  1. I actually enjoyed that, particularly some of the attacking play in the first half. Walsh, Polworth and Oakley combined really well for the goal and continued to do so as we pushed hard for a second. The game should've been done by half-time but while Welsh sent the keeper the wrong way and struck the ball well, it hammered off the post. It was one of the better penalties we've seen over the past couple of years and I hope he continues to take them. Oakley caused havoc from the off but the ref didn't seem to like the fact that he gives as good as he gets and he was harshly booked. I'm finally convinced that Oakley is our best option up front (despite his glaring limitations) and I think Robbo is too. Unless he picked up a knock, he was hooked to avoid a red and if he's fit I expect he'll start next week. We picked up where we left off after the break with pressure on the Morton goal and were quickly rewarded when Doran glanced home from a corner. It looked like we were going to coast home from there until Johansson made up double change on the hour mark. The boy Tiffoney was clearly told to run into the space between Rooney and McKay (how many goals have we conceded from down that channel this season?) and he had a couple of goes at it before the cracking run and finish for the goal. Ridgers might've been slow down to it but he redeemed himself later in the game with a trademark claw from a close range header. Robbo responded to the Morton goal by bringing on Trafford for Doran and and going to a 4-4-1-1 with Polly pushed up behind White. This did not go well - Trafford is a bombscare and our midfield 4 retreated, allowing for a spell of very uncomfortable Morton pressure. The next change saw MacGregor come on for Welsh to take Polly's position behind White - that looked a really weird one at the time but the young boy's running helped see us over the line fairly comfortably as we sclaffed everything forward into space in the final minutes, preventing any sniff of a late Morton push. While it was a shame to see us reduced to that after such a composed first half performance, I suppose it was at least another demonstration of the great spirit that this side posseses. And it was a crucial 3 points that give us a wee cushion in 4th place - I'd be delighted with that come May. A word for Cappielow, a delicious relic full of really sound folk. Always a great welcome for the kids (who paid £1 each) and a wide range a well priced sweets. Not complaining about the leg-room, but I'd love to get my feet on that terracing someday.
  2. I'd happily settle for a scrappy one goal win with the goal deflected in off Ross Draper's arse.
  3. 2 points
If we bring in any new players in the January transfer window, they need to be better than the ones we already have, they need to improve the team and push us on. I remember Hughes saying he would only sign players that were better than what we had, and then brought in duffer after duffer. Robbo needs to use the money, if there is any, wisely. If the players aren't available, he should show his trust in our youth. I am old enough to remember Donald Park, Tichy Black and Davie Milroy, to name but a few, playing for their school teams in the morning and their respective Highland League clubs in the afternoon, it certainly didn't do their careers any harm.

Reckon we should go for Barry Wilson and David Bingham.
  5. The next three games could set the tone for the season: we have the top two and also Queen of the South, out closest challenger for a play off place. We are unbeaten in 8 away games this season, with four wins, so need not fear County. Where we need to improve is at home, with only one win in nine to date. That is holding us back. There is little between all the teams. When we play is fast we are as good, or better, than anyone, we just don't do it often enough. We have raised our game in the two games with County so far, and been as good as them. I really hope we can come away with three points on Saturday. Soubds like the first goal yesterday was well crafted by Oakley and Polworth bEfore Walsh finished it. More of the same, please!
  6. Welcome to the forum. Nice topical username you have, but maybe we can work on the dyslexia ?
  7. Great to get a win under the belts. Magnificent if we could give the gadgies a right pumping next week ?
  8. Caley Stan has summed it up perfectly. Morton looked devoid of any confidence from the start and resigned to defeat after they went down to 10. We should have gone for the kill but took the foot of the gas and began to panick as Morton made the changes and came at us. Made a meal of it basically but held on for a crucial 3points. Thought Ridgers, McCart, Walsh and Oakley did well.
  9. Erm! Riccardo Calder ???
  10. Up the road with three points at least.
  11. Muirtown Jaggie it looked a 4231 to me and it’s was great to get the win but still think we sit in and allow the opposition to dominate play at times Granted Robbo wasn’t going to change to two up as it doesn’t seem to be his way especially after we went two goals up. Still convinced if we were more aggressive and play more offensive with two strikers we would win more games convingly. The stats for strikers as you were asking now is White 13 starts 8 goals (ratio 1.62 ) Austin 7 starts 4 goals ( ratio 1.75 ) Oakley 11 starts 5 goals ( ratio 2.2) All decent stats and thought although neither striker scored today they both played well imo Also thought Trafford did well when he came on too and put himself about well too. Ridgers once again has to be congratulated as he certainly played his part in getting the victory. We don’t make it easy for ourselves and missing the penalty really didn’t help when we could have buried them as they had just got a man sent off and I feel Morton heads would have gone down just before half time. Walsh and Doran did well in an attacking sense but feel we need an out and out left sided player like Calder to deliver balls into box from that side of pitch .Polworth had a mixed day and I watched more closely as others have said he gives up at times and that’s exactly what happened as he was in and out of the game and his slackness cost us the goal however he created one for us too so that was good. Looking forward to next week now as I feel we can go there with some confidence.
  12. He was poor the last season with us and has done nothing since!
  13. An away win and back in a promotion play off place. A fine gift to send all of us ICT fans into the festive season full of blue, red and black good cheer.
  14. Anybody fancy Breakfast at Tiffoneys ?
  15. You wouldn't want Tansey back omg he's like Pirlo compared to our current midfield his wages would kill us he'll no be back
  16. 0-2 great header from Doran !!!! Good to see him back on the score sheet !! ?
  17. Sports Bar will not be open but car park will be open to leave your cars.
  18. OK, they are also announced on the official twitter feed prior to games. If I had any complaint with them they are usually not online until matchday, but there's a lot of content within and a fair bit to collate and publish I suppose.
  19. Think they are just on the official site, but if I see them before our own preview goes out I add a link to them. Might be an idea to have them filed on CTO as well.
