  1. the Falkirk site is the same technology as the main site here so no reason why the component they use couldnt be used here. If it were to be on the cards then I would imagine that ICT could discuss how Falkirk do it with people down there.
  2. Scarlet, you know there is no bigger proponent of getting coverage for the overseas listener/viewer than me. Obviously I have a very great vested interest in that and did my own investigating and burrowing into the rights and processes involved over the last 5 years in the SPL. the bottom line is that the biggest problem would not be the technology to take video from a camera and stream it on the internet, but the sheer volume of data that is generated. Bandwidth = Cost, and the more people that view, the more bandwidth you have to pay for as well as potentially having to buy storage space on a dedicated rather than shared server ..... I believe that this would be extortionate if we were to use a model where all costs are covered. I have no problems in sowing the seeds and will continue to do so but it may not be viable to have a high quality broadcast. Other options like justin.tv or ustream might be possible but I havent looked into them.
  3. good questions Renegade !!! 3 minutes total footage, be it football or celebrations/subs etc A grey area for us, but if included in the footage the SFL might go either way in ruling on this. If we were to try and get this, it is likely it would be a separate video as then there is no way it is "match footage" SPL and SFL rules are different. SPL clubs have non-exclusive media rights to their own footage and can broadcast live outside the UK if they wish whereas SFL footage is ostensibly the property of the SFL even if they had no input into preparing it. Having said all that, broadcasting live video is a whole different ball game. There needs to be a lot better structure in place for that to happen. You are talking about high bandwidth per viewer as well as having to have some form of geo-location service that can allow or block your access depending on your IP/location. Personally, I would love it - for obvious reasons - but I do not foresee live video anytime soon. Live audio/comentary would be the logical next step, but lets learn to walk before we can run ... the current service is in its infancy and it has taken a long time to get to this point. We will continue - in a collaboarative fashion - to press the club to improve it and perhaps extend the offering but new features or services will have to be eased in at the discretion of the club and if they can be shown to be extremely cost effective. The club seem happy with the new service and have had a lot of positive feedback so are definitely open to this now.
  4. looks like AndyCam has finished editing the highlights so hopefully I can get the thing processed this afternoon and online later today. The agreement states that we are not allowed to put online until 24 hours after the final whistle so hopefully sometime after 9-15PM your time ! I have taken some of the suggestions made to me about the graphics and captioning etc so hopefully this will be an improvement. We are also going to start a dedicated thread for video issues in the Technical Support forum and would ask all users to please post any technical queries or suggestions in there. Comments about the actual game - as seen on the footage - can go in the normal matchday thread.

This, to me, is the mark of a good and confident manager. We have probably all seen it before, whether in work or in football ... managers who take all the credit or who look for excuses when things go wrong, or who feel the need to flex their power in one way or another ... all signs of a lack of confidence, ability, self esteem or just a power trip where they must make everyone know they are the boss. As TB has settled more into his ICT role, he has displayed the opposite to that kind of manager, in public at least ..... A confidence that was always there (I guess England and Rangers captaincies make sure of that), a belief in his team that we are now starting to appreciate, and no issue with letting someone else have the limelight by praising them when it is due, whether it is acknowledging his #2 as a crucial cog in the machine, or praising one or more of the players ..... I LIKE THIS !!!
  6. fixed it for ya .... even added a question mark :D
  7. Is this legal Scotty? Posting the link is legal as the website concerned has nothing to do with us although we do actively discourage it !!! The footage itself however is most definitely not legal. I am busy at work right now so will remove the link at my earliest opportunity .......
  8. Golly booked
  9. We have had our share of bad officials, trust me, and as infuriating as it must be for you to be on the end of a defeat like that, trust me, we have been in the same position !!! anyhoo, back to tonight's game ....
  10. How did we cheat a win against you?hopefully you'll get a winner in the 97min which was a yard offside lol That wasnt us cheating, it was bad officiating .... Odhiambo tried to break the offside trap and if anyone is to blame for what certainly appeared to be an offside goal, it would be the linesman who didnt flag him, as for the injury time winner, it is the ref who decides how long the game goes for, not the team .... they just have to play the whistle.
  11. like the Murphy's, he's not bitter

  13. 1. We have never been asked to. 2. It would be easier to just provide a link to the online club shop - which we would be happy to do. 3. The cto shop was setup to offer some more humorous or sarcastic lines that the club probably couldnt get away with or wouldnt want to associate themselves with.

I am firmly in the "if it aint broke dont fix it" camp too ...... 4-2-3-1 may not be the most orthodox formation, and it may not be easy on the lone striker for much of the game but in our case it is working and that striker - the division's top scorer by a country mile - is not suffering too much as it is easily adaptable for the attacking players to get up and support him. If we were actually losing games or not scoring goals then maybe you might have a point Renegade but quite frankly this suggestion seems ludicrous in the extreme as we go into the last 5 games especially as we all know that it takes time for players to get to grips with any new formation or system.
  16. at the stadium or online on the club website at http://www.ictfc.co.uk
  17. I had a chuckle just thinking about that one .......

It wasnt that long ago that Partick fell from SPL to D2 so it is definitely a lesson for all ...... if you add Gretna and Livi to the mix, and maybe even Clydebank it shows you how precarious it can be
  19. will try, but to be honest, I have a similar problem, especially with the opposition as we use 1-11 now and not squad numbers !!!
  20. its online only but if you speak with CaleyD who knows how accomodating he may be .....
  21. a quick estimate from Ian, and i re-iterate that this is just a quick estimate so not an official figure ...... is a little over 875,000. This does NOT include testimonials, friendlies, pre-season, reserve games, home matches at Pittodrie or the one at Dingwall.
  22. I would agree, and for this reason, the thread will now be closed .... 'pending an outcome'.
  23. I dont think we would include friendlies and testimonials in any official count as not all games over the years have official crowd figures provided. Like player goals, the count would likely be for "competitive" fixtures only. I dont have the figures to hand or easily accessible so have fired off an email to Ian Broadfoot for clarification. If anyone knows, he will !!!
  24. If we could push it to 5 it would be great, but I think Andy has managed to capture the feel of the game pretty well in his 3 minute reels ..... As Don says, its all a bit of a trade off ... the longer the file and the higher the quality, the bigger the filesize. The bigger the filesize, the more bandwidth you use and also, if someone has a slow or dodgy connection, the more buffering and/or problems they will suffer. I may try to push the bitrate (quality) up a little bit as Andy's files are higher quality than the finished product, but I have been trying to strike a happy medium between all these factors. Hopefully by the end of the season we will be at a place where we have it optimised for everyone
  25. looks like myself and Don agree was typing at same time as him, he must have faster fingers
