  1. I am going to log off and book up the Travel Lodges fer this season - apart from the sojourns to the Govan Hilton - fer the remainder of the season. I reckon the young boys of the Sesh Army now make ICT one of the BEST - if not the smallest - supports in Scotland. We have a rare repetoire of songs and more and more appear to be joining the choirboy list - just call me Father John !! So join up fer the Caley Away club and here is one fer the Stattos - when was the last time we got beat away. I was at Dumbfarmlife just before Xmas and I reckon we have played 11 away league games, scored 25 and lost 4 - undefeated.

  2. Quick note to say ............what a great day in the sun. The whole summer wine crew in attendance............a support in great voice............the boys playing a blinder. Goal difference plus 3 after Celtic at home and d Utd away cannot be bad. Superb opportunity surely to move onto 6 points next week. Richie still to come back. Its looking quite good to say the least. Will leave it to others for in depth analysis.....those more eloquent and insightful than me. Now..............where is that darkened room?

  4. They wouldnt let me put up my flag when we were in the SPL last - two reasons - the first was fair enuff as they stated that it was too big in one area as it could mack the advertising but they did then say that it could also interfere with the potential view of people sitting in the bottom tier. I wasnt actually swearing by myself - I was joining in a chant !! - but the ***** comment was a classic - But the other reason they gave me was that I was inciting people to stand up by singing "Stand up for the Caley Jags". The copper outside actually said that they were fed up with the stewards and said the words "It never happens to the Old Firm or Aberdeen". I was then actually invited to sit quietly in the stand behind the goals. I lasted two minutes and thought that the pub was a better offer. What is the point of complaining RIG - because they will just quote the rule book - Lets feckin face it standing at a game and singing being offences is a joke and the stewards get their kicks out of picking on teams with smaller followings.

  5. I'd rather see Esson playing for Scotland than Kenneth, as either keeper or defender. Esson is certainly much closer to international standard then Kenneth is, and he wouldn't be out of place as 3rd choice keeper in the international squad. If he maintains his form of the last 12 months then Levein will notice him. Precisely. I fully expect that he would sit on the bench for any Scotland game right now. He wouldn't displace McGregor, and when Gordon comes back, McGregor will drop to the bench. Gordon is a better keeper and a far better person than McGregor ever will be. Unless there are a whole load of injuries, I don't think Esson will ever get off the bench for Scotland, except maybe in an experimental line-up for a friendly match.

  6. Only as good as your last game- no need for specifics and past glories- Caley may get there - i don't deny it ,but presently they are also -rans. Build a team and take your chances- there is only room for one big fish in this wee pond up here and it's not Caley T.

  7. You are assuming I live in the REAL capital of the Highlands- but due to work commitments it is probably somewhat closer to Inverness than yourself . Incidentally, this 'Haddie' actually goes to the matches! ......and is not blinded by devotion. Geography not your strong point either? Officially Aberdeen is not in the Highlands. Geographically it is the Highlands! - not regionally, but The Highland Boundry fault starts above Stirling in my atlas. Anyway, another example of ICT fans going off topic to avoid talking about real football issues - of which Thistle have plenty of.

  8. Don't agree Alex, they are on a sports quiz every week, they should know most of the basics. I could name who got promoted from the bottom 2 leagues in england. Not even getting the team name right is just ignorance. Besides they should at least know where Terry Butcher is managing - it's not like he's just been here a few months and they don't know who he is. Although while I think they are ingnorant fools (and in the case of dawson a jumped up wee arrogant toss-pot) their answer I find rather amusing rather than annoying.

  9. Okay then, what about home fans screaming "I hate those F**ian c**ts, get into those F**ian ba**ards"? We are not without our own bigots.

  10. Well folks, good result for the wee highland team this week. However I think this needs to be put in pespective, Dundee Utd are a weak kitten in comparison to last season's cup winning, table stormers. Looking at the highlights Celtic knocked you up and down for 90mins the previous week. To be honest I think its about time that ICT faced up to it that the best chance the Highlands have of being effectively represented in the top flight is to support ABERDEEN ! Top of the table and going strong. A club with a pedigree and heritage to prove that one we could contenders again. I have an affection for ICT due to its proximity to me and your struggle against the central belt. But lets not kid ourselves ICT is in its infancy.

