Terry Butcher spent a fair bit of time watching ICT whilst part of the Scotland coaching staff.

Charles, I get where you're coming from in regards to the organisers of the event...however you could have made your point without insulting the intelligence of the CJT board and those choosing to assist them. The bottom line is that CJT will finish the day better off (financially) than they started it....and a few fans will have got together, maybe met some new faces, made some new friends and had a bit of fun in the process.

No, it's the strip of metalling right beside the firth, parallel to the road. Actually I'm not totally convinced that the club ever did fulfil the planning requirement about the cycle racks but I'd better not say any more since there may be some Council Jobsworth reading this! And I do take your point about the "parking malarky", given that the police have pledged to get tough on people parking harmlessly on the verge beside the road. In complete contrast, anyone attending Ness Bank Church on a Sunday morning can seemingly park anywhere they like actually ON the road and irrespective of the traffic chaos this causes along the Haugh and Castle Road. The path all the way from the bridge, right round past the stadium and as far as the junction at Century House is designated cycle path...from there in to the roundabout at Friars Bridge it's "on-road". There's definitely cycle racks, although I've never counted how many bikes they could cater for.

Yes, I've seen it first hand that ticket discounting does not offer sufficient increase in crowds to break even, let alone increase income. It's something where, as part of the CJT Board, I was involved in lots of discussions with the club where every discounting option you could imagine had been discussed and figures were looked at. It always came back to the same conclusion....discounting might increase the numbers by a few, but it comes at too great a financial cost. People harp on about "investing"....but you need to have surplus funds to invest in the first place. We don't have thousands, let alone 10's or 100's of thousands sitting in the bank to allow us to take a hit on ticketing income. Since NONE of the evidence shows that discounting works (financially) then it would be folly to even consider it. What the club are doing is the most sensible approach and one I do hope they stick with. Making it more affordable for the younger generation and families. As for the "risking life and limb" idea....give me a break. Take a look around Scottish Football (and beyond) and see what's happening to all the clubs who have approached things with that attitude.

The easiest way to reduce the number of empty seats would be for us to just remove some and cut the stadium capacity.

That was funny....ended up costing them money in the end

That is all....!

If I was an advertiser and looking to spend the kind of money that would be asked for a large advertising board like that then I wouldn't want it on that side of the ground where it's not going to be picked up by the TV cameras.

The buses that allowed passengers to exit on to the dual carriageway are in breach of several road regulations and a number of health and safety ones as well.
-
Never understood the need to stop traffic turning left....let it flow and just have traffic exiting the roundabout do so into the right lane. Do that at all 4 entry/exit points on the roundabout and you don't need any lights at all, IMO.

That's one of my ideas....a bespoke "media zone" utilising the space where the gantry is at the moment. Ground floor would be a small and simple theatre/studio type room for post match press conference etc. First floor would be a press area for reporters, radio broadcasters etc and on top a camera gantry. However, I appreciate this is a bit of a pipe dream a even a simple structure like that has a cost in the 10's of thousands and wouldn't do anything to recoup the outlay. The two level structure could be continued on either side with the ground floor being utilised for office space (or whatever) and first floor could have a couple of boxes and/or a young families zone....for parents with really young kids who want to attend games without the worry of having to keep them seated and crying etc upsetting others around them....something akin to a creche I suppose where kids could be allowed to have toys and things whilst parents could watch the game. Again though, it falls into the category of "nice to have" and whilst there's scope to recoup at least some of the outlay...you need the money to outlay in the first place and there's a whole list of other things that need spending on before we get anywhere near investing in the nice to haves.

Yeah....6pm

Another of those things that falls under the heading of "Scottish Football Logic"....!

A gas pipe does exist over behind the ground which restricts the size of footprint for any development, but it's not the reason a fourth stand hasn't been built...the reason, as already given, is that it's not needed.
-
Yeah...any school or kids/youth group/organisation can apply for tickets any time they like. You tend not to get them at the start of the season due to school holidays and stuff.
-
Thank you! You learn something new everyday...lol It's not exactly an underpass, it's a path down off the bridge that takes you on to Longam Drive and you then have to go via Stadium Road.
-
Best idea for the roundabout....turn the feckin traffic lights off. Congestion and hold-ups weren't unheard of before, but they are far worse now. What's just as bad is that you can roll up to the roundabout at 3am and still take 5 minutes to get round the bloody thing when you're the only vehicle there.

I have a whole list of ideas on how I would love to see that side of the ground developed...none of which is a new stand. However, in the current economic climate they're all pretty much just wishful thinking.

All these things are happening. Season tickets for a family of four were recently given away via the Inverness Courier, the community dept had a football festival for schools a few couple of months ago in which over 500 kids participated (see video below), a more recent kids kickaround event saw over over 200 kids get the chance to be out on the park with all the players/manager/coaches and players visit various groups, organisations and schools 3 or 4 times a week. Most of these events are backed with tickets/vouchers to encourage kids to attend a game and to take parents/friends/family along with them....and in addition to that, any kids club, organisation, group or school can request (free) tickets at any time. Visitors to the stadium are given tours nearly every day and if players/manager are about then they are usually more than happy to have a chat.

I think the club are getting it about right. They're not charging the prices they do just for the hell of it, they charge the prices they do because they need X amount of income from ticket sales to balance the books and those prices deliver that. Reducing concession prices by a third isn't going to bring in a third more in terms of numbers...past ticket discounting offers have shown that...so if they reduce that price then they need to increase prices elsewhere to compensate....where do you do that? The club have already extended the Student category to all 16 to 25 year olds, and an under 16 need pay no more than £7....so when we talk about concessions, we're only really talking about Senior Citizens. It would be sheer lunacy, IMO, to increase kids/younger persons prices to subsidise a decreased senior citizen ticket. A Senior Citizen season ticket on 10 month payment plan was £184.60.....which works out at £9.72 per match. Attend 12 games and you've (as good as) got your money back, attend 13 and you're making a saving on the matchday ticket price. Numbers break down the same for the 16-25 category. Season Tickets offer between 20% and 35% discount over the matchday prices (100% if you are U12). That should be more than enough to encourage occasional attenders (who are able to do so) to come more often. Anyone able to attend the majority of games who' hasn't got a season ticket is not going to be persuaded by a £12 matchday ticket price....after all, why pay £12 every other week when they could get a season ticket and pay less than £10 per game?

BornCaley, we're in need of some original tracks for use with compilation videos etc on the clubs official YouTube channel. There's no money in the budget for purchasing tracks, but we can offer worldwide exposure and sure fire fame (I may have over-egged that just a little). Something you might be interested in assisting with?

Like it or not, ICT is developing it's own/new identity among a support in which the vast majority don't give two hoots about the politics of the merger. Surely what's most important is the level and passion of the support and not what nickname they choose to use? Appreciate that some of the comments are tongue in cheek, but it really is time for the disgruntled minority to accept the situation for what it is and let the club grow under whatever identity the current generation choose to project on Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC.

Wouldn't mind a game against our old rivals, Livingston.
