  1. I agree with folks. Gil is probably best suited to playing in the hole behind the striker. I think the fact that we are sticking Hayes back in when he is only half fit emphasises the fact we probably need another wide player before the window shuts. Foran's out for a month, Gil is now injured, so we could do with someone else. He has been impressive but i just don't see Nick as a regular player just yet. More often than not he was bullied of the ball or crowded out to quickly. I think he will be better suited to playing as a super sub. However if Gil isn't fit i would use him next week.
  2. We had our little honeymoon period in the 1st 20 minutes in which we were excellent but Celtic were deserved winners today with a 1-0 score which flattered us. Could have been 3 or 4 easily. Coutos for Esson, Rosscoe and Gillet, best players of the day for me. Nick Ross did as well as he could but he struggled to get into the game. I hope Gil isn't too seriously injured. With Foran already out for a month the last thing we need is another injury. We look pritty frail going forward imo. Too much route one football today which was never going to work. Still think we could use 2 more midfielders. We didn't really have any options on the bench today. Overall can't have too much to complain about but there is plenty for big Tel to cotend with in the coming weeks.
  3. Big day for Blummanshtein tomorrow. I look forward to seeing him in action. In terms of cover i wouldn't mind seeing someone come in on loan. I like Nick Ross but i think having a slightly older player who is a natrual wide player wouldn't be bad. Once Foran comes back i hope there is space for him and Gil in the same team.
  4. Very nice guy and was a player of great potential with a sweet left peg but just never managed to stay fit, very sad to see him drop out of professional football but wish him all the best for the future
  5. Turned out to be quite the match. Jonny looked good in his runout and took both his goals really well. Also had a major hand in Shinnie's goal. Shane Sutherland continues to impress, every long ball that came towards him he won and his goal was also well taken shooting on the turn. Max Johnson had a mixed bag, can't catch and is indecisive but made a couple of really good saves. All in all good practice for the youngsters and it was great to see Jonny play again.
  6. Esson McCann, Tokely, Munro, Gillet Cox, Duncan Hayes, Blumanshtein, Foran Rooney Subs: Tuffey, Proctor, McBain, Ross, Morrison, Odhiambo, Sutherland
  7. i seem to recall Cowie's fee being about 50k and Browns was about ?200k.
  8. He has probably taken Villa as far as he can and was told not long ago that he would have to sell players in order to buy in. And having lost Barry last year and being about to lose Milner as well it dosen't suprise me he has gone. Tbh im suprised he didn't go sooner.

    Nick Ross

He is one of our most promising youngsters but i think the Celtic game will come a tad early for him. Foran will make the game i'm guessing, don't know about Hayes though.
  10. Me + a whole bunch of folks.
  11. Yeah well done to the Antwerp fans, you guys really brightened up the game, good luck in your promotion push this season.
  12. A good contest but still alot of room for improvement. Probably could have been 1 or 2 up at half time. Nick Ross looked good and Rooney was working his socks off. Gillet was brilliant defensively and getting forward. Looks a great player. Gil tryed bur just could not get anything right in the 1st half. He did improve in the 2nd half though, he has the makings of a great player. Sanchez on the other hand had almost no impact on the game what so ever. Antwerp were much quicker 2nd half and probably deserved the opener on the run of play. Butcher's subs were well timed and well made, Foran, Odhiambo and Sutherland all made a positive impact on the game. Definite pen when Foran was fouled and took it really well. Overall i would say a draw was a fair result. If there is any money left i would use it as i think we are still looking a tad frail in certain areas of midfield and we really sturggle to produce a good final ball when Hayes and Foran don't play and there is no certainty they will be fit throughout the season again.
  13. Esson McCann, Tokely, Munro, Gillet Duncan, Cox Sanchez, Blumanshtein, Odhiambo Rooney Subs: Tuffey, Golabek, Ross, McBain, Sutherland Wouldnt mind seeing Foran and Hayes for a bit if possible.

    McBain

If your referring to him right now i'd say he is slightly beyone SPL level but still a great player to have with his influence on the team but back in his day Roy was a top player.
  15. I went and got an operation on my toe today to repair my toe nail. I'am currently typing this with my right foot balanced on a chair to support it and waiting for the anaesthetic to ware off.
  16. Noticed that as well, he'd be decent cover and competition for Russeldinho and Cox. Think we could do with one more player.
  17. Whats the best ever football final you've ever seen? Can be any, whether you watched it, went to it, listened to it. Which trophy winning match had you on the edge of your seat till the end? Mine has to be the Champions League final 2005 when Liverpool beat Milan on penalties.

    All Time ICT XI

Brown Tokely, Teasdale, Mann, Hastings Wilson, Sheerin, Black, Robson Wyness, Stewart Subs: Esson, McCarthur, Dods, Cowie, Hayes, Christie, Foran.
  19. Defensively solid all the way throughout the night. All four defenders looked unbreakable and as mentioned Gillet had a good debut. Tuffey also did well when required and kept a clean sheet on his home debut. Without Hayes and Foran we struggle to really create anything, Odi and Ross looked really lively but struggled to really prouduce a final ball of any kind. I'd say we could mayb'e use another wide player of some sort. Has Mackay-Steven actually departed yet? Valladolid looked a good side, slick passing, tasty skills...but struggled to break us down which was great to see ahead of the opening game Despite it being a no score there was alot of positives from tonight, looking forward to Saturday.
  20. I think you will be the strongest team we play this summer. Looking forward to seeing you guys in action.
  21. The Courier said that we had concluded our summer buisness, yet Butcher said "We are just about there." Suggesting mayb'e we aren't quite finished. I think our wide areas in midfield look a tad frail. Gil dosen't look like a left winger and Jonny and Richie are still injured so wouldn't suprise me if we bring in at least one more new face.
  22. He has a good work rate and an excellent cross. Only drawbacks are his lack of strength and he is also a bit slow for a winger. He could do well at conference level though.
  23. A lesiurely game. Game took a wee while to get going but we never really got put under great pressure. Coxy made a good run for his goal and deserved it. Odi will never score a more bizarre goal in his life. Keeper hit it straight off him and no one knew where the ball had landed and by the time they did it was in. Rosscoes goal was a screamer. Almost identical to his strike at St Mirren Park a while back. New players looked good today. McCann looks a fairly solid defender, however his crossing needs a bit of work. Blumstein i think would be better suited in the middle. Always looked to cut in, was unlucky not too score. Looking forward too seeing Valladolid and Antwerp, will be more stiff opposition.
  24. Do we actually know if Mackay-Steven is still on trial? There seem to be contrasting reports as to what the situation is.
  25. Players can represent their country at under 21 level until they are 23.