  11. I've only seen the BBC highlights and they were impressive! Rooney had style, skill and confidence. I think he was ambushed as much as fouled for the penalty. I have to say, though, that I'm not convinced Duncan was going for goal! Some of the passing moves shown on BBC were quality. I'm now trying to find a chance to get north to see them but it looks like I'll have to wait for Hearts away in December. I'll have to console myself watching Burnley in the meantime.

  14. See all this moaning about the stewards why don't you complain about them? No point talking about it on here. We all know that these guys, especially at Tannadice, are a complete joke, but if you ever want anything done about them then you need to go further than slagging them on on CTO I'm afraid.

  15. I think this midweek game would be a good opportunity to rest players and bringing some of the fringe players in for a game, I'd go with - Tuffey McCann Innes Munro Hayes Cox Duncan McBain Shinnie Rooney Sutherland Subs - Esson, Odhiambo, Proctor, Gillet, Sanchez

  16. Linkage Surely he's misheard that, can't imagine something like that being sung. Doesn't surprise me , we have more than our fair share of ar$eholes in our support .

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.

    • Inverness CT 3-1 Morton - Report
It was a lovely evening for a game of football, what could possibly go wrong? Well, what did go wrong was Queen's Park beat an understrength Airdrie 2-0 at Hampden, therefore despite beating Morton 3-1, Inverness head for the play-offs. Morgan Boyes opened the scoring with a thumping volley after half an hour. Kirk Broadfoot benefited from slack defending to level before the break then proceeded to earn the wrath of the home support with an embarrassing celebration in front of the North Stand. Cammy Harper relieved Billy Mckay of penalty kick duties and duly slotted home from the spot ten minutes after the break. The scoring was completed just after the hour when Sean McAllister drilled home into the bottom corner. Robbie Muirhead had been sent off for simulation then taking a wee fit to himself and was promptly sent off after 58 minutes just after Harper had knocked in his penalty kick, probably aggrieved that he never earned a spot kick for his dramatic dive.

Well, where do you start. It was clear from the begining of the season that something was wrong. Poor signings, dismal performances in the League Cup followed by an abysmal start to the League campaign saw Billy Dodds removed from his position after winning one point in the first six Championship fixtures and replaced by a man with no track record as a manager. A sort of publicity stunt if you like. After the initial new manager bounce wore off, we found ourselves little better off with Big Dunc than we were with wee Billy. We did claw ourselves up to the coat tails of others but the most damning part of our season has been our inability to score goals, especially at home. Only already relegated Arbroath are worse than us. Our team is now full of mercenaries, loan players with no affiliation to our Highland pedigree and many fans have tagged us as being the worst squad ever in our short history. Where are the Golabeck's, Tokeley's, Wilson's..... Much of this can be attributed to our lack of financial nous in the boardroom, failed ventures and now the begging bowls are being put in place to save our club. Having drawn at Dunfermline last week thanks to Aribim Pepple's first goal for the club combined with Billy Mckay's penalty miss, it's now out of our own hands. LAST SIX: D L  W W L  D

    • Dunfermline 1-1 Inverness CT - Report
Out of our hands now: It ended in disappointment for the 319 visiting fans with news that Queens Park had hammered Arbroath 0-5. To rub salt into the wounds, Sheridan and Welsh were amongst the scorers. It's out of our hands now, but it's a must win next Friday and hope Queens Park falter.  Inverness play Morton and Queens play Airdrie. A draw might be enough, but it's a long shot.

I'm not convinced that Billy Mckay was the right man to be taking that penalty, his second failure from the spot in successive games against the Pars.

    • Dunfermline Ath -V- Inverness CT - Preview
Aaron Doran looks likely to have pulled on the Caley Jags strip for the last time after limping off against Raith Rovers last Friday. Sean McAllister returning was a bonus though but the mystery deepens as to why Roddy MacGregor, Austin Samuels and Nikola Ujdur are not featuring either on the injury list or the team list. Baffling to be honest as Roddy has the midfield attributes required, Austin has the speed and potential and Nikola in my opinion, if fit, would be my first choice on the team sheet. Are these guys on the way out? Add to that seven or eight loan players, then next season will see a massive restructure and rebuild at the Caledonian Stadium. I imagine the board members are squirming in their seats like Angela van den Bogerd at a Post Office inquiry.
