  1. Strewth, one game in and the long knives are out. Not sure im going to last a whole season like this. Anyway, my stream was decent enough, the score was not what I hoped for, the team are badly depleted and Brad Mckay was no worse than anyone else. He made several good tackles, blocks, clearances. Maybe look at another Mackay who was on his arse most of the game. No standouts for Inverness such was our lack of depth and quality. Such is life.
  2. It is a concern. 3 competitive matches and in each of them we have had one of our forwards needing to be subbed in the first half because of injury. That is unusual to say the least. It may be a reflection of the long lay off and a very short pre-season with our guys being amongst the last to come back off furlough. They may well have been keeping themselves fit, but there is a difference between general physical fitness and football fitness. Hopefully there is nothing serious and they and the players who have yet to feature will be back soon. If we are going to feature at the right end of the table at the end of the season we need to stay relatively injury free.
  3. Disappointing result but we have to remember that we were without Toshney, Carson, Doran, Storey, Sutherland and Kennedy. That's six players that if were fit would most likely of started today's game. With us not having the biggest squad that's a huge problem. Any team would struggle to be missing six key players. Obviously not a great way to start the season but let's hope some of these guys can be fit and we see a better result and performance next week.
  4. Agree with that there maybe wasn't much in it in terms of possession but when the few chances in front of goal did arrive they tended to fall the way of Dunfermline. Good save from Ridgers to deny O'Hara (I think) at the near post in the second half. Criminal defending for all three of the Pars goals from our PoV with Mckay looking very limp for the both the first and third with the entire defence looking suspect for the second. The third, whilst being a cracking strike by McManus, should never have been offered up as an opportunity had Mckay just dealt with the ball instead of dallying on it. So many problems the result of our own slack play. Very little to get excited about in an attacking sense as well. As mentioned above MacGregor was ineffective on the left continually wanting to check back inside to get the ball onto his right foot and McHattie seldom got beyond him to offer a wide option. Duffy was a bit more aggressive down the right flank and but certainly not in a similar manner to what we have been used to with Rooney in the last. I think only Harper put in a decent cross after he came on with a lot of our attacking play focused through the middle of the pitch where I thought Wilson protected the defence well snuffing out any attacks that were building in the centre. Trying to be positive, we did have a lot of attacking players out that would hopefully have made a difference today but we would still have had that defence out there so... Pars TV worked fine for me although it did drop a couple of times but a quick refresh sorted that out. Commentary wasn't too bad either.
  5. I knew I should have spent that twelve quid on a fish supper, a pickled egg and a bottle of Belhaven Best.
  6. At least you've got a good reason for a refund. The rest of us haven't...
  7. I think it's very likely that this is what Robbo will go for, unless he prefers McKay and Harper to Devine and McHattie. I'd go for exactly the same back four and midfield two as you; the one change I'd quite like to see (but I don't see any chance of Robbo making it) is Toddy dropping out, Keating playing as our 9 and Vincent coming in, either as the 10 or on the right of the three. I worry that with Todorov starting we'll be too quick to start just trying to hit him with long balls, and nothing really seems to stick to him. Obviously Keatings' tendency to drop deep to try to pick up the ball could be frustrating in such a formation, but he claimed in our podcast interview over the summer that he'd like to play as a 9, so this would be his chance. As I said though, I don't see Robbo starting like that. Beers in the fridge and properly excited about this, even though I see Dunfermline as clear favourites today.
  8. Saturday morning. ICT playing an important league match and an opportunity to watch albeit remotely. What a welcome injection of normality into this thoroughly abnormal year.
  9. Concerning is the rate at which our key players are falling foul of injury...why don't our backup players get crocked? Who's next, dare I ask...
  10. Same old same old... Start off with 50% of the first team missing, no striker can't score and drop away until Christmas
  11. And yet not remotely surprising (to the extent that I am £20 richer than I was at 3pm, but it’s little consolation). Such a weak starting line up and bench. With injuries and a lack of games, I don’t think we have ever been so unready for the season to start.
  12. McHattie and McKay should be nowhere near the first 11. Why can't our blinkered manager not see this?
  13. No structure, no leadership, no punch, no striker, no hunger...
  14. The streams been perfect for me. The football has not.
  15. Yes! Toddy. 1 up! Assist by Daniel Mackay with cross from right.
  16. That would be interesting and mean a change of style which could be beneficial as we tend to be good when we move the ball quickly. Vincent did play in an advanced role at times in his first spell when he effectively replaced Andy Shinnie.
  17. The game tonight was a really good advertisement for the Championship with some terrific goals from both sides. On that form, Hearts are going to run away with the league. Dundee may have got a gubbing but that was more to do with Hearts' very clinical finishing. Dundee scored 2 very good goals and had other decent efforts. If they can tighten up defensively they will be very much in the mix at the end of the season. Without Doran, Carson, Storey or Kennedy available for our opener, we will do very well to get anything out of the game. The number of pre-season injuries is really pretty alarming and we need players up to match fitness and to stay injury free if we are to reach the play offs. This will be a difficult season for us in so many ways. Hopefully Togetherness will see us through.
  18. I think what the County fans who were at the game found most difficult was not being able to leave before the end of the game.
  19. Hopefully soon because the donkey just doesn't learn! It was and is obvious how ***** duds like McKay are but the stupid donkey sticks by them when they need released. Surely a young CB is better than that dud!
