  1. Watched the game on Alba. Wish I hadn't. Awful to watch. Sloppy all over the pitch. It's going to take a monumental effort by Kells to get these players motivated for the final games of the season. Bouncing back from that performance to beat Stenny is not going to be easy. Lose that then we have to feel it's all over. We really do need to avoid the play offs.
  2. I was surprised when Sole came off the pitch - I hadn't realised he'd been on it.
  3. It's a sad day when the highlight of our weekend was County getting pumped 0-4 in a six pointer relegation battle. ☹️
  4. High percentage of our passing today either missed the intended target or was intercepted with costly repercussions. Players off form or the tombola selection preventing vital partnerships developing? Who knows, a poor performance to go with the terrible (but justified) result. We don't have the time for an extended period of navel gazing. This needs to be put behind us quickly, time to focus on the week ahead.
  5. I don't care if the grass is wet. The mood I was in when I went out, I would have got down on my knees and chewed the grass short myself! I had a tidy of the shed instead - it felt good to throw some crap around for a bit!
  6. Baggies 4 Jaggies Good effort guys Going to the Wyre TimHaskey 2 Flights booked from Birmingham to Glasgow via Belfast to get to the Wyre Stadium on Sunday for @ICTFC v Raith with Neil Brown. ‘Mon the Caley! @ShedBaggie One flight down from BHX to Belfast to get the 2nd to Glasgow for @ICTFC v Raith in the Scottish Challenge Cup Final. ‘Mon the Caley! 💙❤️💙❤️
  7. Congratulations to Dougie in what has been a difficult year for him
  8. Funny how Zimba plays against the world’s best then looks out of his depth against Raith Rovers. Must be the jet lag!
  9. Frustrating watch, just sloppy all round and mistakes were punished. If we were going to persist with playing out from defense then I feel Alonge and Zimba shouldn't have come off sooner as they struggled to get into the game. Could have done with an extra experienced head on the pitch for the game. For all the fuss we made signing Witherspoon in the summer, don't feel like he's played much and is a bit wasted.
  10. Congratulations to Raith Rovers. Deserved winners. Bossed the match from the outset. Not a competition that gets me excited, however wanted ICT to win today. I don’t know what affected our boys today but they appeared subdued or overwhelmed by the occasion. Never really a threat and the defence looked at unease with the big lad Cameron. Take the 100K and get back up the A9. bc
  11. Watching on tv, I felt we showed them too much respect early on and struggled to settle. Credit to Alfie Stewart for redeeming himself after his slackness contributed to Raith’s goal. A first half of two halves. Raith bossed the early stages but we’ve grown into it and finished the half on top. All to play for, but we need to cut out the slack passes.

In the play offs, it’s two semis then a final. 9th plays 4th with the 9th placed team at home in the second league. 2nd plays 3rd with the 2nd placed team at home in the second leg. In the final, the winner of the semi involving the 9th placed team is at home in the second leg.

Can County escape the drop? It's looking like a play-off place at best at the moment. John Rankin is interim manager at Ayr United and that might perk them up, but it's tight from 8th up to 5th where Raith Rovers sit. 14. I blame everything on Stenhousemuir. That aside, we did remarkably well to get to this Cup Final.
  15. Thing is Cameron’s physicality is what we will most likely come up against with most teams if we achieve promotion (and there has to be a degree of uncertainty about that just now). We had our ‘big’ forwards in Zimba and Alonge on the park today. It will take a couple of days to make a sensible assessment of today’s defeat (ie game plan / tactics). A difference for me (on first impressions) was our service to our forwards was poor to non existent for the most. - They had to fall deep to get any possession, as such their strengths (not running) went most unused. Raith to the contrary used the large amount of space we afforded them (by sitting too far back) to get their ball players to put pressure on our defence. Mistakes happen to the best of players. AlfieS is one of our top players IMO, but today it just didn’t work for him. (Just unlucky for an off-day to occur). We certainly missed Danny at CH. Remi is a (VG) sweeper. But he needs a large CH in front of him to be effective. We suffered I feel today not having that bulk. The match and cup run is now done and history. We have too much to look ahead to feel sorry for ourselves. Move on and prepare for the Stenny match. bc
  16. So disappointing. Thought Wotherspoon did more than Sole and Alonge put together in the small amount of time he was on. Seemed very self-inflicted, and hope it doesn't affect us going forward. Talking of which, does someone want to tell Joe Chalmers which direction we play in - every move was backwards!
  17. Disappointed that we let a lumbering donkey score twice against us, he must’ve thought it was Christmas. Can’t remember us being up against such a slow forward in recent years.
  18. The only good thing about that second half is that it saved us from unwanted extra time.
  19. I feel we could have done without the distraction of this cup, pretty sure it hasn’t helped with the concentration needed to finish this season as champions. Silver lining is, I suppose, the 100k runners up prize money but I worry that the whole episode will dent confidence before the real cup final against Stenny.
  20. A chastening second half. Can’t make mistakes like that against full time sides and get away with it.
  21. Tongue in cheek, where on earth are you 😂😂?? My grass is soaking and will take time to recover from last night’s snow as I cut it on Thursday, which now seems a big mistake. The squad needs to put today behind them and focus on five more cup finals in the league. It is also a message that, whilst we saw off Partick and Ayr, we’ve a way to go if we do go up.
  22. Please take Alonge off, and put on a fooballer. And keep reminding the back four and midfield which direction they're playing in. We're lucky to still be in this match... but as Robert said, there's all to play for!
  23. Jamie 🚘 6hrs 42mins Wales to the Wyre Another pilgrimage to #Scotland tomorrow to watch the mighty #ictfc in the Challenge Cup Final. Leaving at 0800 to hopefully have time for a stop or two en route...

Was up at Coonty - Airdrie game today and whilst not last chance saloon, it was a key game for both clubs. Contrary to the last game I seen (RC 2 - DF 2), County simply weren’t at the races and Airdrie were a deserved 3 goals to the better at HT. With a few player changes County had the better of second half but really didn’t test the Airdrie goal keeper. The RC ‘goal’ was clearly offside. Have to say i thought Airdrie were ahead in just about every aspect of the game ie skill, game plan, passing and attitude. Based on what I seen from them today I’m surprised they are in the relegation scrap. What does this mean to us (ICTFC). Time is running out for RC to avoid automatic relegation. They need other teams to slip up to give them a chance of getting into a playoff place. If we, ICTFC end up finishing behind Stenny in 9th place, then my preference is it’s RC we’ll play if we avoid elimination of the winners of the Alloa -QoTS playoffs. bc
  25. Why oh why is this thread being discussed when we have a league to win? All it serves to do is to introduce negative comments at a time we don’t need them. It would be better to close it and reopen once the season is by with. Some folk just can’t see the bigger picture.
  26. Utter *****. I'm off to mow the grass. Sorry Kells but you got things horribly wrong today. Alonge was lost, Sol did nothing, Those are the two who should have been off at half-time. Takes over an hour to make a change at 2-1. Spoonie would have been on earlier if it were me. We needed that older head to boss things out the middle of the park. Bavs should have been on from the start not Alonge. 4-1 down with 3 of their goals being gifts. If we turn up like that on Saturday then the playoffs is as good as it gets. You need to get a grip Kells ... and fast!
