Highlights Of The Season
Aberdeen away. Imrie's free kick at Tynecastle. Ibrox victory. Errmmm....I'm struggling now!
-
Contracts (merged)
It's a huge if, but IF we did manage to re-sign the players who've been offered contracts then we'd have a pretty decent team next season. Obviously it all rests on other offers those players get. Other than Vigurs, and Pavels (who was never going to stay anyway), then I'm not too disappointed by anyone who's been released.

Contracts (merged)
If this is true then it's depressing news. Vigurs has the potential to be a major player in our rebuilding, and letting him go would be stupid.

Not All The Damage Was Under Brewster
For sure Butcher got some things wrong ( Esson dropped, Pav dropped, Imrie up front) but in the short space of time he had he did a million times better than Brewster. What if we hadn't switched off immediately after Imries free kick at Tynecastle? What if Foran had scored yesterday? What if we'd have just held out another 10 minutes against Motherwell? What if we'd have turned up for the second half of the Motherwell game up here, after we'd played them off the park in the first? It's all ifs and buts, but the stark reality is we were the worst team in the league. Until Foran arrived we played the whole season chopping and changing a non scoring firing line. We had a defence who consistently leaked stupid goals, and looked in total disarray throughout the season. A **** defence and a **** strikeforce=trouble. The time to judge Butcher will be this time next year. Aye, we're all hurting after yesterday, but lets not forget the fact that most of us had us down for relegation certs during Brewsters last couple of months. To get to yesterday with our destiny in our own hands was a remarkable transformation in my opinion. How about accepting, barring some of those that arrived during the last transfer window, that the players bear some of the responsibility in this?

What Are The Chances?
Any hope of Foran, Kerr, or Morais sticking around? Of the three, Morais seems the least likely as I'm sure he'll get better offers. He has said he enjoys it up here though. Foran and Kerr obviously have a close connection with Butcher, so I don't think there's any certainty they'll be away. I'd love us to hang on to these three, they bring something different to the team. Next season is going to be tough, and while it'll be good to see some of the youngsters coming through, they'll need a good few experienced old heads around them.

Imrie
Strange how we all see it differently. I think he shows no potential at all, and is just plain *****. And this talk of him going to a bigger club  :D :D ......the sooner the better IMO.

Ross Tokely
As soon as the ref blew for a free kick it was inevitable it was going to be red. I thought it was fair enough, no complaints.

Will You Be Back Next Season?
Who's the 2 who've voted no so far? I'd like to see the reasons for voting 'no'.

A Great Five Years
Well, it had to happen at some time didn't it. I, for one, have loved every minute of our time in the SPL. Who'd have ever thought 10 years ago that we'd be in there beating the OF, the Dons, Dundee Utd, Hearts, and winning with ease against Hibs at home :024: There's been fantastic away days (**** ones too), brilliant results, and endless times I've felt proud that ICT is my club, on the way back up the A9. Aye, I'll miss it for sure......but next season can't begin quick enough right now. Now sure does feel like a real low, but that's just going to make the next high feel even better. :025:

Blackie
Blackie showed exactly the same desire and fight today as he ever did in a Caley shirt. It's just a shame a few more of our lot didn't show that passion. He has been brilliant from start to finish, and you could see precisely what it meant to him at the end. All the best Ian.

Will You Be Back Next Season?
Have to take the lows with the highs. A club's for life, not just SPL seasons At least there'll be some new away days!!

Smileyometer
Imrie was fecking woeful. He has been ******* woeful all season. He must the only one who thinks the sun shines out of his arse. You'd have never guessed there was everything to play for in his mind. How the hell does anyone rate him? Hopefully he'll feck off back down the road now.

Cheap Prices For Next Week
Where've all these folk been the rest of the season??

Chants Of The Season
As long as no-one does the 'WE ARE STAYING UP' chant until it's certain we are. Everytime I've heard it sung before matches this year, we've generally failed to win the game!
-
Merged: Odds/betting Next Week
I'd be very worried if the bookies didn't make us favourites!! At home, against the bottom team. I know anything can happen, but in the betting world, we're obviously going to be favourites.

