The flag was returned to the stadium (by post) this morning and Kenny Cameron asked that I pass on the clubs thanks to the St Johnstone fans who retrieved and returned it (thought not to be the same ones who half inched it in the first place) and to our own fans (namely Capital Caley) who assisted in making that happen.

Why not just concentrate on the football anyway and leave the new manager appointment to the club? Simples!

ICTFC U20s
Because the U20's are often used to give fringe players and/or players returning from injury a game etc, then it's difficult to build any consistency with the squad which would (should) also build consistency in play and results. IMO, that is one of the biggest problems created by getting rid of the reserve matches which were used for these things, as well as bringing through younger players and giving them game time against (theoretically) stronger opposition.

Where have we heard this before Exactly my thoughts! In a way he isn't lying as the club haven't spoken to him, only Alloa chairman for permission. Weve learnt to take everything said with pinch of salt and if he wasnt a priority we wouldnt have approached him. Odds havent been shortening on Hartley for nothing. Hoping all this is sorted and we get him. Got a good feeling that he is the right man for the job. Both BBC and STV are saying we approached, nobody has denied we have approached. Clarification from the club would be nice IMO If the club jumped to release a statement every time the press/media chose to speculate over something then they'd have no time to do anything else.

Pretty brisk news day I think. You'd think so....lol

No direct quote/info from either club and all subsequent "reports" just a different version on STV's speculation....slow news day?

Inverness CT -V- St Johnstone
Played that game pretty much the same way as we played the Hibs game....but against better opposition. I don't think we really "sat back" as such. We got our noses in front and then as the game progressed we didn't over commit ourselves going forward....and in doing so didn't bring any extra/unnecessary pressure to bare on the defence. Tremarco was the stand out for me today...by the end of the game none of the St Johnstone players looked keen to try and make any kind of move down the left for the fear of encountering him. Thought Marley did really well today also. Didn't shine due to a lack of outlets going forward as the game wore on, but he probably ran (quite literally) more time off the clock than anyone else. He's also getting more accustomed to dropping back to cover when Shinnie pushed forward and had a couple of good defensive tackles. Nick Ross took a smack to the face which resulted in a broken tooth and a burst lip, but he was in good spirits after the game and a dentist somewhere's about to make a few quid. Whoever gets the managers job really is going to feel like all their Christmases have come at once.

Is there any rule that say you MUST have a manger? A lot of things in football seem to happen because "it's always been done that way"...but maybe there's a better way?

Roughly how many tickets have we been allocated? I assume less than last year. No idea.

Centre of the West Stand is where Director, Sponsor & Press seating is....so fans will be nowhere near the centreline.

Who will Butcher try to get from ICT in Jan
He has played a few games for the U20s and done pretty well. He offers us an option to throw on a bit of height up front...and unless the new manager is looking to bring in someone else in his place, nobody else offers us that option.

Eh!

CJT cup semi final statement
Two wrongs do not make a right. The Celtic fans (and any other team for that matter) have just as much right to complain and make a case for travelling up here at such a time in winter.

Graeme Bennett resigns from board
Is it the case that he was happy to be put forward for re-election at the time when the AGM resolutions would have been issued earlier this month, but when the AGM took place he wanted that resolution withdrawn? I hadn't taken much interest in the AGM this year but that doesn't sound like normal procedure as the board are self-electing and not normally appointed by the AGM.

Or maybe the timing has to do with the fact it was the club AGM last night?

Who will Butcher try to get from ICT in Jan
Whilst the name "Terry Butcher" might have attracted more than a few of the current squad to Inverness, I think many of them have come to appreciate that life (and work) here is attractive and enjoyable in itself. Since news of TB's departure has broken, we've had two players commit their future to the club...and they are at opposite ends of the spectrum. You have Richie, whom many would have considered "Butchers Boy" coming towards the end of his playing career and talking about how special the area and the team is...and I reckon most would have had him down as a sure bet to follow TB to Hibs. You also have Dean Brill who's an ambitious, young (for a keeper) player with 10+ playing years ahead of him who doesn't appear to have had any hesitation in committing to the club for an extended period. Come January, we'll be looking forward to our Semi-Final...which comes after the window closes...and hopefully still challenging at the right end of the table. Any player worth his salt isn't going to want to walk away from that to go to Hibs the way things are there just now...and no guarantee that TB will be able to turn it around. I'd put money on NO players heading to play in Edinburgh...unless it's ones we want to move on...and I can't think of any that fall into that category.

I'm feeling a little uneasy....just waiting for the moment the authorities/police realise they've got us and County at home on the same day at the same time!
