merged: Temp/Singing Stand
think what they're hoping to do TinCan is to resell your seat and therefore make some money towards the cost of the singing section. so - swap your tickets as soon as possible!

Ticket Prices
they have some leeway, but not much. The SFL and SPL have guidelines they set out for minimum prices and clubs pretty much have to follow them .... thats why you sometimes hear about ticket price rumblings when one club wants to lower prices for cup games or near the end of season ...... think you're spot on about the minimum price that can be charged Scotty but have no idea who sets it but suspect that it is that spl committee thingy. i remember a couple of years ago the supporters groups of most of the spl clubs getting together to try to lobby the spl and the clubs to go for a maximum pricing policy but i'm afraid that it fell on deaf ears....

Ticket Prices
not quite sure if Italian footy is that dear as i had a friend working in Rome for a while and he went to Roma games and even the local derbies weren't as expensive as here... I believe, for what it is, footie here is grossly overpriced and the knock on effect is, it keeps folks away from the games i'm becoming more and more convinced that this is what 'those in the know' want to happen - footy no longer for the ordinary supporter.... :009:

Supporters Trust Hall of Fame Dinner
Tickets are now on sale for the above event to be held in the Drumossie Hotel on Friday 7 September 2007. This will be a fantastic night where the fans can get the opportunity to honour (and meet) some of the legends of our club. Also there on the night will be the new SFA Chief Executive, Gordon Smith who has lots to say about football past, present and future. Champagne reception, 4 course meal and awards to be presented! In the run-up to the event you will all have the opportunity to vote for who you think should be the first members inducted into the Hall of Fame and details will be announced as soon as possible on how you can do this. The cost will be £55 per person. The Trust have worked really hard to keep this as affordable for the fans as possible and it's hoped that as many of you that can attend will do. The tickets are selling well so please get in touch to book your seats. If you want more details of the event please don't hesitate to contact any Trust Board members either here or on the Trust website at http://ictsupporterstrust.co.uk/ Details of how to book are on this clicky linky thingy.... http://www.caleythistleonline.com/index.ph...&Itemid=175

Supporters Direct Annual Conference June 30
be pushing it clacher to get something on here or even the trust website in 48 hours given my work/social schedule over the next week or so! these meetings usually take the form of being together as a large group in the first instance then breaking up in to workshops for other parts of the day and coming together at the end for a plenary session. the problem we find is that we never have enough people to attend all the workshops and report back. as a result, once the programme comes out (i don't have a copy yet...) we have to carefully pick which workshops we go to. anyway - that's the logistics... as for the other part of your question.... i suspect that the majority of the feelings would be that clubs are not of great monitory value at all. i think we're all aware that there have been (and still are) some dodgy characters who own or are directors of football clubs for whatever reasons... supporters groups recognised this and also recognised that in some instances clubs were not being run properly (or in the best interests of the club and fans) by these people and as a result the beginings of the trust movement were born. the trust movement initially started out at northampton and sort of grew from there. trusts (as opposed to supporters clubs) are properly constituted organisations with limited liability. it was felt that the nature of the trust meant that they could be a 'conscience' of the football club. the idea is not that the trusts throw money at the football clubs in order that it goes into a big black hole but that we have some kind of influence in how the money is spent and by building up influence within the club by buying shares before the clubs end up in dire straights. i know this is a pretty condensed version of things clacher, but there is actually nothing written down about how the movement started... there may be something somewhere about the value of clubs and i'll try to find out but at the end of the day they hold little value at all... here's a link to the supporters direct website where you can find some information and a copy of the publilcations http://www.supporters-direct.org/

Singing Section Next Season
Dig noted - I would have been there had I not been working :016: don't think this was purely aimed at you CD! :003:
-
Singing Section Next Season
it seems CD that they have thought about this too and there will be some sort of 'tagging' system in place . the chairman was made aware of the issues surrounding the old firm fans at the meeting last night with one of the young boys there raising that same point. i suspect that we will see a certain change to the way things happen next season... i suspect that the final details of the scheme are not yet ironed out but that we'll hear something within the next couple of weeks.

Singing Section Next Season
what ever it is now plus the new bit.... :001:

Singing Section Next Season
Cool, so you can just walk into the singing section for free! :015: (joking) But it sounds like a great idea. Should help create an atmosphere and imo, it;s the best part of the stadium from which to view a match. Presumably it will have to be all seated? the finer details are not yet ironed out. yes it will need to be all seated. you are not allowed to stand at spl grounds. i know i know the away fans do it all the time.... but..... WE need to be a wee bit sensible about things too. the club have been talking about a different style of stewarding next season and that should make a difference.

Player Behaviour
yes - i did actually read the linked article and having worked with people with end stage liver disease have seen the damage that can be done. everyone seems to accept that alcohol causes many of the problems in today's society but don't seem to be prepared to do anything about it..