We Are Staying Up!
Totally agree Roscoe, I'm fully confident we'll get what we need next week. Why everyone's so worried about Falkirk is beyond me. They've been as gash as we have all season, and they're the ones that HAVE to come up here and win. Past results count for absolutely nothing next week, as fully proved at Killie yesterday. I believe it'll all come down to who's got the most bottle, who's up for it most, and who's prepared to give their all for 90 minutes. I believe we've got the fighters in our team to do it. And as I said on another thread....I'd far rather have Butcher in my corner, giving me his pre-match motivational speech, than that *** Hughes. And I reckon, after two controversial cup exits to them, our players wouldn't choose anyone over Falkirk to do or die against next week. We'll be right up for it.
-
The Boards Role In All This?
Simple fact is we'd have been relegated by now if Brewster had still been in charge. That day we lost at Hamilton was one of the lowest times I've ever had watching ICT. It was like the whole team had given up. If, on that day, we'd been offered the chance of survival by just getting a draw on the last day of the seaon, I think we'd have all happily taken that. And that's where we're at. How can Butcher be blamed for any of this?? Aye, most of the time the football has been dire, but we've got points. He's at least instilled a bit of fight back into the team, and given them a much needed shot of confidence. If the board had the balls to have got him in a month earlier then I honestly believe we'd be clear of relegation by now. Tell you what though, I know which manager I'd rather have in the dressing room next week giving the pre-match team talk. And it ain't John Hughes, and it certainly ain't Brewster. Butcher will have us fired up, no question, and well, if we don't do it, I certainly won't be putting any of the blame on Tel.

Falkirk Roll Call
I'll be there with the usual two. Part of me wants to give the whole thing a miss though, then I can just get a text from the boys at 3ish saying 'We did it!!. It's going to be unbearably tense.

Blackie's Last Game
Well, it's wee Ian's last game for the club next week, and what a last game it'll be for him! No-one can question his committment to the cause since him signing his contract with Hearts as he's been outstanding. If only a few of our other players had his attitude. The guy runs himself into the ground week after week, puts his body in where it hurts, and will be a huge loss next season regardless of which league we're in. I remember when he first signed, watching him warm up with the subs down at Pittodrie, and it was easy to tell then he had some quality about him. Best In Black footballing memory.....THAT penalty at Ibrox. Couldn't believe it when Blackie stepped up to take it, but feck me, how cool was he?? Best Ian Black memory....his scrap with Gary Mason at Dunfermline the other year. The two of them rolling round on the pitch smacking ***** out of each other was pure comedy. And he didn't even get sent off I wish him all the best in his future career, and pray we'll see him again next season, even if it is in a Hearts shirt :D

Matchday Thread: Kilmarnock -v- Ict
It's about time we started announcing the number of away fans too. I'm sure that'd shut a few of the opposition supporters up, when they realise how few they bring up here. Anyway, back to the match....we should've had it sewn up by half time. Oh well, next week is either going to our best day yet, or our worst.
-
Deja Vu
 I'm totally confused by that too. Think Roscoe was pointing out that unlike us, who just need a draw, Falkirk come up knowing they have to win. Therefore, the odds on a pitch invasion from OUR fans are slightly better.
-
Deja Vu
Trouble is the opposition had nothing to play for that day........I'll happily take the dullest 0-0 imaginable right now.
-
Will We Stay Up?
I think we'll actually beat them. Don't forget they HAVE to get the win, which puts all the pressure on them. The perfect scenario though would be a Foran equaliser in the 93rd minute, right in front of the NS :)
-
Ryan Esson
Esson HAS to start. Michael just doesn't command his box in the same way as Esson does, and his distribution is painfully slow. Even when we were chasing an equaliser today he still seemed to take an age over all his clearances.
