  1. As we enter the dying embers of 2017, who would you rate as our most improved player of the year ? In my view, it has to be Mark Ridgers. I confess that when Robbo signed him I thought it was a terrible move and the first few months seemed to confirm that. His form was terrible, his confidence was shot and it was abundantly clear that the defence had no confidence in him. We were haemorrhaging goals and Mark was directly at fault for many. I was surely not alone in wondering why we were paying OFW a relative fortune and not playing him. Mark was dropped, rightly so and not before time. However, when he got his turn again he seemed a transformed player grapping the opportunity, both literally and metaphorically, with both hands. He is now a safe, competent and, above all, confident 'keeper who has made game winning or game saving saves time and time again. It's clear that the defence have much more confidence in him and that has given them the freedom to play much better. I still wonder why we are paying OFW so much for no return but I no longer wonder why we are not playing him. So, well done Mark Ridgers, my choice as our most improved player of the year. Congratulations and keep up the good work for 2018.

I’ll take that as a yes.
  3. Games against Brechin this season have been responsible for: 39% of our points 50% of our wins 52% of our goals scored 95% of our optimism

He, G Oakley, certainly saved us today and deserves a starting place. He said he was desperate to prove himself and has shown the potential is there for him to be part of the answer to our lack of finishing. Answer to Polo chick's question may be a fitness matter he didn't look 100% last time he was on.
  5. That was a good result especially after going down to 10 men ,but difficult games ahead Oakley has to start next game

Surely now Oakley will be given as much of a chance for a starting place as Baird has had. His goals per game ratio is far better than Bairds.
  7. There is no doubting his work rate and commitment but it has been obvious for a long time that Baird is not the answer to our long standing goal scoring problem. Oakley just might be but to establish whether he is or not he needs a fair chance and a run of starts. That should begin on Tuesday. We still have a chance of forcing our way into the playoffs but to do that we need to start scoring much more regularly.
  8. We've scored 21 goals in 18 games. If you discount the 11 in 3 games against Brechin, that is 10 goals in 15 games against everyone else! After being down a half time and losing Tremarco, quite a result!

hopefully he does better than the last falkirk reject (Baird)

Zschusschen is still training to recover from injuries and illness. Nobody wants an injury or sickness.

He wasn't real. He was a made up player. His brief appearances were Brian Rice dressed up. His wages went into the kitty for the Christmas night out. Fake NewZschusschen, if you will.
  12. I would agree with Mark Ridgers his confidence has grown as well as his distribution and command of the box. Like you say kingsmills a lot of folk were calling for his head and he got benched but that did seem to give him the proverbial kick in the arse to improve and he came back stronger more confident and yes he has made some amazing saves. The fact we have him signed up long term gives stability in the defence.

I think that he would sink a few goals. He has always been adept at tap-ins and has unblocked most lower league defences. Better than some of the old boilers suggested. And he wouldn't be a drain on our expenses.
  14. Good for Seedorf..He has taken some stick on here has he not? Needs to have been given a fair chance. Ridgers seems to have done very well in the first half. Once again , according to what is reported on here, the ref was poor and inconsistent. Now that's a real downer since, in such a tight ;league, you need absolute careful consideration from refs and absolute consistency. Sigh! Real pity about the blown clean sheet thing. A win today would have bucked up the team no end but isn't it a bit fanciful to say that one more win and ICT will be in a strong position for the playoffs? After all, look at our goal difference in the table!----It's Negative, not positive.
  15. Seedorf showed real promise when he first came and before his injury. I think he has the potential to be a fine player either In defence or further forward.
