  1. So our holiday has finally arrived and with great excitement we drove the 47 miles off the highlands to get our tickets today. We will be in block F behind the goal proudly wearing our Watford shirts. Really looking forward to watching the top team in Scotland! Be nice if you see us if you come and say hello. Oh and we havent been over the bridge yet as our jabs are not fully up to date! Gary

  2. Like it or not, ICT is developing it's own/new identity among a support in which the vast majority don't give two hoots about the politics of the merger. Surely what's most important is the level and passion of the support and not what nickname they choose to use? Appreciate that some of the comments are tongue in cheek, but it really is time for the disgruntled minority to accept the situation for what it is and let the club grow under whatever identity the current generation choose to project on Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC.

  4. This is why it is so important for teams to get into the group stages. I would be over the moon if I was a celtic supporter. They are playing against 3 superb clubs with great histories. Whether they are bottom of the group or not, they will have had 3 fantastic nights at Celtic Park, not forgetting the excitement of this week's win to get them there. It is what their season is all about. It must be great for our players to see what Celtic are doing in Europe and to reflect that we are deservedly ahead of them in the league. It should give us belief, as fans, that we too can make it into Europe next season and get a win or two and perhaps a shot at a well known European side. Success for Celtic in Europe is good for Scottish football. Good luck to them I say. They sure as hell will need it in that group.

  6. Is your vision of Scotland a country that would just stand back and allow genocide then? One which refuses to take part in international military operations, but would fully expect its NATO partners to step in to protect Scotland? The only think more defenceless than an independent Scotland is that stance! Seems to me the UK itself has little to preen about when it comes to standing back and allowing genocide..don't you think? How do you differentiate genocide from civil war, anyway? Is what is happening in ~Syria actually genocide or a continuing Civil War?? Did the UK go in like Flynn over the decade long situation in Darfur? Did we do it in Iraq when Saddam actually did gas the Marsh Arabs? Did we help the Tutsis in Rwanda? Have we ever gone in anywhere just to help the ordinary people, when genocide became the logical interpretation of the fighting, rather than than wait until after a few more thousand civilian deaths in order to support our preferred winner (if he wasn't going to manage it on his own)? How much military help have we given over the decades to save the lives of the Palestinians? How many more have died in Syria since Christmas when gas was reportedly first used and we did nothing? Where do you get your refuses to take part in international military operations. I'm quite sure we will if they are perceived to be warranted, as the very last resort and for good reasons.....but care to tell me how many genocides and other mass murders the UN has managed to get the Big Five to permit legal action against, over the decades, given that genocides etc have killed more than all international wars in the last century added together. To be fair to the UK, they only do anything if the USA primes the pump first, in order to ennsure the preservation of this mythical concept of a "special relationship" I do sometimes wonder, if the criteria for inserting UK forces into countries which do not threaten us, included an immutable obligation for our politicians to offer their nearest old enough relation (son, nephew, grandson or female equivalents etc) to serve on the front line in the conflict....how many of them would still then be voting for interfering anywhere the USA wants us to interfere? We will not, in Scotland, do state aggression.......we'll leave that to the rest of the Island...but we'll do state defending.....and without Nuclear weapons. That stance appears a lot more sensible than getting into fights hanging onto the coat-tails of the USA just because we want to pretend we are still as important in the world as we were in the days when we were invading it, and into the bargain, the days when we were unthinkingly setting up a lot of the problems the world is now facing (like Islamic Terrorism). I'd much rather see a Scotland which does not predicate its reaction to ongoing war crimes like genocide to just what will benefit them either directly or indirectly, but which limits its help to providing available resources to take part in legally constituted interferences by whichever international body we happen to have joined. Can't, tbh, see that happening timeously in any case, however obviously required, via the UN, given the five vetoes, applied only in their own country's specific Interests...which tends to mean that there is a lot of talk but little action.

  9. It was indeed a bounce game, finished 0-3 to ICT with Polworth (Pen) Allen and Ferguson with the goals. Lucky enough to have a full match report here: http://www.buckiethistle.com/scottish-football/1916/match-report--highlights---buckie-thistle-0-3-inverness-ct-xi.html and also even have some decent highlights as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT1R_icdya4 nice work buckiethistle.com

  12. I think DA's limited managerial ability is getting severley tested at the moment, and his excuses are starting to sound very lame. Hope County hang on to him for some time.

  13. Can sense the nerves but this is your first attempt and a very good base to start with. Usually think these types of things are very cringy but what you're doing looks very good. Don't be afraid to ask Davie & co for advice I'm sure they will give you some excellent feedback, no pressure but I'm looking forward to the Killie installment.

  18. A season ticket is an annual pass for club owned sports facilities, gyms, pubs and youth clubs for some around Europe. We wouldn't have to go that far but I couldn't see any downside in putting together a snapfax style book of offers for season ticket holders, would make sense for local traders as well as give an extra incentive to own a ticket and promote partnerships between everyone in the community.

    • Inverness CT (1-2) Hamilton - Play off Final 2nd Leg - Preview
The hurt, the pain, the reluctance and pig-headedness to listen to the fans asking what is going on, the lack of communication, the lack of ambition, the stench of mismanagement, the concert company, the battery farm, the demise since winning the Scottish Cup in 2015, the lack of passion, the lack of commitment, the dwindling fanbase, the lack of leadership. It has left the fans comfortably numb

    • Hamilton -V- Inverness CT - Play off Final 1st Leg - Preview
However all is not well and we just kept our heads above water thanks to Arbroath being rubbish. Onto the play offs and an insipid performance at Links Park left us all wondering if our time has come to drop into oblivion. Our performance certainly would not look out of place in the lower leagues. We clung on for a 0-0 draw away from home and scraped a 1-0 win at Inverness with Billy Mckay saving our blushes. Everything about the club has negative undertones at the moment.

    • Inverness CT 1-0 Montrose Play-Off Second Leg (0-0)
Little Consolation: Inverness will face Hamilton Accies in the Play-Off final after nervously scraping past part-time Montrose who were eventually reduced to ten men when Blair Lyons was sent off after an off the ball incident in the 84th minute involving Morgan Boyes. Inverness had dominated throughout, but failed to capitalise on their possession, and as per the entire season failed to create much of note. The first half was livlier than the first leg, but the same problems showed up our lack of quality. We started with no wingers and Billy Mckay as usual in a withdrawn role. It's not worked all season, so why should it suddenly work now. A woeful first half ended goalless and it was on the hour and out of the blue when Billy Mckay prodded in from three yards to score the only goal of the game following a corner

    • Inverness CT -V- Montrose - Second Leg (0-0)
As much as we have criticised the Caley Jags performance on Tuesday night, let's not lose sight of the fact that Montrose are a decent League 1 side with a good blend of experience and talented prospects. For our part, let's keep them as a good League 1 side and that means no room for faffing about. Time has run out now, there's no hiding places and no room for shirkers. Ditch the sideways passing or put goal posts in front of the Main Stand and tuck shops.

    • Montrose 0-0 Inverness CT - Play Off 1st Leg
      FULL TIME: 0-0

All to play for on Saturday, but don't hold your breath...

However, if we continue like this, it will be our final game this season.

Best performer for us was Samson Lawal, the only bright spark on the field.

Alloa 2-2 Hamilton was the other semi-final score tonight. On this evidence, I doubt either side will be quaking in their boots.
