  1. Alex, you seem to be getting the hang of SNP evasion tactics. You say you have given up on sensible comment because you don't like Charles's "vitriol". Yet you keep responding to him and not my, hopefully, objective comments. If you think Charles's posts spoil the debate then don't respond to them! You don't even have to read them! But please, don't use them as an excuse to refrain from sensible debate. You are better than that. And goodness knows, we need somebody who can make some serious effort to defend what they are doing. I have posted a couple of posts strongly criticising Swinney's budget but nobody has made any attempt to take issue with me or to defend the budget. They do say that attack is the best form of defense and it does rather look to me as though you are attacking Charles because you can't defend the SNP over this Tory copying austerity budget. But I rather enjoy Charles's posts. I think it is because I share his contempt for the SNP in the way in which they sway with the wind, blame anyone but themselves when things go wrong, and adopt a shamelessly populist stance on all issues with the sole aim of gaining independence. There may be parties with more objectionable ideologies (BNP for example) but at least they make pronouncements and take action consistent with their political ideology. The SNP are only interested in gaining independence, and if those who have been persuaded to support them by the sway with the wind populist rhetoric find they have been shafted afterwards, then as far as the SNP are concerned it will be job done and a price worth paying. Charles treats the SNP with contempt, because they are contemptible. But please be fair, whilst some of his posts may be rants, others make very valid and hard hitting points (like his post above titled "Swinney Bottles it".) Of course, it is those hard hitting, objective posts which don't attract the responses!

  2. Another first for ICT. Mentioned in the BBC Sports Personality 2015, ICT winning the Scottish Cup with James Vincent scoring the winning goal that wonderful afternoon at Hampden in May.

  3. Everyone in the stadium could see that we were being completely rogered down the left side during the first half. Yes Horner was very poor but surely Hughes would sort out some kind of technical help for him if he was determined that he should stay on. On today's showing Raven is a much better defender. The football we are playing is boring boring boring, lots of possession but no penetration, come on Yogi sort it out.

  4. Charles, I've given up on trying to make sensible comment because you totally spoil the debate with your constant insults. You use every opportunity in every thread you can to insult the SNP. No other person, not even DD, comes out with the same hateful vitriol that you write. No other person insults any other political party in the same way you do the SNP. Ok you dont like the SNP. Thats your choice but please stop destroying good conversation and debate with your bile.

  5. I know you mean well, but that is sexist stereotyping of the highest order! Football (for men) attended by the blokes, while mum is 'freed up' to doubtless spend the afternoon in the kitchen preparing the dinner or catching-up with the ironing! Granted, you didn't specifically say such, but it was kind of 'subconsciously' implied!

  6. The club missed a trick big style with the official Christmas card this year. Any number of photos from cup final winning celebrations or our first tie in Europe would have been far better than two Christmas trees, Santa and sleigh and club crest as snowflakes.

  7. It certainly is rather curious that we are playing rather makeshift defences and leaking too many goals, whilst a mainstay from our most successful team ever isn't getting a look in.

  8. Not Horner's finest performance today but in fairness to the lad he kept plugging away and looking for the ball even with the crowd on his back. I still think he's a valuable squad / utility player but probably not our best right back. We're going through a wobbly spell at the moment. Scraping a jammy draw at home against a team 8 points adrift at the bottom of the table is not acceptable. It's relegation form. We need our experienced heads to steady the ship. Dave the Rave should start next week. Yogi's tactics are becoming too obvious. Every team in the league is pressing high against us and winning turnovers of possession in dangerous areas yet we're still getting into trouble with hospital passes along the backline every single week. I get the impression the players are even doing exactly the same drills in training day in day out. Our play is so stale. You can see the lads virtually on autopilot at times. Making the same passes, the same runs and sadly the same mistakes! The boos ringing out at half time had nothing to do with the work rate or attitude of the players and everything to do with the tactics. Nothing ever changes. We even make the same substitutions at the same times every week. Mutombo on for the last 15 minutes when the game is stretched, even though he has no pace, no assists and no goals. As it happens he had a pretty good game today. But we really need to mix things up a bit and give some of the other lads on the bench a chance. A few weeks back the lads came out rallying around Lopez after the whole suspension issue. You'd think the guy would be desperate to get out there and redeem himself for his teammates. He's been sitting on the bench for weeks, patiently waiting for a chance to get out there and prove a point. Yet Yogi won't even give the guy a 5 minute run-out. What's going on? I could understand not wanting to interfere with the team during a winning run, but at this moment in time our form is dreadful.

    • Kelty Hearts Training Statement
What a farce we have become, a laughing stock: Did you hear the one about the footbal team from the Highlands of Scotland that want to train at Cowdenbeath? Unfortunately, unlike our board, this is not a joke. Our board are trying to rip our identity from the Highlands and replace it with shared training at Kelty Hearts. I kid you not, this is not a drill and the clowns that run our club appear to be delighted at this coup.

    • Relegation Statement
RELEGATION STATEMENT: This could have been said ten minutes after our defeat to Hamilton three days ago. So far, this is not the news that we on Caley Thistle Online wanted to hear. Pleased that we will still function as a club, disappointed that resignations have not been offered yet. Keeping fans waiting in silence for three days is unforgivable and relationships are drifting further apart than ever before. Silence is not the way forward, we deserve better as fans.

    • Inverness CT 2-3 (3-5) Hamilton - Play off final (relegation)
RELEGATED: Despite Inverness needing to get off the mark quickly, it was Accies that killed the tie inside the first fifteen minutes with strikes from Kevin O'Hara and Lewis Smith. Cammy Kerr reduced the leeway with a good strike from distance, but O'Hara struck again with a penalty before the break to diffuse the revival. We struggled to create anything of note and this reporter could not stomach any more and left the stadium. I'm told Alex Samuel pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but like the rest of the season it was too little too late.

    • Hamilton 2-1 Inverness CT - Play off final 1st Leg
A better showing from Inverness in the second half, especially with Lawal and Pepple on the park but it's Hamilton that take a one goal advantage up the A9 on Saturday. Lawal has been the standout performer in our last few games and surely he must start on Saturday. Pepple also did well, scored the goal, had an effort saved and got in a few balls across the box from tight positions.

Still, a shocker of a first half and we must be up for it from the start on Saturday.
