Wouldn’t it be sweet if Gardiner submitted his application to Rangers but it just sat in an inbox of thousands of unread emails!

This is the business model of most of Scottish football (not just the lower leagues TBF) only most fans are too blinded to see it. Majority of clubs are in debt and its wiped out or covered by soft loans from director(s) - plenty clubs are one death or external business collapse from plunging into admin. Biggest shock is that so many are literally hanging on by the smallest margins every year.

The more teams in touching distance the better as any of them could go on a wee run.

With the Fans Meeting taking place at 1230 on Saturday in Bar 94, Stagecoach are operating an additional journey at 12.00 noon from the Bus Station, allowing fans time to grab a pie or a drink before the meeting starts. The normal matchday buses will also operate, so this Saturday there are departures from the Bus Station at 12.00 noon, 1.00 pm and 2.15 pm, with journeys leaving the Stadium 10 minutes after the full time whistle and again at 6 pm. Concession passes are valid on all journeys, with the fare for non concessions being £2.40 single. We are grateful to Stagecoach for adding the extra journey this week, and hope it will be well used by fans attending the Fans Meeting.

Despite the fact that another team in administration would lift us out of the danger zone, for sure, I would not wish the situation our club has been in on anyone. I also think it would take away a bit the monumental efforts that our team have put in this season to escape the drop, which has been nothing short of amazing. Something is very wrong in the lower leagues system, that so many clubs are struggling. Like any other business, clubs must learn to live within their means.

Not immediately affecting us but an Arbroath win might keep Kelty in our sights.

A reminder that the Supporters Trust is holding a Fans Meeting in Bar 94 at 1230 on Saturday, before the match against Montrose. Full details are in the flyer below, but the meeting gives fans an opportunity to put questions to Charlie Christie, Scott Young or the Supporters Trust Board. Charlie and Scott will be giving updates on the club's situation and Charlie will be sharing some memories of the club's first 30 years. I thought it was a pretty average game but quite open at the same time so there was plenty of opportunities to get excited about even if most efforts didn't trouble the respective keepers. Kelty played some nice stuff in the first half, lots of quick one touch passes which had us chasing shadows. Their pressing was quite intense as well. A pal commented it was quite similar to how QotS played against us in the recent midweek defeat. McIntyre was roasting Stewart at LB for us so it was puzzling when Mulgrew moved him into the middle of the pitch for most of the second half. That said his final ball was poor so even when he did beat Stewart he tended to cross it straight to Musa. We definitely got lucky with the penalty shout. At the time I thought it was a foul so happy to get away with one there if the highlights show it was a spot kick. We were much better in the second 45. Looked like Kellacher really encouraged our full backs push right up, helped by McIntyre leaving the Kelty right side for the centre. The first 10 - 15 minutes was probably our best spell of the game even though we didn't score. Fortunately Bavidge did eventually pop up with a close range winner. Nice dink into the box from Mckay to setup Gilmour who played a nice ball across goal for Bavidge to tap in. I've been very impressed with him in the few games I've seen. Think I read 7 goals in 5 games which is outstanding form. Decent setup at Kelty. All the portacabins are a bit naff but the social club is pretty good and the food was surprisingly enjoyable as well. Would go back again.

With Kevin Holt just signing for Derry City we will no doubt look back on the last transfer window (s) as ones where we could have lost key experienced players.
