  1. Old habits die hard. I imagine that Dave Milroy was exhausted after carrying Billy Urquhart around in his pocket all evening.

  2. What a wonderful man he was. So sorry to hear of his passing. I will always remember those wonderful days in the Innes Bar before and after the match. R.I.P Colin and I'll raise a glass of single malt in your memory.

  3. At a function last weekend, I purchased four places at hospitality for tonight’s game in a charity auction. I must give absolute credit to the club, as the whole evening was terrific and well worth the £95 per head that the normal package costs. Keith Haggart is a talented and entertaining host. The meal from Red Poppy was excellent. The bar (included in the price) had excellent service. Two legends spoke, Billy Urquhart of Caley fame and Davie Milroy of Thistle fame, and both were informative and entertaining. Kirk Broadfoot spoke after the game and came across really well, and was very positive about our squad and promotion chances. Manny Duku also appeared and spent time with a table of younger fans. I have not done hospitality since before the first lockdown, but was really impressed. We have improved the package and that was reflected in the numbers there, the highest since it was restarted. I have no hesitation in recommending it and hope it goes from strength to strength.

  4. Here's the article we wrote when Colin left the Innes Bar and Craig took over. This was back in July 2011. Cheers Colin With Terry Butcher ringing the changes on the field of play at the end of last season, it's also the end of an era off the pitch as well for many Caley Thistle fans as news that the Innes Bar will be changing hands had filtered through. No big deal I hear some say as pre-match aperitif's will still be available, but what will not be available is long time custodian Colin MacFadyen serving your choice of thirst quencher, or shouting juice, whichever cranks your handle......

  6. I know we apparently started off the season well, then went into a slump, and are maybe now coming out of it. But, to be honest, I haven't see that much difference in our performances throughout the season. A lot of effort, sometime quites good running, but not many chances, and usually poor finishing. Sometimes we get lucky and score, sometimes we don't. Doddsie was saying something similar on TV on Friday. He said he wasn't unhappy with recent performances, but was unhappy with the recent results. I agreed with that.

  8. Deserved win but for a long time until Welsh's superb hit I wasn't sure where we were going to get the goal from as I didn't feel we were creating many really good chances. I spent a stupid amount of time in the first half trying to figure out why no one was celebrating Shane's "goal" as I was sure it was nestled in the back of the net before I finally realised it had gone behind. Good chance for Mckay in the first half from a MacGregor flick and that was probably it really for us. Killie were very poor. Considering his recent run of form I was very surprised at how poor Shaw was and Chris Burke might finally be out of the pocket of Robbie Deas by now. Good effort from the YT in the West Stand. Shame that it sucks any noise away from the rest of the ground but maybe if they turn up in those numbers more often the long term future for them could be at the bottom of Section E of the North Stand and more people there might feel inclined to join in.

  11. Off topic but, if you think we have had it tough in the years since our Scottish Cup triumph, spare a thought for our cup final opponents. Relegated to League 1 despite having considerably greater resources and a significantly larger fan bsse than us and today thumped 6-0 by Queens Park leaving them languishing in the middle of the division made up almost entirely by part time teams. Whenever you are feeling a little down always remember that things could be worse, you could support The Bairns! Worse still, you could be Paul Sheerin.
