  1. Stoke. Loudest Home support in the EPL two seasons ago I think it was with a decibel level louder than, on average, a jumbo jet taking off. If you are talking vociferous Home supports in Scotland then I haven't experienced any.

I've got some spare protein shakes if he wants one.
  3. Probably a combination of the "impending" Milner transfer to City and also the rumoured sale of Young to Spurs I guess. Would be hard to take losing two of your best players especially to clubs in the case of Spurs, not that much better than you.

If any referee hadn't given that penalty they should have been sacked. Blatant doesn't even come close to describing it. I remember driving through Aberdeen and when I heard we had a penalty at Ibrox, in the last minute and Grandad Weir had been sent off I almost crashed!

Callum Murray!? ARGH! For those who might no remember him he is the ginger haired referee. At Tynecastle he turned in one of the most inept performances I have ever seen from a referee as we hammered Hearts 0 - 0. Still, he's not as bad as Freeland or MacDonald. Bring back Willie Young!
  6. What do people want from the PA? All I am normally interested in at half time is the other scores from Scotland and the EPL, some music and maybe some light hearted entertainment like we had with taking penalties against Jim Calder.
  7. Given there were people on here saying that relegation wouldn't be that bad a thing in May 2009 this kind of story is, in an odd way, welcomed and should make people aware of just how costly it is to teams like us to go down. Hopefully we won't have to go through that all again come May 2011
  8. Chiber - were you not wearing a shirt with Teasdale on it or something? I seem to remember blaming you for the defeat because of something you were wearing!

Serious question and not having a go or anything but where is all this confidence coming from?
  10. Realistically Rangers and Celtic should still walk this league. They might not be splashing the cash like they used to but financially they are on another planet compared to the rest of us and can obviously attract a better calibre of player. The fear factor might not be gone but it is diminishing.

I thought they had done away with the fee for paying by installments or was that only for those who got in before a certain deadline?
  12. Ach I was hoping for a game at Balmoor. Can't see me getting through in time for a midweek KO sadly.
  13. Bells Challenge Cup 1999/2000 v Alloa which we lost on penalties after a 4 - 4 ET draw. Gutted at the end but it was some game!

  15. I think we can write them off now!
  16. Ross P has already started a thread on the game.

I keep going in to change my team enough as it is without having to decide on another sub! I think mine lacks a bit of dig in midfield to be honest.

I thought it was five subs a wee while ago? How come everyone has between 5 - 7 subs now!?
  19. Our midfield is perhaps the strongest area of any team we have had over the years. Certainly our best players teneded to be midfielders I always felt. Imagine a middle line up of Wilson, Black, Cowie and Rankin which I think we might have had at some point a couple of seasons ago?

Calder Tokely Mann Dods Teasdale Christie Sheerin Wilson Bingham Robson Wyness Subs would be: Brown McCulloch Rankin Cowie Stewart
  21. It's the Scottish way though - lump the ball into the channels and run after it. That said, pretty passing will only get you so far though (The John Hughes Law). You need to have the players to be able to execute this and we just need to accept that our players aren't as good as those from other nations. I don't know why we have such a hard time understanding this.
  22. I think two players, certainly SPL wise, that we have never replaced are the aforementioned Dods but also Dargo as well. To have a striker capable of scoring 15 + goals for a bottom six team is an absolute dream to most these days. Hopefully Rooney can make the step up this season after last seasons excellent form but goals win you games and we didn't have anyone like Dargo up front for us after he left. Niculae came in and whilst he had a lot of wonderful touches and link up play his eight (?) goals that season didn't really help us out much. Dods is the other obvious one. Your typical no nonsense defender - get the ball and batter it clear. He looked clumsy and awkward at times but he put his head in where it hurts and pretty much was our defence whilst he was here. He was an unbelievable player for us which is staggering considering how many of fans, myself included, thought that his signing was somewhat bizarre and something of a desperation move by Robbo at the time. Maybe a lesser one would also be Rankin. We didn't score many goals from midfield last season (depending how you view Hayes) and he chipped in with a fair few goals for us. As did Cowie in his first season with us. Looking further back at players who you could bring back then obvious ones like Wilson, Bingham, Ritchie, Robson, Stewart, Mann, Christie all come up. I would quite like to have seen Mike Teasdale playing again. He went on some fantastic runs from left or right back for us. I mind he scored a blinder of a goal against County in Dingwall. Bursting up the left side he cut infield and sent a curling shot into the top right corner of the net in a 3 - 0 win (I think that's the right game). Great stuff! EDIT: Paul Sheerin as well would be brilliant to have back. His passing was superb and he took a mean set piece as well as finding the net on more than a few occasions.

A "reliable source" regarding pie suppliers? I've heard it all now!
  24. But they still went out though.
  25. RossP has already posted that.
