in the Premiership?

Astra humped West Ham Under 21s meaning that at least we went out to a decent side.

Any word on when this is out?? Take it we are getting a new away top for this year??
