Not really much else to add other than we seemed utterly intent on trying to force the ball up the middle of the pitch which was bizarre given that we actually have wingers for the first time in forever to try and whip crosses in. In the second half especially, after Doran had come on and King was switched to the right flank (presumably to stop him cutting inside all the time from the left) we still tried to go right down the throat of the Alloa side and with Goodwin in there that was always going to be a tall order. Really strange that we didn't try and stretch Alloa more by playing with more width but given how excellent they were last night in a defensive sense I think they still would have held firm quite easily. The second half was like one of those overload training exercises given how much of the ball we had and how often we were camped in the Alloa side of the pitch. That said, it is also an exercise we would have failed badly at given how wasteful we were with the ball. Over the course of the 90 minutes I can recall a good shot in the first half from Polworth, a Vigurs (half?) volley in the second after a Fisher knock down and a late effort poked wide by Vigurs and that was it really. Fifteen shots on goal and only two on target. That's very poor. I thought Alloa were superb. You can argue they didn't offer too much in an attacking sense particularly in the second half but they were fantastic across the back completely neutralising our (limited) attacking play and their midfield dominated for most of the game although we got a wee bit of an edge back when Draper came on. Still, all the possession we had is only good if you do something with it. Our wasteful attacking play meant we didn't deserve to go through and Alloa rightly progressed.

I hear you're getting a lift from TSNY. Hope you're not in a rush to get to / back from the game

Not everyone can afford or commit to a season ticket. For fans who have to pick and chose their games, for whatever reason that might be, these prices can only be off putting. I'd be interested to know how many walk up fans we have. If season ticket sales have remained steady then it certainly looks like the number of walk up supporters has reduced over the years.

Homes that are in the same postcode as the stadium (IV1). The are around the stadium is largely zoned for business or industrial development. Very little chance of residential houses springing up in the immediate vicinity.

If you want to create a poll on this site select Start New Topic, click the Poll tab, add in your title (something like 'Club Badge'), add your question ('What do you think of the new badge?'), put in some options ('I like it', 'I hate it' etc.) then hit submit topic. That should be it.

^^^ Voted for Brexit IMO.

£30 is a shocking price and £25 for the North Stand isn't much better. If we break 4,000 for this game we'll be doing well.

We had won the previous two games 5 - 1 and 7 - 0 with Draper on the bench. No real reason to change a team that's turned in those results.

What a shambles of an article. Key man - Owain Fon Williams!? F'cking hell. Anyway, I expect we'll hear a lot about how badly we treated John Hughes this season so get used to that. Perhaps the worst thing in that whole piece is his prediction that Aberdeen will finish 4th.

Needs to play more Taylor Swift IMO.

These comments are meant to wind up 'Rangers' fans although there could well be an element of truth in them as well. Not sure we can seriously expect Brown to consider ICT as one of their nearest title challengers TBH.

El Bakhtaoui heading to Dundee. I wonder if this was who Richie was after but then we were beaten by Dundee after they lost Hemmings last week?
-
Sportsound and Sportscene are utterly dreadful. The ICT highlights may not be the best (they are good I should point out) but they are infinitely preferable to the garbage we get on a Sunday night. I'd happily pay £15 a season to get reasonable quality highlights rather than put up with the drivel served to us by BBC Scotland.

BT decided to cover one of the Old Firm for a change? Surprising move that one.

Has a decision been made? Not seen anything reported anywhere.

Perhaps but I like his honesty. Fans don't necessarily need to know names of the targets just that the club is after new faces something we often aren't really told about or, in some cases, we blurt out names then miss out on them making us look a bit daft in the process. There might have been a wee hiccup in securing any deal by Thursday as planned. Main thing is it's encouraging to hear that our manager is still looking around to strengthen and keeping fans in the loop as much as they can realistically expect to be.

Foran had said he hoped to have two new faces in with one arriving on Thursday. Didn't say much more than that.

The League Cup is part of the domestic Scottish football season. The season is underway albeit not for every side in the country so I can't see how these are pre season matches. It's not really a massive issue TBH anyway. A 5 - 1 win over a Dunfermline side which posed a real banana skin is an excellent result.

Good start to the game from us in the opening few minutes before Dunfermline took over. I can't recall too many clear cut chances for them but they had us hemmed in and if it weren't for some wasteful crossing they might have grabbed a goal before we opened the scoring. Cracking finish from Vigurs and his free kick for our second was made even better due to it thumping the bar on the way in. Disappointing goal for us to lose in between those strikes. We didn't look to sharp at the back for large parts of the first half with some dangerous balls played in and around or own box and we struggled to clear the balls at times. Our inability to clear a corner led to the Pars equaliser when the ball found its way out to Higginbotham and he, for once, put in a decent cross for Greggan to thunder into the net. Decent goal. In the second half we started to dominate a lot more but Dunfermline were still getting in behind us a fair bit, especially behind our full backs. We appeared to play with quite a high defensive line and both Tremarco and Raven were pushed quite far up and Dunfermline were sending quite a few neat passes in behind them to attack. On a couple of occasions the Pars player who got in behind our full backs was the furthest man forward and he had no one in the box to cross to. Bit of a lucky third goal when King cut inside from the left flank and his shot was deflected over Hutton and our fourth also came from the wing when Tremarco (I think) crossed for Vigurs to complete his perfect hat trick with a header. Tansey had a long range effort strike the bottom of the post before Tremarco then bagged number five when he followed up a Tansey free kick which also hit the post but rebounded out and struck Tremarco in the face and ended up in the goal Good performances again from the likes of Mulraney and McNaughton. King drifted in and out of the game but at times we were too open (something Foran said after the match) and Dunfermline, had they perhaps found a better ball in the final third, might have nabbed more than just the one goal they did get. At times there is a lot of space in behind our full backs for teams to exploit but hopefully we can sort these kinds of things out in the next couple of weeks. Certainly a lot to be encouraged about.
