  1. It is with great sadness that we let everyone know of the passing of one of our site moderators 'Kingsmills'. Colin had been a member of the site for many years, definitely someone you would consider one of the originals. He was also a moderator on the site for much of his time here. Like all mods, he had his fair share of run-ins with some posters but as far as I am concerned always handled things pretty fairly. To my knowledge, I had never met Colin in person as I had already moved to Canada when he became a mod and we never (knowingly) crossed paths at the stadium but in email or PM dealings with him it was always pleasant. Condolences and respects to his family and friends.

  2. Likewise, I never met Kingsmills either, but his contribution to the running of this site was always much appreciated by fellow mods. Condolences to family and friends.

  3. The decision not to open the other stands on Sat was vindicated by the poor crowd, but its impossible to know if this was because of: lack of glamour in the opposition, cost of living starting to bite and folks not having additional funds beyond ST's, the run up to xmas and the chance to go shopping or the fact the WC is on an football is free on TV for now. Overall the attendance figures across all SC games was poor and I do think the SFA & clubs missed a chance here to tap into fans by advertising better, creating interest and lower prices - there will be some Premiership fans who could have been pulled through the door of a local game. Half closed stadiums and no TV coverage (maybe I missed it but what happened to highlights programs) for Scotland's top cup competition does suggest a lack of enthusiasm which the public feed off.

  4. Hopefully the club will open up the North Stand for this tie and make it look as though they actually want fans to come and support the team in a competition we actually won a few years ago. It's not the most attractive tie but it is eminently winnable. We need a good run in the cup to get a bit of a buzz around the city for the team. Hopefully club and fans can come together to get the cup spirit back for this one.

  5. This is such sad news. I always liked his contributions and opinions on this site, and had recently missed his views on all things related to the club. I often wondered if our paths ever crossed, at the wonderful park whose name they both shared, and being a fellow Jaggie since 1970, who knows? RIP Kingsmills

  6. I don't think I've ever met Kingsmills, but I enjoyed both his balanced viewpoint and impassioned discourse in his many postings across the years. Being a fellow Jaggie, I also appreciated his support in numerous threads too! RIP ❤❤

  10. I was aware of this. Can I add my condolences. Another site stalwart bites the dust.....this is always hard to hear. No matter what you think of someones contributions, a quarter of a century of input must be applauded. I always enjoyed Kingsmills; like Scotty I dont think we ever crossed paths . Thanks for all your efforts over the years and may you rest in peace.
