  1. We may have limited resources but the recruitment under John Robertson has been far more promising than under either of his predesdors who had much much bigger budgets.
  2. Why don't you just do a Bannerman and have a wee break.
  3. It does make you wonder how Robbo would have done with the budget that Yogi & Foran had....that's a pointless 'What If?' question, I know... Good to sign Jamie McCart on a permanent deal...a known quantity & a decent signing with plenty of potential. It shows one of the reasons Robbo was appointed this time around...he knew the club & took an interest in it, so he was, no doubt, well aware of McCart from his previous loan spell...
  4. Pleased with that news. Looked to have something about him. Yet another young recruit with potential.
  5. That's great news about Jamie.... Brilliant player who gave it all under foran but was probably misled from the off by an inept manager. Under Robbo he will be a big player of that I have no doubt
  6. Whilst this should not become a debate about any individual poster, I have to disagree. CB has long attacked and attempted to bully individual posters particularly those who he perceives to be less intelligent or less articulate than himself.
  7. I think you are wrong to imply that Scarlet Pimple had any wish to force Charles Bannerman to withdraw from these forums. That sort of thing is I think way beneath his dignity. It is true that Charles seems to have lost his way a bit, and was maybe less aware of what is acceptable and what is not, and Mr Pimple merely offered him guidance. The faux outrage at some of Charles' more controversial posts was particularly distasteful. Although I didn't always agree with Charles' point of view, and we occasionally crossed swords, I regret his decision to withdraw as his posts were generally insightful, sometimes inciteful and always well presented, and I do hope that once he's cooled down a little, perhaps researched what is acceptable and what is not, that he will resume his valuable contributions to these forums.
  8. Different if he was sent on trial to Raith Rovers. I presume Hearts were interested and asked if he could go down for a week during the winter break. I see that as the club not standing in his way on his own progression. I don't fall for this poor Jake routine. Every time he performs well he improves his chances of getting an improved contract with a bigger club. It would be unfair if he wasnt allowed the opportunities to perform, or was left out the team despite good performances. Neither of these are true. Jake's destiny is in his own hands. He has a fabulous opportunity at Hearts who are severely lacking in wide players with pace. Will he take it, time with tell. Going by his time with us, I doubt it.
  9. Oh Dear! Did I inadvertently hit the bullseye --- or what? Sticks and stones will break your bones but names will never hurt you. Besides I've got a thick skin. Slithery Alligators are like that.
  10. If anyone 'had it in' for Bannerman, it would be purely down to his style of trying to make himself sound so much better than anyone else on here.
  11. Jamie McCart was signed for us again on a two year deal. I thought he was decent last time he was here.
  12. Let's hope that relations between the three joint hosts have thawed a little before the tournament takes place. I see that a US diplomat was quoted as saying that there was a special place in Hell reserved for the Canadian Prime Minister. I can't help feeling that he's getting his Canadian Justins confused.
  13. Well, Caley D, you are entitled to your opinion about Jake. Not a problem. But when a player has ability but hasn't really contributed a great deal at the beginning of his tenure, then improves slightly in fits and starts but erupts in spasms of very demonstrative anger and didn't he also have a tantrum as he went off the field once and kicked a bottle or something--what if that had hit Scotty's little boy? THEN what? Nice as he may be off the field, that would have created a REAL incident for the club wouldn't it? So these actions could very easily have led to his being sent off. Secondly, if he had been suspended, even for one game, you are forgetting that the team at that stage needed that situation like a hole in the head. Correct? And these uncontrolled outbursts were emotionally unsettling for the other players !! In this scenario what exactly do you mean by saying he is not letting the team down? Jake was something of a Prima Donna and also was a potential liability. And that was, IMHO, what John Robertson saw as a mature person and did the best for the club (and Jake by the way) by giving him his chance at Hearts. And Robertson should be given credit for the smartness of that move. I was very relieved when it happened because I sensed a negative situation about to happen with Jake...…... The club was not unaware of Jake's talent, he simply did not apply these talents often enough and he allowed his emotions (from what I could see) to erupt in public in tantrums that were unseemly and reflected on the club as well.Frankly he was too immature (young, whatever) and although I wish him well I could not see him as being a major contributor to Caley thistle either last year or this new season.
  14. Sarcasm at its best.
