I think it's terrible.....4cm would be more than enough fabric at the hip and it doesn't even start to feel cold until the temperature drops into single figures. It's pretty unfair when you consider how heavily clad the females partaking in athletic events are!!!
-
There's absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the existing/previous deal with SKY offered guarantees of OF fixtures. If it didn't then we wouldn't be in a position of having to go an renegotiate!!!

Given the cost of running a bus they'd be lucky to recoup the cost via ticket sales, let alone make anything worthwhile from it. If you work on an average ticket of £15 (based on mix of full price and concessions) then they might make £3 per head (assuming full buses)....about £150 per bus. Say it goes well and 10 buses turn up, that's £1500. Even a poor travelling Well support is going to bring 150/200 people, given that it's against new boys in the league and the novelty factor you might expect that to be 300+ without any incentive. At average ticket price of £15, that's £4500. On the above scenario they're doing themselves out of £3000....or they need 30 buses full of Well Fans to get to the same position they would have been in by doing nothing. Conclusion....it's a vanity thing and they're willing to blow some cash to ensure the stadium doesn't look half empty for the league opener. If I was a C*unty Fan, not sure I would be happy at them donating money to the opposition. Surely if they wanted to be so generous then it would be better spent subsidising travel for their own fans to away games!!!

Looking at the people involved it would appear that the approach being taken is one which involves clubs of various sizes. Given how heavily weighted previous deals have been towards the top two, then that makes total sense and demonstrates a willingness on the part of the SPL Clubs to ensure we don't end up in a similar situation again. What's equally important is that the clubs themselves are being involved in the process which, in the past, has been left pretty much to Doncaster/SPL Board. Whatever deal is done (or not), then at least we can have some confidence that it will represent what is best for clubs of all sizes, and in all parts of the country.

I fully appreciate that there's those who will not have renewed for other reasons...and to be honest, I would have been surprised if we had not seen a dip regardless of the whole Rangers/NewCo fiasco. However, that does not excuse those who made promises which they are not keeping. If people had no intention of renewing, then they should have not have used a promise to do so as a means to put pressure on the club. Some of these people are among those who were accusing the club of being underhand and/or making deals to secure favour with the fans which they would then renege on. As it transpired, the club were true to their word...it's just a pity that the same cannot be said of others. The outcome would very likely have been the same and our position as a club no different than what it is right now, but at least the club would have known not to rely on money promised, which has not been delivered. We're not talking about one or two people here, there's a significant number of people who have done it and that does not reflect well on our fan base. What kind of person sits tight lipped and refuses to own up whilst watching fellow fans attempt to make excuses and give reasons on their behalf where none are merited? There is no excuse....these people are refusing to act with the same integrity that they asked demanded of the club. The last thing we should be doing is trying to defend their embarrassing and shameful (non) actions.

On behalf of the Supporters Trust, a big thank you to Peter Paul of CaleyJags.com who photographed the Kids Kickaround event at the stadium earlier this month. He has very kindly put together a gallery with all the photos and this can be viewed by going to http://www.caleyjags...e/e.htm#A120722 Our thanks also go to the club, players, management, coaches and community department (a real team effort) who made it a great day...as is evident from all the smiles that can be seen in the pictures.

We also still have (literally) hundreds of people who said they would buy season tickets if the club voted "no" to NewCo who haven't honoured that promise. Some of these were existing season ticket holders, others were people who promised to up their support if the club did the "right" thing. That alone annoys the hell out of me because there's people who work damn hard to ensure the fans have a voice and get listened too, and when the club do decide to give credence to their thoughts, views and opinions then these people (fans?) let everyone down by not following through. Unfortunately the DPA prevents these people from being named or you can be sure I'd have a wall of shame that listed them all.

Great all round performance with some nice football being played in all areas. Main points of note for me were..... 1. We looked a lot more confident when defending set pieces and corners and dealt with them well. 2. Lot of big lads in the squad, but they can play with a bit of finesse and we weren't/aren't relying on physical football. Draper in particular...looking at the lad you just get the feeling he wants to welly everything, but beautiful touch on him. Sure they'll be able to handle themselves in the physical games if/when need though. 3. Oswell very composed on the ball. Got a feeling he'll turn out to be a bit of a poacher type and I'd back him to score double figures this coming season. 4. Movement....players finding themselves space and providing options, something we've lacked at TCS for a couple of seasons. 5. No signs of any niggles between players. Encouraging each other even after something didn't quite come off or whatever and none of the bitching that seem common place last season. 6. We used every inch of the part today, spreading balls wide and wide players not getting drawn in. Been a longggg time since we've had a team willing/able to do that, so with any luck we can now take advantage of the size of our pitch. Was glad to discover that Ravens knock wasn't as bad as it looked when he was stretchered off. Just a small concussion and he was up and about by the end of the game. Having seen a few pre-season games now I'd say we're in decent shape and should be ready come 4th August.....even better if we can get a couple of the injured guys up to speed.

Exactly my point DD. Some of the Rangers fans are still quick to have a go at the SFA but they haven't done anything un-toward. Granted the transfer embargo was deemed illegal by the CoS but Rangers aren't effected at all. Just playing in a lower league - That's all. The transfer embargo was not deemed illegal by the CoS....no point of law was being argued. The ruling was that it did not fit within the remit of the SFA rules at the time.

Small price to pay (as far as fans will be concerned) to allow them to keep team name and history.....and you can be sure it won't bother them in the slightest how tainted that history is. SPL still to make decision on the EBT/Double Contract stuff though, so titles could still be stripped.
-
Will be interesting to see what price they offer and whether or not it's more/less than what they cut from the SPL deal. Also be interesting to see how that money is distributed....if it's only among the SFL 3 Clubs then you could end up in a situation where prize money/distribution for the bottom league is higher than for Div 1 & 2.

I'm with ictbob....we do need the immediate financial boosts, but that shouldn't come at the expense of ignoring long term benefits of building good relationships.
-
Not heard anything to the contrary.

You certainly can...give ticket office/shop a call on 227451 and they'll explain the process.

It would be wrong of me to circumvent the swear filter and post the clubs reaction to this discovery. I class myself more as a web designer than a programmer, but I can hack my way around code and would fancy my chances of writing the handful of lines that say.... Lookup Seat Number X. If any match tickets sold return yes, if not return no. If Yes, then Season Ticket Not Available, ask customer to select another. If No, take customers money.
-
I'll check, but 99% certain that we only have "Ticket Only" for home games v Celtic.

UPCOMING MATCHES - TICKET INFORMATION Hearts - Away SPL - 18th August - 2 ticket prices, advanced ticket sales from the stadium and pay at the gate prices. Advance purchase Adults £24, Concessions (Over 65, Under 18 and Full Time Students) - £18 Under 12yrs - £8 Pay at the gate Categories as above, prices £25, £20, £10 SEASON TICKETS Season tickets are still on sale! Unfortunately due to an issue with the ticketing system software Season Tickets can no longer be purchased online. Call into the Ticket Office at the stadium or call 01463 227451 to purchase your tickets. What better way to support your team and never miss a game? Remember season ticket holders also qualify for priority ticket sales as well as a 10% discount in the club shop.
-
The club have been informed that they are no longer able to offer Season TIcket sales online once they start entering information for individual matches onto the ticketing system. The reason appears to be that the software can't cope with checking if a seat has been purchased for an upcoming game and then not making it available for season ticket sales. This means that Season Tickets can now only be purchased in person at the stadium or over the phone. Yeah, I know it's pathetic and a couple of lines of code could fix it...but that's outwith the clubs control and they aren't best pleased with the situation either.
