Nobody find it just a little too coincidental that this rumour breaks in the lead up to us playing Hibs?

Got something in the back of my mind telling me that top tier games an't be played on international weekends. Anyone think of any games where it's happened recently?

What gets me is that the SFA rules are out of line with FIFA. FIFA Disciplinary Code (FDC) PAGE 19 ARTICLE 17 Caution 1. A caution (yellow card) is a warning from the referee to a player during a match to sanction unsporting behaviour of a less serious nature (cf. Law 12 of the Laws of the Game). 2. Two cautions received during the same match incur an expulsion (indirect red card) and, consequently, automatic suspension from the next match (cf. art. 18 par. 4). The two cautions that incurred the red card are rescinded. 3. If a player receives a caution in two separate matches of the same FIFA competition, he is automatically suspended from the next match in that competition. The Disciplinary Committee may exceptionally depart from or amend this rule before the start of a particular competition. Any such decision reached by the Disciplinary Committee is final. 4. If an abandoned match is to be replayed, any caution issued during that match shall be annulled. If the match is not to be re-played, the cautions received by the team responsible for causing the match to be abandoned are upheld; if both teams are responsible, all of the cautions are upheld. 5. If a player is guilty of serious unsporting behaviour as defi ned in Law 12 of the Laws of the Game and is sent off (direct red card), any other caution he has previously received in the same match is upheld. The injury sustained when Sproule left his studs in looked to be a flesh wound and I wouldn't expect it to effect Tremarco's availability. Thought he slotted in very well and had a solid 45 minutes. Equally pleasing was how well Shinnie made the switch to the right hand side.

Comparing one season to the next like that seldom paints an accurate picture. I also think people vastly over-estimate the income from the league cup semi-final which would be about on par with income from 1 additional TV cup game at home. Just about everything else you mention we had the year before as well...e.g. replace County gates with Rangers gates and we had Celtic at home in the Scottish Cup. The solidarity payment is a bit of a red herring, IMO, as some TV money had to be given up to the SFL to maintain the deal and the league would have had a number of expenses in relation to the whole Rangers saga....and if league "profits" are down, then there's not so much to divide among the clubs. All these things tend to balance themselves out year on year and gains in one area are offset by losses in others. We know that Terry had a sizeable chunk taken from the playing budget and from the Chairman's statement we know that admin costs were down by over £110k. Without those cost saving measures then we'd likely have been facing a loss of over £250k (based on limit figures to hand)...which is in line with how the club had been operating previously. To suggest that we only scrapped a profit based on the items you mentioned, especially when comparable items can be found from previous seasons and when there's clearly defined cost cutting, does the club a bit of a dis-service IMO. For far too long we've talked ourselves down...sometimes justifiably so. However, when things are good, like now, we should be shouting from the rooftops about how well our club is operating and doing our bit to attract new investment...and that new investment could be anything from a new season ticket holder to a sizeable share purchase.

Whilst managing to turn a profit is fairly remarkable in itself, you also have to look at the balance sheet which has improved by near £300k. That's the truest indication of the clubs improved financial position. Taking everything together, what we see is that not only is the club operating within it's means on a day to day basis, it's still attracting capital investment. We've been told before that the boards aim after our relegation season was to get the club back to a position where it had £1 Million in the bank, and the accounts show that the plan is working and things are headed in the right direction. That's two years running now where I'll have nothing to moan about at the AGM....I'm no happy!!!

I think it's really poor craic for BT Sport to be suggesting the Staggies are stuffed.

Don't forget to stick £50 on him playing international football one day....http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-24555555

Setting up and capturing the footage is the easy bit...the tough/time consuming part is the video production/editing, which can take several hour even for a short highlight reel. We want to be able to do more of this kind of thing more often...and we will get there. If anyone has a nice 5 figure sum and wants to sponsor the media team, then that would help speed things along!!!

Can I have the card that has either the F at the beginning of the slogan or the G at the start of the last word please. How did you know I was planning "Foran is God" in massive letters?

....and a good few because of it!

Sell out the North Stand ahead of our home derby match at New Year and I'll organise a card display (subject to agreement by club, but don't envisage an issue there).
-
We got a bit carried away and had 5 cameras covering the game on Tuesday night....here's the goal highlights...

No takers on this question then?

What are/would be people's views on the flying of the following flags at football matches in Scotland? Australia, Cambodia, Chile, Cook Islands, Costa Rica, Cuba, Croatia, Czech Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Dominican Republic, Faroe Islands, Fiji, France, Iceland, Laos, Liberia, Lichtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaya, Malysia, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, North Korea, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, Philippines, Puerto Rico, Russia, Sabah, Samoa, Serbia, Saint Maarten, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, United States Strictly speaking, the only one that ticks the box in terms of being ICT colours (Red, Blue, Black & White) is South Korea, but I've included red/blue and red/white/blue combinations (and some have small amounts of other colours on badges/logos).

Should have been a yellow for the foul and then a straight red for kicking out....so he got off light. A wee reminder of the Lennon/Juanjo incident

Fixtures have a habit of changing at fairly short notice. Best to keep an eye out on http://spfl.co.uk/reserve-and-youth/

When we were accepted into the SFL, it was on the basis of "a club yet to be formed" so we didn't actually exist (in current guise) at that time. Inverness Thistle & Caledonian Football Club Ltd was incorporated on the 17th February 1994 and officially started trading on 1st June 1994. As we technically came into existence on the 17th February and replaced the "club yet to be formed", I imagine that will be the date used to mark any anniversary.

There's the "Ask The Club" feature which allows you to put questions directly to the Board - http://caleythistleonline.com/forum/132-ask-the-club/

Changes for TV can be made at any point up to 6 weeks before the match.

Totally agree and it seems strange the SFA can use TV evidence to charge a player for an offence the referee has missed (witness the Dundee UTd player offered a 3 match ban for allegedly kicking a Celtic player) but cannot or will not use the TV evidence to rescind a decison that is so obviously wrong. Surely the SFA do not operate double standards!!. I believe the red card was overturned by the Ref (having reviewed the footage himself) prior to the appeal having to be heard, so Hearts technically didn't risk a penny...although they would have if need be. If a club pays the fee and is successful in it's appeal then the fee is refunded. This makes perfect sense as it stops clubs just appealing everything in the hope a decision might go their way. The SFA will only look at missed offences which are directly raised with them and the reason no fee is sought from the complainant is because the source of the complaint is kept anonymous...which is understandable as it could lead to a situation where fans of one team create trouble with the opposition because their club "grassed" on them.

Charles Bannerman will be all over this...a multi-million pound profit making company exploiting football fan volunteers in this way when they could easily afford to pay them...shameful!!!
