  1. The defending for the 4th goal is comical. Watch the defenders as the ball is played to Dennis. One of them does a kind of bizarre 'look away, I can't see where the ball is' kind of action. Very odd. Then another defender makes no effort to stop a ball going at approximately 1mph from trundling into the net!
  2. Spot on :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03:
  3. Best game since he returned. Him and Niculae are linking up brilliantly.
  4. I reckon that's the best game I've seen Blackie have in a Caley shirt. Absolute class,
  5. We were immense. That's the best I've seen us play for a good few seasons. Some of the passing and movement was jaw dropping at times. Hard to single anyone out, everyone gets a 10/10 from me. But Blackie and Russell had their best games I've seen them have for ICT in the middle. I was willing Niculae to score, his header that crashed off the bar deserved to go in. It'll come for him, no worries.....any doubters can't surely be doubting anymore after his link up play, his commitment, his teamwork.......everything today was superb. He just needs a goal. 4-2....could've been 6 or 7.
  6. Looking forward to beating these twats twice in 10 days :022:
  7. Not really. With Brew/Bayne up front we just humped it up to them for most of the first half. When Wyness replaced Brew we started to play some really good stuff. Much as I like Bayne, and appreciate his 100% effort every game.......he just doesn't do it for me I'm afraid. I'd have far rather seen Dennis/Deano or Deano/Marius given a go last night. I thought it strange that Brew played himself when he'd made a fair few changes from Saturdays team.
  8. I thought Morgan had a good game too.
  9. Not much to add really. Easy victory, we coasted, they were mince. Defence looked solid, Cowie's much better out on the wing, and I'm not too sure what the point of Brew starting was. Would've been nice to see Deano and Dennis up front for longer. Home draw for the 1/4s please :022: Oh aye, well done to the 'singing section'. Really good noise from them tonight........await the 'stewards' thread though, as once again the pricks in yellow deem it necessary to stop anyone enjoying themselves.
  10. After all the threads about him last season (mostly deserved), isn't it great to be mentioning Blackie's footballing skills in the post match reports, as opposed to the latest stupid yellow card. I've been hugely impressed by his attitude this year. I've not seen him react once to any harsh treatment dished out to him, and there've been several instances this season when the Blackie of last season would have reacted. He's just got up, and got on with it. And he's really showing what a class player he can be, and how important he is in our midfield. He took 4 or 5 heavy challenges today, and his answer? A superb performance, instrumental in our first victory. So, after all the criticism of the past, it's a big :022: to the wee man.
  11. Great to see Blackie showing what a great footballer he is, rather than the niggly wee ***** he'd turned into last season. Superb stuff from the wee man, long may it continue :022:
  12. I saw him against Gretna in the last game of last season, and he was rubbish. He must've just been going through the motions that day though. He's been a completely different player to the one I saw, a brilliant signing for us. I've seen all the games, bar Celtic last week, and he's been my MOTM in all of them.
  13. Agree. It seems that unless he bangs in a hat-trick every game, then Niculae will get slated. His overall play is superb, and his touch, control, and passing are head and shoulders above anyone else's. His ball in for Wyness's fluffed header today was inch perfect. And as for him being unfit?? He chases back far more than any other striker at the club. Brew/Niculae looked excellent at Hibs. They seem to be our best pairing up front by a mile.
  14. Great game, and what a finish! We were unlucky to go in 1 down at HT, but we really went for it after the break. Cowie just seems to get even better each week. Blackie was outstanding, despite some rough treatment. Tokely was like a man possessed going forward, absolutely brilliant, and he really seemed to push us on after HT. In saying that, he got skinned way to often, and was caught out of position too many times. The defence still looks terrible, I was worried every time Hearts came forward. McGuire was mince, really really bad.....and Munro's passing was shocking. There's no-one taking control, too much indecisiveness, and no communication. Up front, Dennis had his best game in a while......mind, he'll never get an easier goal in his life. Marius was quiet in the 1st half, but was fantastic in the second. As for Brew......what a goal!! Fully deserved 3 points in my opinion, and that'll hopefully give us the confidence to get our season well and truly moving.
  15. Agree RIG. There's too few people like Jose in football these days. I'd far listen to his bizarre ramblings then listen to someone like that boring **** Benitez. Brilliant manager too. There's obviously something going on at Chelsea, and you can't help thinking this is a huuuuuuuuuuuuge mistake by Abramovich....or however you spell it. Think they'll poach Brew???? And how about Jose for Spurs?
  16. No. Presumably everyone will be booing Barry Wilson too?
  17. I said a few weeks ago that, despite playing crap, Dennis seemed to be above criticism. To be honest, I don't think he's done anything to merit praise since he came back here. Aye, he had a wee purple patch, when him and Dargo were banging them in, but even during that period, I didn't think he was playing particularly well. I don't understand why everyone raves on about him, when quite clearly he's not producing the goods....and hasn't been for ages.
  18. Hearts (H) Falkirk(H) Killie(A) Aberdeen(H) Gretna(A) Our season should get going over the next five games. A point is attainable next week. Falkirk...must win game. Killie...tough one, but we've a decent record down there. Aberdeen...they're playing/are pish, surely a first win is on the cards here. Gretna....3 points. So, at the end of the first round of games we could easily be sat on 10 points. It's not like we're playing badly at all, and sooner or later, it's all going to click and someone's going to get gubbed :022: No points from 6 games, but I'm confident we'll get going next week.
  19. Good to see the defence tightened up after Caff gets dropped :023:
  20. Cowie's been brilliant IMO. In all the matches he's started, he's been my MOTM. I saw him last season at County and thought he was crap. Maybe he was just going through the motions. As for Rankin. He's gone backwards from what I've seen this season. In saying that, I've not been overly impressed with him at all since he came here. Other than a few spectacular goals, he doesn't seem to do a great deal around the pitch.
  21. 99.9% of the songs you, or others, make up, are top class GJ, including the one at Love Street. Some things just shouldn't be joked about though, they're few and far between, but taking the **** out of someone's disability is one of them. I think we'd all agree, regardless of who he plays for, that Shiels has shown incredible courage and committment to overcome the loss of an eye, and continue to play at the top level. If anything, he should be regarded as an inspiration for many youngsters, by showing that anything in life is possible. Keep making up the songs though....just not one-eye ones :clapping03: :clapping03: :clapping03:
  22. I can't recall Brewster ever picking himself against the OF away from home, so presuming that remains the case... Fraser Tokely Caff Munro McBain Cowie Black Duncan Rankin Niculae McDonald
  23. He played very well today, I agree. As I've said before, Marius plays a similar role, and today I got the impression that the instructions were 'get it to Brew', regardless of what else was on. And Marius seemed to be the worst culprit for it. He passed up on a couple of good shooting chances, selecting the pass instead. I don't see the sense in playing two target men up front. I'd imagine Dargo would be the ideal type of player to play off either of them, but unfortunately he's not here any longer, and we don't have any forwards with any pace at all. A lot depends on Brew's legs I guess!
  24. I agree about McBain. He looks a natural at left back. Combining Hastings poor early season form, and Roys impressive performances filling in, then he could well be there for a while. Re. pace.....none of our forwards have it!
  25. From memory, Brew never picked himself against the OF.
